Friday OCTOBER 16th
I'm so excited  I can't even focus now I have things to get ready
-
Try target they sell appetizer plates as well and childrens untensils or a dollar store sometimes they have them too.
-
It's seems like all I've done is wait wait for my consult, wait for my surgical consult, for for the insurance approval, wait for the nutritionist consult, and now now at the end... wait for a surgery date, again I'm glad I'm committed to this. boy oh boy
-
I'm going to try the eas tomorrow I found some in Target and I think I'm going to go with the ones that my surgeons office sells, there fruity and are low on carbs
-
Find out how the local surgeons in your area work by contacting one or two if you have more then one, check this site it will tell you who they are.... then check with your insurance in my case my first appt wasn't billed to the insurance co it was a flat fee and then if I was sure we moved fwd. then after I made a decision I needed a referral from my pcp and then moved fwd with my surgeon. check with the docs office first I didn't have to go to any seminar just a few support group meetings. Good Luck

thanks guys I'm going to try a few of these my doc has some they sell too

I need to know what kind of Protein Shakes to look for. I heard the pure shakes are ok any other suggestions? and where to get them and no I don't have a trader joes in my area although I could in my travels.

Your doc is right any surgery is a risk, the worst thing I've heard is having to have the band removed because her scar tissue grew around it. but I've never heard of anyone dying and all of the stories I've heard we're because people failed to think when things happen.
-
suz I haven't been banded yet but I know how you feel I've gotten a lot of info from this site and like someone said earlier every doc is diffrent. My docs don't require a psych eval or preop diet some people have 12 steps some have 16, if you have more questions let your doc know they're usually happy to comply... Be confident that you've made a good choice.
-
I'm one step closer to a date I met with the nurtionist and now the date... once I get a date I'll have to do and EKG and blood work... then the count down
-
You should excuse people they don't say what they meananymore or mean what they say they just talk to respond not only that you are the only one who has to live with your decision- Just an FYI I know we're going to the same doc so I should have a date soon I'll keep u posted

I have a 3 yr old and a 7 yr old and what I've told them is little just that mommy is working on getting healthy I've decided not to tell them about surgery until I have a date and then just to simply explain that it's part of the process
-

Casey I read some of your posts and not all but just wanted to respond to one thing you said... If you have ghosts then you should clear them up you can't go foward if you haven't dealt with your past, it's just impossible even if you think you can get past it.... make sure your mentally ready for this it's more then just a physical journey it's a mental battle as well you have to be ready to fight yourself (your toughest oponant) so take that advice for what it's worth it would be horriable to come this far and fail wouldn't it. I hope it all works out for you and don't be discouraged be determined.
-
It depends on your insurance or financial option and then on your surgeons requirments it could take anywhere from 4 months to a year
-
I don't have a date yet I have a few more things before my doc will schedule a date but it's coming soon. Congrats on your surgery I hope you get great answers to all the things you wonder.
