    4th of July Challenge!

    I gained 1 pound this week, some of it is out of control eating and less exercise and some of it is TOM was just here! No excuses for next week!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. Since I have good restriction and I am eating less food, I only get bowel movement once every 2-3 days which is very unusual for me because I used to go daily. My question is, is this normal after getting restriction and after you start eating less food? Please let me know. Do you think I need a stool softener to go daily? Thanks in advance.

    4th of July Challenge!

    I lost 1.4lbs this week which is surprising because I am a slow loser............but I am very happy for it.:thumbup:
  4. I had surgery in June 2009 that is 10 months ago and I have lost only 30lbs so far. I am happy for my slow loss bcoz it is better to lose some than gain. I wish I have lost 60-80lbs like others by now. It took 5-6 fills before I felt the restriction. Now I eat very less, dont feel constantly hungry but I am not loosing fast. I am taking it at face value as there are no other options for me. I do have some drawbacks though as I am still eating sweets and going to gym only 2x a week. If I can work on some of the issues may be I will lose some more weight but willpower is not there. Hang in, think positive.....things will be better slowly.:thumbup:

    Evening hunger

    I have same problem!!!!!!!! I use only 500 calories until 4pm then BOOM!!!!!!!! I cant stop eating after 4pm, something happens to my body that it just craves food and sweets. I talked to my doc about it and he suggested 2 things: 1) Fiber plus bars for sweet tooth which has only 7gm of sugar 2) eat tbsp or two of peanut butter which has lot of fat and it tricks our brains in thinking that we are full and cravings go away. Both options are working pretty good for me. Give it a try.............

    I used to take topomax in the past and it worked good at low dose for appetite supression but when I took it at high doses I had bad side effects.

    Ready to give up

    Semper4life, Please dont give up!!!!!!! You are doing wayyyyyyyyy better than me. I had surgery june 30th and lost only 21lbs. You are atleast loosing inches so don't underestimate that. May be u r building muscle thats why u dont see a weight loss, but it will happen soon. Keep us posted.
  9. I was banded June 30th 2009, very close to you all. I had 5 fills and still not good restriction. I lost only 21 lbs since the surgery. Glad to know you all are losing so well...........
  10. What about laughing cow light cheese wedges, they r really creamy, comes in different flavors and are only 35 calories for a wedge. I love that stuff.........
  11. Hi, I am trying to find any vegetarian support group on this website? Can't find one. If you are vegetarian please let me know what you eat in a day? I am not losing weight and part of the problem is being vegetarian because I can't find foods which are not slider and keep me full. I eat rice, lentils and bread mainly. I do protein shakes daily. Please, share your ideas, menus, successes, failures and recipes here to help me with my plateu.

  13. No, I dont eat chicken or fish. In the past I have tried few bites of chicken but I dont like to eat it anymore. I do love me some Beans but I eat 1-2 times a week only, may be I need to make it a daily affair. I like tofu some but not whole lot, I will try experimenting with it. Greek yogurt dosen't fill me up unless I eat 2-3 for a snack. I think i need a fill desperately, I have appt for march 22nd. RedSox90, where do you buy weight watchers bread, I didn't see it here in mississippi. The beans and corn recipe is sooo good, I am going to try it. Thx.

    80 grams of protein!!

    Are you taking any prescription meds? I suggest taking Centrum silver which has zinc and selenium in it which helps with hair loss a lot.
  15. I do eat egg but I dont like eating every day. Besides if egg is fried, boiled or scrambled it gets stuck so I have to eat like egg salad with mayo in it. I will try to eat more whole grain legumes as you said. I have also switched to whole wheat bread which tastes like cardboard so if you have any suggestions which bread type tastes good let me know.

  18. hi minimeme, thanks for support. My day was better after venting out but still snacked quite bit in the evening. I need to get grip on myself soon b4 its too late.

  19. I was doing so well and was losing weight slowly then one fine day I saw 3 lbs weight gain on the scale(I weigh myself almost daily) and that's it! I lost all my motivation and now I am eating junk food and sweets. I still dont eat lunch and only drink Protein shake(made with banana in it) for lunch which has 78 gms of protein, dont know the carbs. I eat small dinner which is either cracked wheat with lentils or rice and vegetables. I do use yogurt with dinner. I snack on bread or now a days whatever i can find. I am Indian and our staple is rice and bread and i dont know how to avoid carbs all together. I am also vegeterian on top of all this and have slow slow slow metabolism. I feel sooo frustrated with myself and my weight gain. Today I joined the gym and could only do 10 min of trademill b4 i gave up. So, why am i self sabotaging like that? Why do i gain 3lbs when i dont even eat lunch? I thought giving up lunch was the best thing i could do. Sorry i am rambling but can't help it. Help me here please............
  20. Sometimes I wonder my poor efforts towards weight loss specially exercise is coming from my mental picture of not feeling that fat. Do you think our weight loss efforts are what our mental picture is?
  21. I recently went for a vacation for 4wks and took lot of pictures. When came home and watched my own pictures I was very disgusted with myself as I looked wayyyyyyyyy too much fat, out of shape and flabby. I was surprised that in reality I dont feel that fat unless I am looking into big mirror or watching my own photographs. So, I was wondering if any of you feel the same way? I mean do you feel fat or don't feel fat when in reality you are obese? Just curious to know how different people feel differently or I am the one who has a problem! THX.
  22. I went to my Dr's office today and nurse told me about a new protein drink called oh yeah. I went to Gnc and tried vanilla flavor which is really good in taste. It has 32 gm of protein. They also have bars if u would like to try. I bought the bar too but haven't tried yet.

    Ya, they kept me full for 3-4 hrs though I tried them only couple of times only. They taste good but are very pricey 2.99$ for 1 bottle at GNC. Hope that helps.....

    Update: well I went to my dr today and had 1cc unfillI . I can drink protein shakes comfortably. I haven't tried anything else but I think I am going to be ok. Thanks u all
