  1. Hi there - The fill went fine, quick and easy! He put in 4ccs - I have a 10 cc band. So a decent amount, but so far not noticing much difference. Maybe when I get back on mushy/solid foods (on liquids today). How are you doing?

  2. Thanks for your note Dee. I did have a good week, lost 2 lbs, but this weekend was NOT good, I faced many food temptations and did not do so well resisting!

Hope you are feeling better, so sorry the pain meds are not helping much. It gets better every day!

  3. Hi Dee,

The scale is moving again! Thanks for noticing. I think it is the combination of starting mushies and exercise. Mushies are keeping me full longer. I lost nothing doing the soup and shake thing, other than the first few days after surgery.

I started running (very slow) and hiking at 12 days post op. Yesterday I felt so much better running than the first day I tried it. I am really excited about this development.

    How are you doing?

  4. Excellent, so there is a good chance of your appeal being approved! Great! Hey, 145 sounds like a dream weight to me! That is my official goal right now (I am 5/4"). I have not been that weight since college. In fact, by the end of college I had inched up to about 155...but still looked pretty good at that weight. Of course I thought I was too fat too. Even when I was able to squeeze into a size 6 in high school I thought I was too fat! And so the cycle of dieting non stop. What a waste.

Anyway, I LOVE the band so far! Did you see that I lost 15 lbs in one week??? 8 lbs from the clear liquid pre-op diet and 7 lbs since surgery (last Tues). I am so excited. Best of all, I am not hungry and have no desire to pig out, whatsoever. I get full after 1/2 cup to maybe 1 cup of food at each meal (doing liquid puree, so mostly soups). This is so worth it! Good luck with your insurance, let me know what happens!

  5. Oh no what a drag - the denial. So sorry you have to go through all that again! Do you think it will eventually get approved? I had to pay myself - $9900.

I am so happy to have the band! I am pretty sore and tired today, and bothered by the chest (gas) pains, but otherwise everything went well. I was in surgery at 10:30 and out of the hospital by 1:30....then slept pretty much the rest of the day.

Let me know how things are going for you - I hope you get a quick approval after this bad news.

  6. Thanks for the encouragement! We will both be on the way to skinny very soon!
