Hi all. Can anyone tell me how long I will be gurgling? My kids here me coming two rooms away. If I'm drinking I gurgle. Walking and gurgling. It is quite anoying and really a lot of discomfort. Especially in my shoulder and between my breasts. Any suggestions? Thoughts? Thanx Sheri

Well, I"ve found out what the problem was. My band had 3.5 cc in it and my stoma was swollen almost shut. Couldnt drink, eat nothing. I've just come back from the clinic and they removed all the fluid until my stitches come out. Then they will consider putting some in again. Since Wednesday, so two days, I"ve lost an additional 3.5 pounds. They have me back on clear fluids until tomorrow. I don't really care...I can breathe and the gas is amost at zero. What a change. I"m so glad I called them. Thanx everyone for your support. My gatorade and I are going to nap. I hope. Have a wonderful banded day. Sheri:thumbup: -
Oh, I am so sorry your having a lousy time of it. Me to. Well I was until I talked to the surgeon. When we finished talking he said he wanted me into the clinic right away. I had 3.5 ccs in my band already, but due to the extra swelling related to my hernia repair(didn't even know it was there) I was starving. I went in, and within 5 minutes, I could breath and the pain was 200% less. I'm so happy. I'm back to clear fluids until I get my electrolytes back in line, but still.
I'm going to try resting again soon. Like you, I"m having a bad time sleeping.
Take good care. We will be smoking hot in no time flat. Actually, healthy is my aim. HOt is a bonus!!!

Hi there. Just checking in again. I had mine done yesterday, not enjoying day two at all. Too much gas and all I do is gurgle. Sheeesh. However, it's over and done and now I can heal and get going with my life.
How are you doing? Improving? Thrilled with everything? Hungry?
I'm getting coffee tomorrow. I almost can't stand the wait.

Hey Marmar, I'm also a self pay and had my sugery today. He said he found and repaired my own hiatis hernia. No additional charges were incurred. Maybe ask you surgeon if that is the same for you. ANd good luck. Sheri:thumbup:

Debster I'm so sorry. If you have been sent home, the hope is you are stable enough to be there. That would hopefully mean your condition is treatable and you will be back for your band in no time. And as hard as it is, please be a patient patient. Please take care Sheri -

This is my 12th day on it and I've lost 20 pounds so far. How about you? When did your pre op diet start? The only thing I really really miss is my coffee. I can't drink it black. I've always used skim milk in it and can't wait until the 2nd or 3rd day post op. Then I can have it....with glee. I'm so ready for it. I can't wait. Still nervous, but just to get it over with. Ok, back to work for me. Keep us all posted on how you are doing. Sheri -

Hey Stacey. Leave some of that cow for me!!! I'm not sure about your doc, but mine told me after my surgery, which is wednesday, that when I get to full fluids I could have the shakes again. Not sure how you feel about yours, but I loved mine. I drink one of those and I have to remind myself I've got to eat. Just a thought. Do you have a support person at the clinic/hospital where you were banded? They might have some suggestions too. Hope you are feeling less hungary. Sheri -
Wow, I weighed myself today. In less than 2 weeks I've lost almost 20 pounds. It never came off me this easily before. Guess when it's your money being used it is important to get the biggest bang for my buck. I actually LOVE the Meditrim shakes. I got chocolate and it is awesome. I read someones blog that indicated they were putting extracts in theirs. Maybe when I'm on the other side. But for now, not so much. I really like them. I'm not sure why, but I've gotten a bit more hungry today. I am thinking it's because of the weekend. Or, nerves. My surgery is Wednesday and that is coming quite quickly. Don't get me wrong, I can't wait. I dont need to be anything more than healthy. I don't need or want to wear a bikini. I don't need or want to wear a strapless/backless/mini anything. I just need the knowledge that I've done everything possible to be healthy. I'll keep you posted. Sheri

I'm so glad to hear things are improving and "working" their way out. I know that is always what we look for in hospital. Can he/she break wind. If not, sorry about your luck, you have to stay an extra day. Hard as this might be to believe, males pass air a lot faster than women. Who would have guessed?
I hope you have a lovely rest and are ready to face the world again.
Me, I'm getting ready to put my feet up. I feel like a bit of a sloth today and I'm not sure why.

Just checking up on you to see how you are doing today. Well I hope. Hope your weather is better than ours. It has been rapid cycling through massive thunderstorms since this morning. I'm pretty sure you won't sleep well through that.

:cool2: I picked up the phone, how could I know? The surgery clinic called me and said if it could be arranged, they would lilke to move my surgery to wednesday, July 29/09. UP from July 31/09. On the calendar, that is only two days, no biggie right? However, in my mind I don't think I was thinking about that. I hung up the phone smiling. Now I'm breathing really hard and trying to remember when I was cleared to make decisions for myself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thoughts? Words of wisdom? Anything? :thumbup:I want this so bad, but the scared out of my shorts part just kicked in big. Thanx for letting me vent.

So I was sitting in my office minding my own business when the phone rang. The caller ID said it was the SWLC so I answered. Hmmm can you just imagine my shock when the voice at the other end, put into words what I had just been thinking? I was thinking how I wanted this to be moving faster and to be over. She called to see if we could arrange my surgery to be moved up two days. I will have to take an additional 2 days off, but quite honestly, I"m thinking that is just fine. Especially since I've not missed a day since I started. I arranged everything to move up, including training my temporary replacement. She doens't plan to do anything more than answer the phone. Perfect. My husband doesn't have anything planned for the new day. Again, Perfect. It's like the Good Lord is saying, go for it. Sheesh, at least I hope that's what he's saying!!! Anyway, almost there.

Thanx all. I'm much calmer now. hahaha...my husband isn't sure what to do with me, so he chose to take me garage saling. I spend a bit of money and relax a bit. I"m much calmer now, but will no doubt panic a bit the morning of. I have wanted this for so long. I"ve tried every diet in the book. Slim fast, Susan Powter, etc. I"ve tried exercise combined with diet. I've toned and I've actually accomplished a lot. And then I started to experience fractures in my feet. I'd be walking/running/ standing etc and a bone would break. 4 in less than 5 years. We found out my bones are great, but my ligaments suck. So I sat out of fear of breaking something again and I grew. Not intellectually, but posteriorly. Since the fractures, all the workouts I tried caused so much physical pain I had to stop. Of course that lead to eating again and more self loathing. So on Wednesday, scared or otherwise, I will be there. And, when I wake up(Ihope), I will smile an know I took the biggest step of my life. I can't wait. Thanx for your wonderful words and thanx for letting me vent. Sheri:tongue:

Hi there. I'm new. I am not banded yet. My surgery is on Friday, July 31/09 in Mississauga. Anyone else from here? Little nervous, very excited. Quite scared. :thumbup:

Yipeeeeeeee. The clinic just called and asked me to move my surgery up from July 31 to July 29/09!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:
