  1. Hey All-

I just wanted to say thanks for the idea for the flavored tea bags. I hadn't even thought of that.

Also I wanted to make mention of wonderful little packets in the tuna fish section at the grocery store. They are called tuna creations and Albacore creations. There are several of the tuna (watch out some have 3 grams of fat per serving and the whole little pouch has 2.5 servings), but the Albacore has only 0.5 grams of fat per serving. I have been tossing these with baby spinach and dash of lite dressing and they are wonderful!

For Breakfast I had the Garlic and Herb tuna creation with a cup of baby spinach, a dash of light italian dressing, and a strawberry.< /p>

Wishing you all a low carb day!!!!

  2. testing out ticker

    Hello Bonnie,

I am trying to get my ticker to work to. I'm not doing something right because it keeps saying invalid file. Looks like yours is working. Can you tell me how you got it to work? Which code did you use? Did you only use a portion of the code?

AND if 10lb weight loss per month is a result of Low Carb-count me IN!!!!! I think I went into ketosis during my pre-op diet because I was loosing almost a pound a day right there on the last. I lost about 19 pounds during my pre-op diet...:w00t:

    Thanks All

    Shena

  3. but my aunt asked her sons stepsister to go riding and she doesn't seem like the horse type I started riding when I was 5 and I haven't went to a lesson since I was 15 and now the prices went up, I miss riding so much, speaking of horses I had a dream a few nights ago that I was bringing my own horse in the stables. My room has a lot of horse pix and a shelf full of horse care books I wish I was lucky that someone knew I wanted a horse and got me one for my birthday, anyways I love to canter, barrel racing and pole bending looks so fun I want to do it, jumping and dressage also looks fun, my most memorable moment was the day after my oldest cousins graduation party my aunt and I went for a 2 hour trail ride miss those days. What's everyones fav horse breed and what do you like to do most? Mine are quarter horses and love being around them and trail riding I'm ready to try some new things too! How's it feel with the band after a year?

    Yeah,

I love that when you're riding with a group of ppl and they are soooo insensitive to riders with some extra weight. I have my own horse, but I don't ride as much as I used to...I like English show. It's my favorite. I still have quite a bit to learn, but the judges seem to be a little insensitive to overweight ppl on horses. That might seem a little cynical, I'm sure not all judges are that way, but the few ruin it for everyone...

  4. Thanks Lbndoc. Ok the port thing is kind of creeping me out... how do we know it doesn't get loose from the tugging? I doubt my doc will clear me to ride cuz they are saying no exercise that even remotely involves abs until 6 weeks - i mean i may get on and walk. Good luck to you too! I'll see how i am feeling i guess. I don't have that prob w/ my boob and that is weird cuz its not like they are small  wonder if like some sort of bandage there would make it less uncomfortable. My fear of riding with a band was a fall and having things slip. She said worse case is the port connectors may come apart same thing w/ accidents or any trauma. Not to jinx myself but I don't usually fall

    Hello hmarko,

Congratulations on your surgery date!!! I just wanted to tell you that sometimes I forget my port is there and I was banded on July 28th this year. The only time I feel it now is if I press on it with my hand or someone else does. I wouldn't worry that much about it. It is definitely worth it. If you will let it, it will help you change your life. And the horses can wait a couple of weeks...there really isn't a tugging sensation at all for me...

    Good Luck!

    You can do it!!!

    Shena

  5. Hello Everyone!!!

I just wanted to say that you all are my heroes!!! I was banded on July 28th this year and my BMI is 48. I have a long journey ahead. I have had several friends have the band, but most of them only needed to lose like 60lbs, so it is hard to identify with them at times, but here I feel like you guys really understand. I need to lose around 155lbs. I just wanted to say what an inspiration everyone in this forum is. Thank God for people like you all!!!

    :wink2:

  6. I'm scheduled for my first follow-up on August 13th. I really would like to have a fill even though I was just banded on July 28th. I do have quite a bit of restriction, but I lost 40 pounds prior to surgery and then another 18 during the pre-op surgery and I don't want to give those pounds a chance to sneak back up on me. I might be being a little too aggressive. Has anyone else had a fill at 2 weeks post-op or is that simply not done? P.S. I can eat some toasted breads now and crackers go down ok too. Will that change after I have my first fill?

    Thanks :sneaky:

  7. Thank you all so much. This website has really helped me. I actually had never even thought of the thin crust. I was banded on the 28th and I have quite a bit of restriction in comparison to nothing. Another question too-does everyone completely avoid drinking altogether while eating? I have to sip while I eat. I know they say that fills the pouch and washes food out too quickly, but I almost feel like I'm gonna choke if I don't take a sip now and then....

    Thanks...

  8. I am having the worst pain...I know it's gas, but I mean, every single time I take a sip of Water or anything, it hits my stomach, then a large gas bubble comes up and I burp. The burp hurts so much (like my chest is gonna explode) then I throw up the Water and this mucus stuff. My family physician gave me a shot of phenergan to try to keep stuff down. I kept down about 8 oz of water, but that's all I've kept down since surgery. But the phenergan has worn off and everything is back to the way it was. He said if I couldn't stop throwing everything up I'd have to be admitted for dehydration. I feel like I have made the biggest mistake of my life. Please, is anyone in the same boat, or have been?

    Hey,

Just wanted to say... I was banded on 7/28. My surgeon said that he left my ap band empty because the swelling would be somewhat like a fill. I also had a hiatal hernia repair so he wants to delay a fill for about a month. I just hope you get to feeling better. The gas pain was horrible for like four days, but after that things got better for me. I still have not had a fill and have quite a bit of restriction. I still want my fill though.

    Hoping you are better!:sneaky:

  9. I too had a hernia repair and the lap-band. I'm still a little sore (I was banded on July 28th). A friend of mine who is banded(and has had several fills) says that you can't get pizza to go down. I would kill to get my hands on a piece. Will pizza go down for anyone else? I'm new at all of this. How do you guys get those cute little tickerfactory thingies to display on the board when you leave a message? Thanks all!
