Congratulations on a surgery date. I would be happy to talk to you. I am pretty new myself 6 months post op but I have had no problems at all. Sometimes people just do not understand what is feels like. My husband is very supportive but he weights the same as when I married him 29 years ago. So he understands but at the same time how can he really? I have lost 51 lbs in 6 months, I did not have to do pre op diet. A couple of women I met on the boards here started our own support group we meet once a month for coffee. So if your Dr has a support group I would start going now. It helps so much to find out things that seem hard or strange to you are normal because other people are going throught them too. Many people this board and are so supportive they have helped me a lot. Hang in there it is all worth it!!!!

You would not want any girls like that anyway. Just let it motivate you but let the anger go they are not worth it. You sound like a very nice person and muscles sound good. My husband married me when I was overweight and we have been married 29 years. People who are all about outside instead of inside will be dissappointed in a few years when middle age set in.

I still have free-will given by God to make my own decisions. Just wondering what you think happens when you die. Just death or something else? Also I did not mean to say you are anyone else is hopeless. I deal with depression everyday and I have hope but being a Christian is not always an easy journey. Things happen to us we do not understand. If I sleep in on Sunday I do not fill guilty, God didn't say you had to be in service every Sunday. It is a day of rest you know.

What you said could not be more true. Unless you expereince the love and forgiveness and the one on one daily relationship with God it is hard to explain what it is really like. But for me it is never being alone again in my life and knowing that one day I bow down to my Lord and Savior and be totally amazed. How do you live without hope? Knowing that there is a Heaven and a Hell and taking the chance that you could end up in hell. Our God is a merciful loving God but His Word lays out the facts for living HIS way. I that is what He wants His Way. Nobody can live in this world and not believe in evil. It is everywhere. satan is as real as God is. He knows the name of Jesus as well as I do. If you have a choice how can you not believe? Hard for me to understand. But if you put your faith in God you too will never be alone and one day be with Him.

Sorry to hear about your problems and the scare of cancer. Must be terrible.Your weighloss is something to be so proud of. It shows that you are a strong person. My brother just die a month ago from an overdose of vicodin For the first week I would not even let the thought in my head to return to my best friend, my comfort . . . food. But in the past 2 weeks I have longed for the comfort that I think only food can do for me. I have let myself break some rules. But we both know after the food goes past our lips it is longer comfort but guilt that results. Someone told me of a book called “Feeding the hungry heart” about emotional eating. You can buy it on Amazon for $10 new or less for used. I am going to order me a copy. Maybe it would be a good book for you too. As far as counseling goes someplaces offer free or reduced price counseling. I did 2½ years of counceling with a Christian Counselor about 5 years ago and still return when I feel it is needed. I just started 2 weeks ago again because I do not relate to death as normal people do. Can't find a counselor find a friend that has time to listen to your worries and thoughts. Or write them down anything to get those feeling out once they are written or spoken they are not that scary anymore I do believe in prayer though and maybe you do to. I will be praying that God will be with you on this journey you are taking and that He will wrap His protection and love around us and comfort us in everyway. That He will remind us and show us we are never alone. I will pray that He will heal your body from any form of cancer. That you will be worry free as you rest in the knowledge that He is taking care of you. I don' believe the God that I believe in wants people to try force other people to changes their minds about what they themselves believe. But He does tell us to go out and tell the Good news of what we know or believe then it is up to God to do His work and you either respond or your don't. So simple.

I took Zoloft for about 5 years, then switched to Lexapro and I have been banded for 6 months and have no trouble taking it. I drink a cup of decaf coffee in the morning and then take my pills. No problem. If you have to switch lexapro is very much like zoloft with no bad side effects for me.

I get the hiccups from hell whenever I eat too fast. maybe you are drinking too fast or too big of gulps??

“Weight Loss Surgery for Dummies”, “Lap-Band Companion”, “Weightloss Surgery with the Adjustable Gastric Band”. I bought these off amazon and like them. They will be really good for you if you have not been banded yet. They explain the whole process. Hope that helps.

Throughout history there have been many gods, but they are all dead reproductions made out of cement or other materials . . . BUT I serve a living God, the Creator of all, one that come to earth and became a man, Jesus. Died for our sins return to Heaven and sits on the right hand of God. God is real and He lives within my heart. God is the best 3 in one- God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. I would not want to live one day in this world without Him. If you do not know Him you do not know what you are missing.

Wanted to add to my post. One Dr. told me that sometimes people mostly young girls who want to pretend to overdose by taking pain relievers (maybe for needed attention or other reasons) do not realize that there is a short window of time to save yourself from this drug or anything that contains acetaminophen. According to this Dr it is terrible when the Dr has to tell the parents it is too late the liver is gone. So please, please take meds only as you should. It is not worth your life.

Not for me just some pain till it goes down or comes up. But you can breath just fine. I can usually just cough and it pops up and I spit it out. Only happens when i do not chew good

I would suggest see a counselor to see if it might be a mental thing knowing the band is in there. I was supprised some people are just bugged about something stange being in their body. I go to counseling and it has help me some much. I go to a Christian counseler my Pastor found through my Church assocation (Baptist) Maybe it would help you not be so stressed out with the band. It is worth a try before you have it taken out. Maybe speak to anther sugeon, maybe they can help you with whatever problem you are having. Let me know if i can help anyway Cheri

I enjoyed the meeting so much today!! Everyone was so nice. I could have sit there all day. We had five people in all different stages of being banded. Met some new people too they were so nice and I hope everyone will come to the next one. I also enjoyed hearing someone in the group say how much she depends on God to help her get through this because I totally agree and also do. Anyone who wants to come join us like Andrew hopefully that is not the superbowl or something. Is it? I just thought about that Cheri Just checked it is not the Superbowl. Come if you can!! 2:00 pm

The headaches will only lasy 3 days. I have always drank caffeine free diet coke because I take anxiety meds and the caffeine is not good for the anxiety. I have been banded 6 months and the last diet coke I had my husband had to pry the bottle out of my hands at midnight before my surgey. I really miss diet coke. You can drink a cup of coffee for the caffeine. I drink coffee decaf. I have never found anthing as good a my diet coke1 Cheri

Kristi99 (thread starter) and I both have the same surgeon and he is very nice and very slow with the fills. He wants people to learn new way of eating not just get filled as fast as you can. I have been banded for 6 months and only have 3cc's. I am glad he goes slow so I can get use to everything slowly. When I am ready to leave after my 3 fills I always ask when should I come back and he usually says lose 15 lbs and then come back. I have only lost 50 lbs so far, but I happy that he has done this slow. Hang in there Kristi99 it will get better for you. Cheri

In the beginning walking is the best. Walk outside when pretty and at the mall when bad weather. I am 6 month post op and work out pretty hard but started out with alot of walking. You can get the video “Walk away the Pounds” and walk in your home. I have that tape, I like it! Good luck!!

This post makes me sick! Everytime I check the new post and see this listed it makes me sick. some thing you should just not talk about whether you are doing them or not. Just my opinion!
