  1. its 7 am and i am now craving chicken! lol Thanks for sharing. I am doing the 5 day pouch test but will make this on Monday.
  2. Hope you hit your "sweet spot" :cursing:
  3. 50 lbs is awesome!!!! congrats
  4. My mornings are hectic so for me a Protein shake is the best and it is sooooo good! .5 cup skim plus milk 3 tbls greek non-fat plain yogurt scoop of chocolate Protein powder spoon of flex seed for vitamines frozen berries Depending how hungry i am, i usually leave a little bit for a snack. There is about 35 grams of protein in that shake, i get my fruits and dairy. I love love love it! and if i want something extra - i add a tea spoon of low fat Peanut Butter.
  5. Thank you so so so so much everybody! I really appreciate your support
  6. I wanted to put my super big super important goal out there so that way I can't back out. Today, I was planning my trip to Florida For the end of June. My ex-husband's family lives out there and I am taking my 2 year old to see her grandparents, aunts and cousins. Here is the thing - the last time they saw me i was 272 lbs: the only person that knows i had this was my Mother-in-law: I didn't even tell my ex-husband (we are still in the middle of the divorce). As of today, I am down to 229 and my goal is to be 180 when i go out there. In 12 years that i have known them, they have never seen me less then 207 lbs (and that was after a major dieting) - they mostly know me to be at 235-250. I basically need to kick major ass because I want jaws to drop. I am not doing this for anybody BUT me and my daughter however i still want the reaction. If I end up seeing my ex-husband that would just be a plus because he cheated and left me because I was "just too fat". So I am using this as a motivator to stay on track. I have to loose 50 lbs in 5 months - is that possible? I joined online WW today so i can track my food and make sure i am eating healthy. I am already walking 3 miles 5 days a week: started doing Biggest Looser Wii (which by the way kicked my butt) and i am going to start doing yoga 2 times a week. So i can't back down - I need to stick to this for the next 5 months. and after that, I will only need to loose 30 to reach my goal. wish me luck :woot: Stacy
  7. Hi VIP, thank you for responding I know how many points i should have if i didn't have a lap band but i would never be able to eat so many points with the lap band. and i don't want to ask anybody on the actul WW site or meeting as i heard that they are not very band friendly. So i don't want to hear their "strong opinions" lol
  8. This is a question for those who use the Weight Watchers program and points with the band. I would like to start using WW just so that way i can monitor how much i eat. For some reason its easier for me to count points and Protein than calories and protein. However, I am not sure how many points I should have. I started off at 272 @ 5'4" -now i am 229: thanks! Stacy
  9. hi there. I am so sorry about your daughter. I hope she is ok. I got banded on 10/26 - i JUST had my first fill last wednesday and i am donw 43 lbs. i have to tell you that before the fill, i could eat and eat and eat. After 2 weeks of such craziness I felt that if i don't stop now i will damage my band and i will probably cause a lot of damage. So i ended up doing the 5 day test. It brought me back to basics...it got my craving under control and kicked off my weight loss BIG time. right after that i got my first fill. I am not going to lie, this fill is not what i thought it would be, i still can eat more than i think i should HOWEVER, i am now listening to my stomach and not my taste buds, which is a huge difference. My doctor doesn't believe in giving a lot of fills either so i think i might be stuck with this one for a while, but so far its doing its trick. I def. recommand the 5 day pouch test to get you back on track. Good luck:)
  10. hi I am from Northern Jersey and my doctor is Dr. Beartha. He is wonderful
  11. thank you!!! You are doing fantastic yourself!!! and you are right - any walking as better than just sitting on the couch Hopefully your knees will not hurt as much after you drop the weight. good luck
  12. Thanks everybody I think depending on the body type the change is seen differently. I know a lot of overweiight people who do not have a double chin! If you didn't see their full body pictures you would never guess that they are overweight.
  13. I had my surgery on 10/26 - and as of today i am down 38 lbs. I didn't do the pre-op diet so this is all post op and my doctor doesn't do fills until 90 days. So my first fill is on 01/27/10 and i can't wait bc this loss is purely from self control. I lost control during the holidays after which I did the 5 day test and last week alone i lost 6 lbs. I am glad to be back in control but i also see how easy it is to loose control over food. I am not ready to trust myself to eat just small portions of the unhealthy foods. I am eating lots of sea food and drinking water. So far so good
  14. I have read posts where people start loosing their hair a little bit but then it stops and I also read that some people don't. I am almost 3 months out and i am not loosing any hair.. I am doing the following: I am eating 80-100 grams of protein, taking all my vitamins and using Nioxin Shampoo, conditioner and Scalp activating treatment. just a little temporary unpleasantness in this process - compare to the weight loss - not a big deal

i wonder how cream would work. Well, I still have the diet that they gave me and it is not high protein at all. Its mostly good carbs, veggies and 1/2 serving of protein twice a day -which i don't see how you would even get the min of 60-80 that we require. but i think the HCG add to it - not sure. My place lets you do this over mail if you have been on the program before. After i had my baby and tried to do this again, I had my primary do all the blood work and they required me to get my Blood presure and weight checked either by a doctor's office, emt or fire department. The shots and the appetite suppressents - i paid about $200 a month i think. I think i am goign to hold off until my weight loss stops. but if you find anything out about the cream - please let me know. I want to make sure my skin shrinks as much as possible
  16. Exactly!!!!! And i am here if you need that reminder once in a while Keep me posted on your success. Your gym dedication is really inspiring to me.

