  1. Thanks Myra, I will have to look around for my fiance's book of benefits. I have found all the numbers of the 6 places/doctors I need to contact so hopefully I can get the info back soon. Thanks for the support, I am indeed screaming in frustration too. I will read your post, thank you :(

  2. I never went to see the surgeon but I went in to talk to the woman from the hospital where it is done, who sets the process up. They called to see if I was able to be covered by my insurance and they said I was excluded but I can send in paperwork from my doctors and their staff of nurses will see if it's medically necessary.

  3. Hello, I have looked everywhere for an insurance appeal form. I was denied coverage for the Lapband and I am going to appeal it. I just don't know the right kind of page/form to send in with all of my records. I have tried obesityhelp.com and some other sites with no luck. If anyone can point me in the right direction I would appreciate it. Thank you.

  4. Hello, I had my consultation on Friday and I was denied by my insurance. I have HUC POS plan. I have many problems caused by obesity and I called UHC to see what I can do. The woman I spoke to said I can send them a bunch of information about my problems so they can determine if it's medically necessary. So far I have about 5 different doctors I can get records from. Wish me luck, I am super depressed about this. When I found out I wasn't accepted and had no one who would finance for me I came home and cried while eating a cheeseburger lol. Thanks for the support, you guys are the best. :faint:

  5. Hmmm, I am a panty/bra freak and they must match and must be cute. I guess I never got big enough to not be in cute at Lane Bryant. And ALL of my bras and panties were Lane Bryant. I hate to throw them away but I do. Then I go buy another sexy set!

I love Lane Bryant, If it weren't for them I would have nothing to wear. My sister used to work at one and always told me when they had sales and things like that :scared: There is one bra from there with the netted flower print that they discontinued :cry Oh well :(

  6. You could technically report her to your insurance. It could be considered discrimination for her comments and actions. There is such thing as people hating themselves and anyone like them (IE: Weight Problem, Race, Sex, Etc)

I know with my insurance they told me if I have any problems with any doctor to call them.

  7. Not trying to be rude, but I can't get over the fact that meyour keeps posting things that don't make sense and then getting angry at us when we point out the mistakes or misunderstanding. It sounds to me like someone is not understanding their doctor. But again, I'm probably gonna be yelled at for saying it, but I think someone is making up stories to make us think that lapband isn't a good surgery.

    or maybe someone is jealous.

Or it could be one of those kinds of people who like starting arguments because it makes them happy.

  8. Oh no, are you kidding...I have been waiting all this time for my cpap...and tonsils can be a culprit??? Ugh, I could have had my tonsils out quicker than it took to get my pulm doc to read my test results!!:frusty: :pound:

Yep. My sister had sleep apnea and had her tonsils out when she was about 15 or so with normal surgery. When I was 21 I snored ALOT and I would stop breathing in my sleep, and be so tired I could fall asleep anywhere, even at work. My PCP decided I should get my tonsils out and I haven't had a problem since. My sister and I are both overweight and both had it. Here is a link I found. http://www.doctorhoffman.com/ta.htm

  9. Poeple with sleep apnea wake up at nite gasping for air. Your sleeping quality is so bad you wake up in the morning tired and still sleepy. You fall asleep easily and in worst case, fall asleep while driving. CPAP delivers air into your airway through a specially designed nasal mask. The mask does not breathe for you; the flow of air creates enough pressure when you inhale to keep your airway open.

Normally with sleep apnea, your mind jolts your body so you can start breathing again but not normally enough to even wake you up. I had my tonsils out to correct my sleep apnea and I am fine now. My father was on the mask and it didn't help him much at all and he decided to go and get his tonsils out as well and is now fine also.

  10. 1) High Water content is called "Fluid retention" or "water retention", defined as "An abnormal accumulation of Fluid in cells, tissues or body cavities that results in swelling" - this explain why my body had suddenly strenching and getting bigger rapidly. It was actually "swelling" with Water.< /div>

Most people get "Fluid retention" or "Water retention" during their periods. It causes them to gain a few pounds that goes away. You could mean Edema maybe?
