  1. Figured i'd update, I talked to my surgeon and he said if i was breastfeeding he has his patients wait till they are done, however since im not he scheduled my fill for 4 weeks after i delivered!!! I am unbelievably excited to get my band filled again!!!!!!!!
  2. @Lessyaudra Thank you :] Good luck witth everything as well! Do you already have your band or are you just starting the whole process?
  3. Thank you, im sure i will have more pictures of her to share in the future! I love waking up in the morning to her, even if shes screaming! Im excited to get back on track, and start losing weight again. about your port pain though, i had it too, it came and went though. As she got bigger she tended to lay on it, or push on it so it stuck out a bit, people would rub my tummy and think they found her foot. It hurt a little but other things pertaining to pregnancy hurt more haha.
  4. well congrats on the new baby!!! Thats interesting that you feel yours is tighter. My daughter was born last week and im going to give my surgeon a call tomorrow or tuesday and see when he wants me to come in. Even if its just to talk about when to do what. I chose not to breastfeed so im hoping to get filled ASAP to get back on track.
  5. Thats great to hear!!! I'm so happy for you. its such an amazing time, im almost jealous! I delivered my baby girl 4 days overdue on Wednesday august 31st. I hope everything goes as well if not better for you than it did for me! (I had a very easy pregnancy) Lillian Louise Marie born August 31st 2011 at 6:18pm weighing 7 pounds 6 ounces and 19 inches long. <3 She is the most beautiful thing i have ever seen.
  6. Hey, i just wanted to say, the reason i chose lapband out of the other surgeries out there was because my doctor told me that i could have a perfectly normal and heallthy pregnancy without worries from my surgery if i did lapband. So far thats been true for me. You shouldnt let your doctors scare you, thats not fair. My surgeon has been supportive from day one about my ability to get pregnant and have babies. (This pregnancy was not planned i would have waited a little longer haha but whatever) If i were you, i would not let fear about something i chose to make my life better impact things like my sex life. If you get pregnant you get pregnant and be glad you are. If you doctors scare you about that, i'd be tempted to switch. Being pregnant at any point in my opinion is a wonderful joyous thing and should always be thought of as such no matter the circumstances. If you want to be pregnant now or ever in the future i wish you the best of luck!!!! -Emily
  7. Hey! congrats on getting pregnant! I got pregnant (on accident) a little over a year after i got my band. I had lost a little over 100 pounds at that point. My surgeon unfilled my band at 11 weeks and everything has gone extremely well since. My due date is next week and i cant wait to have my baby girl here!!! At your ultrasound you they can see your port if you ask them too! Its kinda cool. Because of where mine is, you can really feel it if you touch my belly. people always ask if its her foot. Good luck with everything and if you ever wanna chat hit me up! :]
  8. Hey there, im currently 20 years old and 38 weeks pregnant. I'm trying to find some info on getting my band refilled after the baby is born. My surgeon had me defill my band when i was 11 weeks due to morning sickness and having trouble getting my prenatals down. I simply chose to leave it unflled for the remainder of my pregnancy. So now my due date is coming and ideally i would like to have my band filled within days of giving birth since i wont be breast feeding. however everything ive read says most doctors wait till 6 weeks pp. anyone have had experience with this??
  9. Hey there, sorry this reply is so far out. However, i am 20 now, i was banded at 18 and im about a month from being 2 years post op. This has been a great experience for me and if you still need/want someone to discuss things with feel free to email me here or to my personal email (some times i take away to respond here) eburns91@live.com either way i hope everything works out for you and your daughter! -Emily
  10. Hey! Congrats! Im Emily I'm 20 but I'm from washington! Hit me up if you wanna chat :]
  11. I got my band at 18 (almost 19 though) At my one year i had lost 100 LBS :] it was an amazing feeling. I looked good, i felt good, I was living life (always did before i got my band but theres something about liking the way you look that makes it better!) I was partying with my friends and boyfriend and then about a month later i started having issues. I was starving constantly which really sucks when you havent felt what it was like to actually be hungry in over a year and weird stuff was upsetting my stomach and i basically worried myself into a huge knot because i thought it might have slipped and was freaking out. As it turns out my band is wonderfully still in place my issues were coming from being pregnant! Unfortunately my surgeon recommended de-filling for a my pregnancy and i have gained some weight back but plan on getting cinched right back up within a week of delivery! All in all my band is wonderful and it was and is the best decision I have ever made (other than deciding to keep my baby of course!)
  12. So, I turned 20 in March. I got banded at 18 in November of 2009. As of my year anniversary in 2010 i had lost 100lbs. I am now 8 months pregnant, and have gained a good 35-40 pounds :[ So im just wondering how long I should wait before i get filled. My surgeon de-filled mine at 11wks and i am ITCHING to get a fill. i plan on getting it done within a week of baby girls arrival but alot of people (most of which do not have a band) think its to soon. My OB doesnt really have an answer, but i have an appointment with me surgeon next week but was hoping to get some other opinions before then.
  13. it depends on the situation mostly, my suregon doesnt want anyone but his own staff doing my fills and unfills. in case of emergency im supposed to call him first and talk to him about going to the ER and what not. but if your going to be living near school id have it done by a local doctor there not in my home town
  14. That would be because you can do it Amber, just give it a chance and you will love it. On the question about doing it again? Anyday. i would do it again any day of the week. it was the best descicion i have ever made for my self and i only wish i had done it sooner.
