Feeling very discouraged by "bandster he!!". HELP.
OMG! I am soo grateful for this support! I have been feeling like crap. Full on crap! For the last week and a half. I have not lost any weight for 2 weeks! I was beginning to feel beaten once again by my fat. I am 7 weeks out from surgery, and I am having my first fill next week and can not wait! I was feeling good about myself as I saw 2 lbs go each week and then it came to a complete halt. I am still exercising, but the frustration I felt before surgery is back. Before the lap band I would work out 5-6 days a week and not loose a pound. And here I am again. Working out and not loosing. I hope after my first fill it will get better and I start to loose again!

Protien Shakes??
I prefer EAS carb control. Its is 110 calories and 17grms of protein. I usually blend flavorless whey protein (21 grams of protein) in along with frozen fruit. Super yummy! Good luck.

Anyone have band SLIPPAGE?
Thansk DD for the information...Any info I can get I'll take. My biggest fear is messing this tool (lapband) up. So far I love it. I also haven't had a fill yet. Not until the 17th of Sept. I'm nervous, but looking forward to that appt. I can tell I don't have the same restriction I had after the surgery, most likely do to reduction of swelling from the surgery. Thank you soo much for your post.

What am I doing wrong?
I too have the belching issue! Certainly not PB, thank goodness. I don't drink through a straw, eat or drink fast, so I'm not sure why I belch soooo much. It's kind of embarrassing. My husband laughs. We have been together for 15 years and up until 5 weeks ago had never really heard me belch.

worried band is not working :(
Wow you had bread? I have yet to have bread, pasta, or rice. I'm way to scared. I love sushi and went for the first time today, I just took the fish off the rice. From my understanding you shouldn't have processed carbs for 6-8 weeks after surgery. I'm new to this too, but when I get that hungry feeling, I try to eat beans, soft cheese, or anything with a lot of protein. Good luck!

Anyone have band SLIPPAGE?
DD- When did you start experiencing the heart burn? Was it after a fill or from the beginning? Sorry if I am being too personal, I'm just afraid.

What types of exercise?
I am 4 weeks post-op and I have been rollerblading, biking, walking, and Wii Active for 2 1/2 weeks now. I love it. I find it soo much easier to move around now even though I have only lost 29 lbs. My Dr. told me the only restriction I have for exercising is ab work until 6 weeks post op.

How do You do Eating Out?
A great book I found is "Eat this, Don't Eat That". There is a fast food/resturant version and shopping version. You'd be suprised on some of the items you thought were healthy and are the complete opposite. Hope this helps.

Back to work - How Quick
I was banded on Aug 5th and was back to work Aug 10th. I work with special ed children, which can be physical at times, but thank goodness it was fine. On AUg 12th I walked 3 miles with out any problems. But everyone heals differently. Good luck!

How did you know your band slipped? Did you have problems or symptoms?

Incision Question
I too was up and around the day of surgery. I had surgery on a Wednesday and was pulling weeds on Saturday. I had the same feeling around that same time. I just assumed it was healing. I'm almost a month out and the incision has healed fine.

Sex three weeks out
Wow, I didn't have any restrictions. I lasted 4 days without. Although, I found different positions to be more comfortable at the port site than others. Good luck!

What and How much do you eat?
I too was banded on Aug.5th. I'm still on mushy food. In a few days I will be on solids. Last week for the first time I had not felt any restriction. After reading the posts on here I was reassured. I had thought maybe I over stretched my pouch or the band had slipped, but according to the more experienced banders, I am able to eat more, due to the lack of swelling from the surgery. I go in for my first fill on Sept 17th and can't wait! Thank goodness I am still loosing weight. Although, not at the same rate as before. It's only 2 lbs this week. I have also been exercising five days a week too.

Congrats! Way to go, keep it up!

Pain and bruising?
I had a bruise only on 1 incision. It took 3 weeks for it to start going away. I had my surgery on Aug. 5th. My port has never really hurt, although when I bend to the right (my port area) I can feel it. I believe everyone heals differently.

Any good scar remedies?
I was told not to put anything on my scars until all the scabs were gone. Now that they are, I have also been putting Vitamin E on my scars. Good luck!

Does This Happen to you??
I blend fruit and Benefiber in my protein shakes in the morning. It keeps me satisfied until lunch time. Just make sure when you blend the fruit, it is well blended. I hope this helps.

Thanks Beeba!

2 weeks post op and have not gotten hungry once!
I was the same way until the 3 1/2 week point. Now I get hungry after 3 hrs. It sucks! I do keep losing weight though, just not as rapid as before. So I guess it's not too bad. I go for my first fill in 2 weeks and I get to start solid food next week, so hopefully I stay full longer. Good luck! P.S. how do you get the weight ticker on there?

This is probably a dumb question.......?
I was banded Aug 5th and I am just now not able to feel restriction. I am also still on mushy foods. I had to do 2 weeks of liquid. So I believe everyone is different just as was said above.

Any one Banded 8/4/09 or 1st week of August

worried band is not working :(
Thanks Agnes! And thank you to everyone else who has posted on here. I was beginning to get really worried that this was the end of the road for me. Before surgery when I would try to loose weight I would lose 20-25lbs and then nothing! I even trained for the AVON Breast Cancer walk. I walked over 40 miles a week for 4 months and ate healthy and still stalled at 25lbs! Thank you again for your support. I can't wait until my first fill in 2 1/2 weeks.

Every1's watchin what i eat & i hate it!
Ditto that Moxie DO! I didn't tell anyone, but my hubby and my daughter. My mother doesn't even know. I didn't want the food police on me. My husband thought it was because I was ashamed of having the surgery. It wasn't shame it was avoiding being annoyed!

worried band is not working :(
Thank you Dfav for your advice. Would you happen to know if it would be ok to have a protein drink in between meals to prevent overeating? My worse time is between lunch and dinner. i got on the scale today and was extremely disappointed. I had only lost 1 lb since last week for a total of 25lbs. I have been doing so good til now, I don't want to screw this up!

worried band is not working :(
I feel the same as you! I am 31/2 weeks out from surgery, I am still in the mushy stage. Up until a week ago, I felt full all the time and could last 4-5 hours without eating...Now I'm hungry after 3 hours and it's not head hungry. My stomach is actually growling. Is it possible the band has slipped?
