marialisa, sorry to hear you had lots of incisions. i was supposed to only have two plus a port. once doc was in there, i too was given more than anticipated. i got 5. i still have some pain at times, but lots of discomfort. the pain i totally underestimated. i have no saline in my realize band till the first of october. so i have no restriction. i am hungry. i ate real food this week for the first time and experienced "getting stuck" i was in pain for 7 hours!!! so,heed my warning and chew over and over again!! so glad to hear from you and don't worry about losing now, just heal. we have plenty of time and want the weight to come off at a good pace, so as to not have sagging skin!!! take it easy, hope your pain is under control. lisa6

hey kim!!! i want your recipe for the lemon ice too! my surgeon does have a support group, but i live about 2 hours from the hospital. it's bad enough to go there when i have to. but it is rated 3rd in our nation, so i have confidence in them! you got to eat some actual food, yeah! my husband has been very supportive about the actual decision as i really had to do this for medical reasons. i had a heart attack when i was only 34. it's been four years now and although i lost 55 lbs. after the attack, i couldn't keep it off. now, after the surgery, has been a different story. from the first night i was released from the hospital, i had to get up with the 2 yr.old each and every night. at the time, he had taken off 5 days of work to"help me". i wasn't happy. after day three, i told him if he didn't do more i was checking into a hotel so i could get some rest!!!!! so he shaped up! as for your hubby, i'm sure your knock his socks off!!! lisa6:lol:

marialisa, was just wondering about you and how you're surgery went. we were banded on the same day and i found some comfort knowing i wasn't the only one!! but haven't noticed you posting. anyway, hope you're o.k. take care. lisa6

marialisa, by the way, i'm lisa marie! so very easy to remember your name! i too think today i am down about 6lbs. it does seem to be getting a little easier to deal with the hunger. i think most is in my head! on the 12th my son is coming home from the army. i haven't seen him in 3 months. very emotional about that. but i have to cook tons of food for a welcome home party for about 50 people! i hope my willpower gets me through not eating! curious to see how much we lose before actually banded. will you have fluid in your band immediately? i will not for 6 weeks after surgery. tl,lisa6

marialisa, thanks for the reply! i too am on day 4 of pre-op dieting. i'm allowed 4 cans of slim-fast a day plus water and sugar-free jello(which i'm not eating,cause i hate jello!) but i've noticed that others on here have much more choices and most eat one lean meal a day. i never thought i would get so sick of chocolate flavor! so, is your surgery in canada considered out-patient? my surgeon is at the cleveland clinic in ohio.in the u.s. it is rated3rd in our nation. this gives me some comfort. i'll be in hospital for2-3 days. they'll give me a push button morphine pump! so i'm sure i'll be comfortable! really really stoned!though i tend toshy away from meds, i think i may need it. sounds like most complain about the gas pain in the shoulder area. so, are you scared, or just really anxious to get this done? i'm mixed. but i know this was the right decision for me. lisa6

how many incisions have some of you had? i had read the would be 5 plus the port incision. but yesterday at my pre-0p appt. my surgeon said i was a good candidate for only 2 incisions! a snakebite just above my bellybutton! one other in the center of my abdomen for the port! i am so happy, that was a nice surprise! lisa6