are you referring to HCG shots? when i lived in FL - i worked with a doctor on my weight loss. this included HCG shots 4-5 days a week and about 900 calories a day diet. I did very well and i guess i did so well that my husband couldn't his hands off me and got pregnant lol! but i lost 40 lbs in like 3-4 months. I was thinking of going back to him however, i don't know what effects hcg can have on the band. I just know taht the low calorie diet made me loose weight and the hcg shots actually helped me loose inches.
  18. Good Morning! So i have been getting a lot of compliments about my weight loss. And i did go down from size 22 to 18 but i wanted to see what others were seeing. So i took a picture just of my face and compared to it before the surgery. I cant believe what a 35 lbs loss can do to my face- I can't even imagine what I will look like when i get to my goal weight. Doc32.doc
  19. Good Morning!<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p> First of all, you are not a failure. You are working hard at working out and eating right and that is far from being a failure. I would strongly recommend meeting with a nutritionist and see what you can do to change up your food intake. I am a great believer one diet doesn't fit all. For some people like me, decreasing my carbs, does the trick. For my best friend, she has to decrease amount of meat she is eating. There is this book that says that depending on your blood type that’s the food that you should avoid: here is the link. http://www.dadamo.com/bloodtype_A.htm. Also, talk to a personal trainer and see what you can do to mix things up as well. <o:p></o:p> You are not a failure by any means! A failure is someone who doesn't do anything. All your hard work WILL pay off! You might need to take a little detour and shake things up. Good luck!
  20. I did horible over the holidays - i ate and ate. I don't have the restriction yet as my first fill is not til end of january. I tried to get back on track and nothing. however - i did the 5 day pouch test and I am all set! i lost 6 lbs in a week. Not only did this give my weight loss a kick (which was just a plus for me): I got away from eating crap. I am not craving bad carbs and back to eating what is on the plan and watching the portions.
  21. You are not sounding mean or cold hearted. I agree you a 100%! Having people eating around you and YOU choosing the healthy foods and the portions is just one of the importat behaivor modifications. I am speaking about myself now: I had no self control and that is why i ended up at 272 lbs. I am always around food however since I got the band in october, it is getting easier and easier to say "no" to the birthday cake or the Cookies. I feel that I am gaining self control which is not only helping with my weight loss but everything else around me! If you don't have the food around you, you will never learn how to be strong and control your portions and choices.
  22. Oh I will kick your butt! Just promise me no tears :w00t:
  23. Jim, Next time I need a reality check - I am going right to you!
  24. I have to agree that exercise is an important tool to get you to loose more weight. After 3 weeks, I stopped loosing weight, so i started walking 30 - 45 min a day, doing Firm work out 5 days a week, yoga and wii Fit. My weight is dropping now and not to mention the inches! as the previous post mentioned, I stay away from Rice, white potatoes, fatty meat and bread. This is partially because when I do eat those things, I get this "oh my god i am so full and now i want to nap" feeling and I try to avoid that as i want to keep my energy up. I do give myself one meal a week to have something but that’s it. For example, last Sunday, I had a slice of pizza with veggies and that was it -but i even got that lethargic feeling after eating that. I eat mostly fish, turkey and chicken breast with veggies and once or twice a week yams. I drink decaf green tea 30 min after each meal and i drink 64-80 oz of Water a day. My Protein is right on point. Whenever I do not drink enough water or have enough protein - that is when i am starving. Otherwise, I am almost never hungry. I eat 3 meals a day with 1 or 2 Snacks in between. Just reevaluate your diet and your exercise and I think things would move right along. Good luck :w00t:
  25. Aww! Your post actually made me cry! (in a good way of course!). I am so happy for you. After all kids are as honest as they get. They will be the first to shout - "look at the fat lady mom!" or my niece says "you are not fat..you are fluffy!" lol So to hear that coming from a kids mouth and the fact that its your own kid..that must be amazing. You know that they are so proud of you and you should be too! have a great weekend skinny mom  Stacy
