I'm here! I've lost another pound after getting my band drained. How wierd is that?!? Heck, maybe I'll come out of this pregnancy a couple pounds less than I started! Here's what I'm doing today: Woodward Dream Cruise
  2. I remember this from my last pregnancy. It didn't exactly hurt when the tech pressed on the port, but there was a dark spot on the u/s screen and she couldn't figure out what it was. I said," Oh yeah, that's my port." Of course, I had to then explain too, because people are usually puzzled as to why I have a port in my stomach area.

ha! I think I have you beat on fills, T! I have totally lost count at this point. :w00t: Speaking of fills, I just got my band drained yesterday. 13 weeks pregnant and I haven't gained a pound! If I wasn't preggo, I'd probably be losing at a decent rate. However, I didn't feel I was getting adequate nutrition, so no fill for me for now. I'm still planning on weighing every day because I really want to keep gains at a minimum. I should probably food log too. We'll see. LOL!
  4. I still carry quite a bit of weight in my stomach, so I had some extra padding there, LOL. My port never really became noticeable. I don't expect much different this time, since I'm only 15lbs lighter starting this pregnancy.

I walked a half marathon in 2002, and I'd like to do that again, or maybe even run some of it. I also dream of doing natural bodybuilding or figure competition someday. I realize what a huge amount of work there is ahead of me for that, but it's like a carrot dangling out in front. Once I get through this pregnancy, it's go time.
  6. Hello! I'm so excited to be joining this thread again. I'm 11 weeks preg with my 2nd band baby. It was kinda neat to go back and see some of my posts from being pregnant with my first. Things are going well so far. I have a lot of cramping, but that's about it. Not much nausea or anything.

I just wanted to touch on the scale issue. I do think when you are serious about losing weight, it's good to weigh daily. As long as you understand the natural fluctuations of water in your body, seeing that number every day can help desensitize you to the scale. Having said that, I also think getting on more than once a day will just make you plain nuts. Why do that to yourself? Hell, I've seen the scale go up 4 pounds when I was really constipated. The pregnancy is going well so far. I'm trying to keep up with my walking, so I can keep my blood pressure in check. So far, so good. I also haven't gained anything yet! Not too shabby Hope everyone is doing well! We're going on vaca (no where too exciting) this week, so I'll check in when I get back.

You didn't make it up... I've heard that statistic too. I am constantly telling myself to NOT use it as an excuse, because I KNOW I can get beyond that number (not that I'm anywhere close yet). So frustrating. Well, guys, I've got to put weight loss on hold again because I am once again pregnant! Due in February. So much for my summer of shrinking!
  9. Congratulations! I had two unfills while preggo. The first was at about 7 weeks -- I had suddenly gotten really tight. After that, things were perfect until about 33 weeks. I got really tight again, so I just got unfilled. If that sounds dramatic, it's only because I have good restriction with only about 1.5ccs, so there just wasn't that much left to take out.

How's everyone doing out there? I've been pretty good with exercise, and just ok with food logging. But, I'm on pace with my little 5 week challenge, and that feels great. What are you all up to?
  11. I've been using myfitnesspal.com. I like that it lets you save certain groups of foods as "meals". It has a nice simple layout and also tracks water and exercise.

Sula -- I play Farm Town too! I have to get my time in early before the baby wakes up  Sunshine -- Have fun at your reunion! Vicvic -- hello! Definitely fills are worth getting. I just had a baby in September, and I had my band unfilled at the end of the pregnancy. It was kind of like starting over. I just got a fill yesterday and I think I'm in a pretty good spot.

Yay for 159! I've been fighting a virus for the last few days. Fever/chills/body aches. Yuck. It's finally settling down, except now I have this wierd rash on my hands. Got to figure this out because I am so ready to get back to the gym. I'm still on track with my weight goals though. I'm supposed to weigh in tomorrow at 231.7, and I'm already at 231.1. Whee!

