  1. WLS Support Meeting THIS SATURDAY JULY 21 at Casa Ole in Alvin on Hwy 6 and 1:00 pm. All types of surgeries all different ages. My Cell is 409-256-9236 cheri
  2. I remember going to sleep with my stomach growling! It was terrible but you can make it. I did and so many other people did too. Its not worth risking anything. cheri
  3. If you have had your LapBand 3 years and only lost 1 lb. you have more to worry about than vomiting up liquid. First I find this post hard to believe it is true. Come on you would have already seen your doctor, many, many times. We are people here who are serious about our journey with the band and you are wasting people's time. I just wasted 3 minutes answering this. Cheri
  4. Anyone use Activella it is a hormone replacement drug used to treat the symptoms of menopause. If you have or know someone who has I would love to hear what it did for them or you good or bad if you would. The reviews on this are very scary as with most drugs, so before I take any I am researching it everyway I can. Cheri

  7. Send your coworker and e-mail with a link that explains the procedure. So many people are not educated about WLS. Maybe instead of us all getting mad educate someone. You don't need their approval but how nice to educate them. Cheri
  8. I think if you ask a question you have to know you are gonna get all types of answers because we are all different people with our own opinions. If you don't want what people really think I say don't ask. I have never seen people be “evil” sometimes the truth hurts us all! cheri
  9. I just don't understand the reason to lie. People lie too easy. Why? These are suppose to be your friends. I do not lie to my friends. Tell them something that is the truth . . . your trying to be more healthy and that you are gonna stick to it. Cheri
  10. Look across the top and you can click on it. Sometimes I go in there and them go back in a minute to see if they talked when I left and they did. lol cheri
  11. It is weird you go in there and people are in there talking and then they just stop when you come in announced by a door bell. I want to know what they do in there. Once there were 4 people in there and I spoke to each one one at a time and NOTHING!! cheri
  12. RobinGirl the look on you face is how I feel all the time!! Love the picture cheri
  13. It is bugging the heck out of me!!!! cheri
  14. I mean really I go in there a couple of times and everything stops and nobody will say a word, who talks in there? cheri
  15. It is just me or do people really talk in there? Everytime I go in everything stops and people leave. I do not mind talking to myself but don't like to answer my own questions. So is it just me or is it boring in there?? cheri
  16. I think your friends will respect you are watching what you eat. If it was me I would just say “Your so funny if I was as skinny as you I would eat what I wanted to also . . . but I not so I am watching what I eat” and let it go. Don't give yourself an excuse to fall back into bad habits cause they will come back still skinny and you will come back with extra pounds. Once you slip into the world of bad habits for that many days it will be so hard to start over. It would be nice to come back from a great vacation and be down a few pounds!!! Cheri
  17. It hard but you all can do it! Just imagine if you were in a country where there is no food for you, we would be so happy for our Protein shakes and popsicles and nice clean Water. It is only for a month but so worth it! Keep up the hard work (I know suffering) time will past. Go get your nails done, buy some new perfume, read some new books , take a bubble bath when your hungry. Call a friend and once you start talking hunger will pass or seem not be so important. Anything to take your mind off it! You will be so happy when it is over and that you made it! If I can do it I know you can make it too! A cup of coffee really helped me everytime! cheri
  18. Mine eyes Water and I know to go to the bathroom even if someone is talking to me . . . gonna run almost Cheri
  19. I doubt you can feel band at this point maybe the port. But at 3 years out I can feel food pass through my band. I think it is our mind messing with us as to feeling band at that stage but I am not a Dr. cheri
  20. I you can leave off the meat tenderizer and lime juice I would it is gross but worked! cheri
  21. coffee is a good hunger killer if dr say no caffine just do decaf. Also try taking a Protein shake and freezing it and then eat it like ice cream. I put mine in the blender and fluff it up and then freeze about an hour and blend again so it will stay fluffy and let it freeze. It will be liquid when it goes down. I am 3 years out and still do that everyday. I takes about 45 minutes to eat it and feels like ice cream. cheri
  22. I might hold a record for being stuck, last Christmas/New Years I was stuck about 4 day, yes 4 days. I could get liquids down pretty much but it gurgled all the way down past whatever it was I was stuck on. It did not hurt but was uncomfortable. Trust me that is not the norm. It was hard to see DR during weekend holidays and was not going to ER as I knew what it was and I could still drink slowly. I lived on these boards for 4 days looking for answers there is a whole thread about it. Sometimes I get stuck but because I am not eating slow enough and the next bite goes on top of it (what is already stuck) and then it gets worse. Go slow and make sure each bite goes through before you eat the next one. The first 2 years if I got stuck it would never go through always had to come up. But now 3 years out it will pass in minutes or hours. It can be scary and I am prone to panic attacks so I just have to keep reminding myself I will be okay. I never could figure out why it would NEVER go down, but I am not filled with saline like most people but Omnipaque that my Dr used on his people. My understanding is that is is thicker and is not as flexable as saline might be in the band. I ended my 4 day stuck with what someone called “drano”. I would not suggest it unless it is an emergency it was gross but I did it 2 times in ten minutes and it was all over. “Drano”: Hot diet coke (not heated just not cold) mixed with meat tenderizer and lime juice. You MUST be in bathroom to do this. Drink a big gulp and it goes down and right back up like a rocket along with whatever is stuck. It is nasty but it works and after 4 days I would do almost anything. It worked but I would not do it except in extreme cases. I think it is better to let it pass on it's own. Nothing else has worked for me. I have friends that get stuck and they say it hurts really bad and others who say it is just uncomfortable. cheri
  23. Are you still on liquids? cheri
  24. I was so hungry the first month, all night long my stomach would beg for food. I cried some too. My friend was gone . . . my food! But after my 2nd fill I did lose all hunger and 3 years later do not have it. It is a blessing but keeps you from eating 3 meals a day small portions like we should. Now headhunger that is another story . . . .still working on that cheri
  25. I walked with a small pillow against my stomach and it helped with any pain while walking. Congratulations! Get plenty of rest! Cheri
