Need help looking for a good doctor in mexico
Her question opens it up to anyone experienced or not experienced with Mexican surgeons. She didn't ask " Hello sleevers who had surgery in Mexico, i a self pay looking for a doctor in mexico to get the vsg can only sleevers who had surgery in Mexico point in the right way Opinion 1. a belief or judgment that rests on grounds insufficient to produce complete certainty. 2. a personal view, attitude, or appraisal. 3. the formal expression of a professional judgment: to ask for a second medical opinion. Tiffy has every right to give her opinion whether or not she's had surgery in Mexico or not. Anyone that has been around these boards for more than a day and a half knows Tiffy and I think most people respect her opinion. I'm a little confused as to why she should not be allowed to give it openly, whether anyone agrees with it or not. In my opinion, this really seems like it is a personal attack. We don't all have to agree on the same docs, or opinions, but we all do have the right to voice them!

Is there room for me?

First month review
Lee, it sounds like you are doing fantastic. Keep up the good work. You are correct in that we can't compare ourselves to any others. We all lose at our own rate. Congrats!!

I am OUT OF CONTROL! What's up with that?
Jen, I think many of us ate out of control right before our pre op diets or before surgery. It's just the thought of not being able to do that anymore that makes us want to eat more. Once you get on your pre op diet, just stay focused and you will be fine. If you follow the rules after being sleeved, you'll do great. And, they aren't hard to follow after surgery because your appetite really does change. Good luck to you and best wishes for a uneventful surgery.

am I too old?
You are not to old. I'm 52 and was sleeved in Jan. It's the best thing I've ever done for myself. I wish It would have been available 20 years ago...and I had done it back then. I've lost 36 lbs and feel soooooo much better already. I'm walking/riding bike 4 miles 3 x 4 times a week. Before this surgery, I huffed and puffed to walk 2 blocks. Best of luck to getting everything done so you can move forward.

Onderland feels so wonderful!
I hit onederland today. :thumbup1: I went to my doctors apt yesterday to do a follow up on the clots. Last time I was in they also did an array of blood work to see if I had any other issues (like clotting problems) etc. I'm not really sure how to take the results. The doctor said several areas showed borderline issues, but yet she couldn't really say there is a problem because they are borderline. Not sure what that's suppose to mean!! In the past they had run blood work and said that I had some elevated SED levels that could indicate issues, but they still haven't a clue. I've often wondered if I have Lupus or Fibro as I've had so many issues with joint pain etc. Hopefully all will resolve itself. Back to the blood clots...they are still there. :crying: She was a bit surprised and thought they would have disolved by now. She was also concerned as that arm has a spotty look to it, almost like leopard spots. They are faint and just red around the edges of the spots. I'm scheduled for another Ultra sound at the hospital this week. She wants to compare the ultra sound from 7 weeks ago to see if there is any change. If not, we will need to take a different approach as the aspirin doesn't seem to be having much effect. It's so discouraging because One, it's painful and two I want to start lifting weights and building up some muscles and I can't until the clots are gone. I have been doing 4 miles 3 to 4 times a week. Either bike riding or walking fast paced. So I'll continue doing that until I get clearance from the doc to do strength training. Things overall are going well. I'm getting so accustomed to my sleeve it's almost second nature anymore. It's easy to forget you have one, and take a gulp of something and then spit it out because "oh yeah you can't do that"!!! lol I have had no real food issues. I've been very slow to introduce new things and have tried my very best to avoid bad choices. For the most part I've done really well. Food just doesn't have the same appeal to me anymore. It's not the main focus anymore. How blessed am I? I did try popeyes chicken nuggets as I used to love those preop. Nah....didn't care for them at all. I ate two and tossed them. I won't be trying those again. :sad0: Wishing everyone a fantastic week! :biggrin0:

New revelation today.
It is Tiffy. It's the strangest feeling. It's so hard to put into words where others can understand it. It's just one of those things we all have to experience ourselves. It is liberating, but strange at the same time. After being addicted to food for so many years, it's just "different". It's nice not to focus on food constantly. When I think of how many hours, days I wasted thinking about and consuming food, it makes me sad. I just wish I had done this years ago. :thumbup1:

New revelation today.
Today for the first time, it really hit me that food isn't that important anymore. It's so strange. It used to be all I focused on. Everyday there was JOY in trying to figure out what and where to go to eat. Not anymore. It makes me happy and sad in a sense. Our relationship with food defintely does change. I bet this is how normal people feel. :thumbup1: lol

Chicken
I still have problems with Chicken. I do eat it, but have to take really small bites and chew it to "DEATH" otherwise it just is to dry. If there is a sauce or gravy, that does seem to help it go down. I actually quit eating chicken salad because of it. Even with low fat mayo, it seems to dry.

Ham and Cheese Chicken
Midwest, Yes per 6 oz breast is the way I took it.

Today...
*Very big smile* Congrats!!! That's fantastic.

hic-ups?
New, That was one of the indicators my doc told me to watch for. For some reason, when our tummy gets full we will hiccup. I do it also, and you are right, it is a bit embarrassing. He also said some get a runny nose and that it was very common with many sleevers.

Ham and Cheese Chicken
I found this online the other night and tried it. It was actually very good. Ingredients ? 4 (6-ounce) skinless, boneless chicken breast halves ? 1/4 teaspoon pepper ? 1 ounce very thinly sliced lean cooked ham ? 1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon reduced-fat garlic-flavored cream cheese ? 3 tablespoons dry breadcrumbs ? 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning ? 1 teaspoon grated Parmesan cheese ? 1/2 cup fat-free milk ? Cooking spray ? 1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon reduced-calorie margarine, melted ? 2 teaspoons lemon juice ? Dash of paprika Preparation Preheat oven to 350?. Place chicken between 2 sheets of heavy-duty plastic wrap; flatten to 1/4-inch thickness, using a rolling pin. Sprinkle with pepper. Place one-fourth of ham on each chicken breast half. Spread cream cheese evenly over ham. Roll up chicken, starting with short end and tucking ends under. Secure with wooden picks. Combine breadcrumbs, Italian seasoning, and Parmesan cheese. Dip chicken rolls in milk, and dredge in breadcrumb mixture. Place, seam sides down, in a baking dish coated with cooking spray. Combine margarine and lemon juice; drizzle over chicken. Sprinkle with paprika. Bake, uncovered, at 350? for 30 minutes or until tender. To serve, remove wooden picks, and slice. Nutritional Info ? CALORIES 245 (0.0% from fat) ?