No trainer for me... was it someone else who mentioned that? I only wish I could afford one! No matter, I've been kicking my own arse in the gym the last few days. Tomorrow is my official weigh day, and I hope to be at 233. I've set myself a 5 week goal to be at 228 -- so that's a little over 1lb per week. Did I tell you guys I'm hoping to get pregnant again this summer? I can't remember what I typed three posts ago, LOL! Anyway, I am doing my best to build up my exercise routine, so that when I actually get pregnant, I can continue. Last time, I mostly sat on my butt for 9 months. Not this time!

Seriously, I never imagined I was still going to struggle this much. But, I would still do it over again in a heartbeat. My blood pressure is better, no more heartburn, etc. I am getting frustrated with my restriction levels though. It seems like I can never keep it at a good spot for long enough to make anything happen. I told my husband that if I get too tight again, I'm going to suffer through it and lose another 30lbs even if I have to live on slimfast and soup!

Caryn -- I catch myself feeling the same way. I really thought it was going to be a little easier. So far, the only time it's come off easy is when I'm too tight and only drinking liquids -- not good! What the band is really doing is making me face and work on all my food issues in my head!

Sula -- way to focus on the positive! It's so easy to get caught up in the numbers. Here, I've been down in the dumps lately, because I gained almost 12 lbs back when I got my unfill. During the past week, three people have asked me if I lost more weight. Strange, but I'll take the compliment! Yesterday I was really feeling bad, really tired, and just grumpy. I even sent the baby to daycare today so I could have a day to myself. I visited an old weight loss coaching site (this guy helped with my only successful weight loss besides surgery), and I felt compelled to poke around the site, do some reading, and... go to the gym. Yep, I decided the only thing to do was go throw some weight around. I won't say it's an instant cure for my downer of a mood, but I do feel better. And at least I can't be down on myself for not exercising. For now, I have a new 5 week goal to be back to 228 by July 1. I know I can blow it out of the water if I really want to.

That is hilarious! It is hard to believe it's been 8 months though. Time flies, that's for sure. Of course, it also reminds me that I've made hardly any progress in almost another year.

OMG my daughter started crawling, and I've suddenly lost every second of free time! We frantically baby-proofed earlier this week, but she is also pulling up on everything too. I feel like I can't leave her alone for two seconds unless she's in her exersaucer. Crazy times. Lisa -- I worry about my snacking too. I recently had a gastroscopy, so I know for sure my esophagus isn't dilated at this time, BUT things were not pretty down there. I had some cell changes that are indicative of reflux or more likely... pouch packing. I know I eat too much most of the time, especially with having my band unfilled. It's so frustrating. Well, I have a fill again - Yay! Now I just have to re-lose that last 10lbs.

Let's do some kind of challenge. Something where we have a goal by a specific time. Like a "rest of May" challenge or a summer challenge. That way it's not so open ended and we don't get bored with it. What do you guys think?

I'm in. What do you guys think of a separate challenge post where we can check in with food/exercise?

Tonya -- you look amazing!! Well, gals, I am really hating this unfill. I'm back up to 230. It just kills me. I know what it is though -- eating out. I've eaten out more in the past two weeks than I have in the past six MONTHS!! I can't wait to get some restriction again. On a better note... I've finally gotten my booty moving. I've been doing Jillian Michael's 30 day Shred DVD three times a week. Mari Winsor Pilates another two days. And I'm parking far at work and walking ten minutes instead of taking the shuttle. Yay me!

$200?! Wow. I would be broke by now with all the adjustments I've had over the last year!

The scale has been creeping up on me too -- evil unfill!! I started keeping a food log though, so I hope that helps. I'm actually not eating horribly, but still not exercising. I'm making that a goal this week.

Cancun! How awesome! And free too! Can't beat that. I hope you have a great time! Well, I'm headed back to the band doc today. Even with that unfill last week, I'm still only on liquids, barely. Every sip gurgles and gurgles. Yesterday, I barfed up a pill. A pill! Really? It's too much. So, I'm going back today for more unfill. I'm really going to try to convince him to get me a barium swallow. I'm just worried about a slip at this point.
