  1. I am just getting ready for the next chapter of my life. Dating and finding my soul mate.

The thing is...I can see and feel mine. I have lost enough that my bellie is pretty flat now. (greatful for that.) I guess I just wondered how people deal with that aspect of it. I imagine it to be akward.

OMG... here comes Real life. No more hiding.. time to get out there. LOL Excited.. nervous..all of it.

PS: I love my band, I feel great and I feel sexy!

  2. Kay here it is.. I am single and looking forward to dating again now that I am thinner. However I am concerned that intimacy will be akward with a Port.

After my last relationship, i decided to "hide behind my fat" and just stay by myself. But now that I am thinner and feeling more confident, I have these thoughts.

Any advice from those of you who have met someone after surgery? :)

  3. Unfortunatley these things happen.. WLS affects relationships. When you change your life style, you dont share that commond ground anymore.

This all happened to me as well. My best freind and i hardly speak anymore. A huge "no punn intended" part of our relationship was food. I cant eat like I used to, so our relationship was affected.

She has seen me a couple of times since my WLS, and has never even commented on my progress. As a matter of fact I ran into her at a BBQ last weekend, and she didnt even say a word. Keep in mind she is 200 plus lbs over weight. So i can kind of get it. She is still stuck, which is the way I used to feel. The difference is, I made a decision to change my misery.

I know it sucks to lose friends..relationships will change while your on this journey.. Just keep on keepen on!

  4. Since my surgery I have less pain for sure and I do not take them as often, but I am left scratching my head here trying to figure out whats okay?

I appreciate all the responses. Maybe its just best I dont take them any more.

I left a mssg for the nurse at my sureons office. Still waiting to hear back. Thank you so much everyone!

    PS: MY BAND KICKS ASS!

  5. My doc told me it was okay to take advil. But a friend of mine who just had her surgery (band) said her doctor told her to stay away from it forever! She said, he told her that it could eat a hole in her pouch?

I Have been taking it for my back pain and when I am on my period. It DOES NOT go down easy at all, None the less, I have been taking it. YIKES! I plan to call my surgeon again and ask!

What did your doctor tell you about advil/ibuprofen?

What do you take for pain? I know about liquids, but what about pill form pain meds?
