  1. NO MORE BUFFETS! jkjk!

Just try and make good food choices. Get that Protein in first always, then do your sides. Take it slow and easy. Once you get some good restriction your body will not allow you to over do it. I know its hard, we tend to want to eat like we used to. Over time, you will get the hang of it.

One of my friends I met on this board gave me some good advice... Go to Walmart and get those 1cup or 1/2 cup ziplock bowls and use them to measure your food. Your Protein should be 3 to 4oz, and your side should fit in 1/2 cup bowl. Just try to get in the habit of never eating more than 1cup at each meal.

I still eat what I want in moderation, and I am having great succes with weight loss. I just watch my portions.

  2. From surgery date to first fill 10lbs..

It seems crazy that we do not drop boat loads of weight at the begining doesnt it? I have never figured that out. One would think the weight would just fall off..... FAST.. right after surgery. But....?????

I did not have Great weight loss until after the third fill. MAN, that was intense! That is when I had MAJOR RESTRICTION.

Just be sure to stick with a routine of getting your fills, and excersise. After you are done with liquid/mushie phase be sure to eat Protein first, then green veggies. Thats when the weight really comes off.

  3. My surgeon wants me to get all of my protien with food and not supplements. It seems to be working!

I always eat my Protein first, 3 to 4 oz then green veggies, then a starch. (usually only 2 tbsp of starch) The idea of eating your Protein is that it, actually fills your upper pouch up and stays there for a while and does not immediatly slide down to the larger pouch.

I am not suggesting that supplements are wrong, just sharing what I have learned.

    I average 60 to 80 grams a day.

  4. I still find myself feeling very hungry at times. I never have the sensation of feeling "full" now.. just satisfied.

When I am "very hungry" I do get bummed out when I can't pig out. Just being honest here.

However, today I am healthier, happier, and thinner. It has been well worth it!

Good luck to you on your journey!

  5. I do not count calories at all. I measure my food. I never eat more than 1cup each meal. I try to stick to Protein..Protein...Protein...1st.... then green veggies.

I still have some starches sometimes, potatoes, and whole wheat angel hair Pasta, but not very often.

What I am doing is working for me.. I love my band!

I recently discovered cooking bags. It makes any meat very soft. Love them.

    Good luck on your journey.

  6. Same thing happened to me.. It started 1mo after surgery. I try to eat more Iron.. Baby spinach has alot of Iron try eating that every day. And more red meats if you can get it down. And you have to take your Vitamins girl! I take a multi Vitamin I buy at costco, they are gummy-vites. Taste just like gummie bears.

I dont have problems with brusiing anymore.. As a matter of fact, I feel fantastic.

Good luck to you on your journey.

  7. Alright check this out. Your story is exactly my story! (with the exception of the hot wing story posted earlier) LOL

Here we go.. It has been exactly 10 days since my 4th fill.

I too, did the Water drinking test right after, and same thing.. went down, with a gurgle.. kind of like a clogged drain..draining slowly. The nurse was like are you okay and I was like Yeah Im good.. Of course I wanted that restriction..badly..But in my head I was like...Am I really okay?

Did the liquids for 24hrs..Even Water was going down slowly.. but it was going down. I managed 64 oz's of water.

24 hrs later started reg Protein.. I actually had some boiled chicken.. which I thought would be safe since it is soft. I immediatly became stuck.. badly.. same sliming..pb..story you posted earlier. Except I was at home thank GOD! And not in the car. Brutal!

The next couple of days i stuck to soft Soups (cream) and mushies.. mashed potatoes..and let me tell you, I even had a hard time with those. Any meat I tried to eat got stuck.. hurt like hell.

Finally.. yesterday 9 days later... I was able to eat some protein..I actually choked down 1 whole cup! I just took small, tiny bites, and chewed the hell out of my meat.< /p>

So I guess my advice to you is.. Hang in there kiddo... If you can drink water even if it takes a while..You should be okay. Just take it super easy.. Eat softer foods, but try to get in some Protein. Eventually it will loosen up.

    I hope this helps you.

  8. I felt the same way. My surgeon did not require any pre-op diet.. so I did eat whatever I wanted all the way up to the day before my surgery.

Some might disagree with that.. Many will tell you to start eating right, so that you can get used to "what is to come" And it is probably good advice! But I did NOT do that.

Do what you feel is right.

I had Outback Steakhouse for my last supper. A filet with mashed potatoes, greenbeans. I ate the bread, and the salad too. It was AWESOME!

I am doing really good now.. Losing weight, excercising! All of that.. But I am going to be honest with you.. I miss eating a nice big meal.

    Good luck to you!

  9. I just had my 4th fill on Mon March 1st...and this is the tightest I have ever been. Its been rough!

I was only able to get down yogurt, and cream Soups for two days. Water goes down, I have to drink it slowly, but I am still managing 64 oz of Water daily.

But I am proud to say that I had some good Protein last night! I boiled some chicken legs in some water with onion and garlic..for flavor, for like 45 min. Pulled it out of water peeled the meat of the bone, and had 1 entire chicken leg. 26 gr of Protein. I had to cut it up into small pieces and it took me about 30 min to get it down.. but It worked. I also had a little bit of steamed frozen broccoli..like 2 tbsp.

I am going to have left overs for lunch today again.

It has been rough this week! food has been difficult. But I am getting through it. I guess we just have to take it easy.

  10. This is a Great thread to start.. Congrats on your continued success!

    Starting at size 22.

    Current size...16!

    I feel ...... pretty again!

Need to work on....... my elliptical trainer an get some cardio in!

I am wearing regular large shirts..instead of 3X.

None of my clothes fit me any more. I had to go out and buy 2pairs of jeans, to get me by for the next couple of months.

I am so happy... Love my band!
