  1. Mine went fine too! I was so glad to get back home because time seemed to stand still while I was there- probably because I couldn't sleep well those first couple of nights. I have always slept on my side or stomache and those first 2 nights I had to stay on my back because I was so sore but was better once I could at least roll to my right side! I am finally back to feeling pretty much normal- no more shoulder pain, or pain when I take a deep breathe and just a little soreness where the port is. Unfortunately, I have gotten my appetitie back yesterday! It was easy doing the clear liquids because I didn't want anything anyway but now I am actually hungry! How are you doing? Was the travel rough for you? How is your postop diet going?

  2. Good luck today!! I hope everything goes well and can't wait to hear about your experience when you get home this weekend. I was able to wear a bra without an issue now- the first couple of days it bothered me because 1 of my incisions is right in my bra line. But after a couple of days it was fine. Good luck!!

  3. Not really having any pain now except maybe a few times a day for a few minutes in my left shoulder. And when I first lie down at night some abdominal pain but it passes after just a couple of minutes. I will admit the first day after my surgery- I was really doubting my decision - mainly because I felt bad and kept thinking -"if anything goes wrong - I have to go thru this again to get this band out of me" But as soon as I started feeling better by day2 I was happy I had done it. I had no hunger at all until yesterday day 7post op - and I really was tired of clear liquids but now I am on full liquids so I think it will be much easier this week. Good luck to you! When is your band date?

  4. I hope your surgery went well! Let me know how you are feeling when you get home and how your experience was. Best of luck!

  5. Thank you! I got home from MX last night about 11:30pm so it was a long day at airports and on the plane but so glad to be home! Luckily, I was feeling good yesterday so the travel wasn't too bad - just last night the gas pain in my left shoulder really kicked in while I was rolling my luggage through the Atlanta airport but feeling fine today - just still a little sore when I try to stand or lie down.

  6. Good luck on 9/11! I am having my surgery with Dr Pompa on 9/9 so I will be at the hotel recovering while you are getting your band. Best of luck and stay in touch when you get back home! My email address is pr8453@att.com.

  7. I am considering Dr Pompa for lap band surgery also, and wondered if you have scheduled your surgery yet? Thanks and good luck!

  8. HI, I saw that you were banded by Dr Pompa in Mexico and wondered if you had any issues or if it has been a good experience. My insurance has denied my surgery because they want 5 years of a BMI of 40+ and I only have 3 yrs but I certainly dont want to wait 2 more years before I get started so I have decided to self pay and will be going to Mexico to Dr Ortiz or Dr Pompa, but wanted to hear from others that were banded by them to see if there were any problems- with the banding, complications later, problems finding a dr in the states for aftercare and fillings, etc. Thank you so much for your help!

  9. Have you had any issues with your lapband surgery? I am considering Dr Pompa for my surgery because my insurance will not approve it because they require a BMI of 40+ for 5 years or more and I only have 3 years at this time and cannot wait 2 more years for it. Thank you for your help!

  10. How are you doing since your surgery? Have you had any problems? How is your weight loss going? My insurance didn't approve my lapband surgery because they require 5 years of Dr records showing a BMI of 40+ and I only had past 3 years- over 40 so I am considering Mexico also and wondered how it went for you. Thanks for sharing and I hope you are doing great!
