  3. Well said....wishin u both the very best luck!
  4. I understand the pain, people will look at u as if ur a failure, its ok though, show them that with patience, u will get there Insurance did cover my revision..QUICK TIP: If ur lookin to get a revision, some insurance companies make u do a 6 month supervised weight loss program. YOU DO NOT NEED TO DO THIS! I WAS LIKE THE HELL WITH THIS! LMAO I SPENT ALL THESE YEARS STUGGLING WITH THIS DAMN BAND N YALL GONNA ASK ME FOR ANOTHER 6 MONTHS? I CALLED MY LAP BAND DOC N ASKED THEM TO FAX ALL MY DOCUMENTS TO MY NEW DOCTOR AND I HAD MY NEW DOCTOR FAX ALL MY PAST LAP BAND DOCUMENTED VISITS TO MY INSURANCE COMPANY N THATS WAY MORE THAN 6 MONTHS ,THAT COVERED LIKE 2 YEARS...I WAS APPROVED RIGHT AWAY...JUST THOUGHT I THROW THAT TIP OUT THERE...SORRY TO WRITE IN CAPS IM JUST STRESSIN THE IMPORTANCE OF APPEALING IF THEY TRY TO THROW THAT AT U GUYS
  5. Omg no not the lap band! Stay away lol
  6. I would sign up...Im just sooooo glad I got the band removed and got the sleeve done...Check my page to see my video of my results, the sleeve truly does help...Best decision ever I pray u all get a revison soon! Best of luck to u all and stay positive!
  7. Feeling and looking good...Being comfortable in my own skin...Being accepted...Feeling normal, being able to breathe
  8. Thats very true and well said. I think many people just have a fear of failing which is normal. We tried everthing in the books and nothing seems to work. So after under going weight loss surgury, some want to see rapid results....Realistically, the only right thing to do is just follow doctors orders and the weight will come off...Dont be surprised as to why ur not losing weight if your eating carbs and not enough protein! I had to seriously get rid of the carbs and listen to my doctor to lose this weight. I prob would have lost even more if I realllyyyyy listened to him lmao but no one is perfect we all make mistakes...I'm only 20 pounds away from my goal. Although Im not losing weight, I am losing fat and gaining muscle. I will never question why Im not losing weight or why im in a stall because I already kno the answer! And I already know how to get back on track..Always speak to your doctor when you feel like things arent working well, there is always a reason behind it..Just dont panic
  9. Yesterday I celebrated my 1 year Gastric Sleeve post op (Revision from lap band) So glad I got the revision cause I was going NOWHERE with the band!
  10. Sorry that u have to go through that, I never experienced anything but a strong sense of smell and ofcourse having to take small bites...I do believe it will get better for you... hang in there, tomorrow is a brand new day!
  11. Feeling and looking good! Finally lol...I celebrated my 25th bday on a cruise (my 3rd cruise) and Lord knows I had a difficult time with following rules smh think I gained a few pounds, scared to check but I enjoyed taking pics everyday, I went horseback riding for ONCE in my life (lovedddd it) and I did the jet ski...So happy that I chose to have my lap band removed and do the gastric sleeve..Next month will be 1 year post op for me...This is my happy moment and I pray that everyone will be able to experience these types of moments. Below are some pics
  12. I too wish I knew about the Sleeve before doing the lapband. Honestly, you need alot of will power with the band, something I lacked thats why I wanted to get weightloss surgury to begin with! The band just makes it uncomfortable to eat, period. No restrcitions for me....The sleeve, man this is a miracle...Im confortable eating everything and I get restriction, makes me want to eat healthy forever!...Next month makes 1 year and im 20 pounds away from my goal! I strongly recommend a revision to the sleeve if your sturggling just dont stay with the band you will regret not doing something
  13. Thanks so much! Tina, hang in there! I know it sucks, trust me I was the same way. Sometimes I forgot I even had the lap band! and if your too tight, you end up throwin up, thats how I lost most of my weight. Until my mom told me enough is enough and that I have to eat! Once I got a slight unfill, it was all over! lol man you dont have to worry about that with the sleeve. Everyday is the same! you eat in small portions and your satisfied. All types of food goes down now. This is the only thing that works for me I hope you get a revision if thats what you want. Goodluck
  14. Lol well glad ur feeling better!
  15. Thanks so much for all of ur responses! I'm gonna see my doc tomorrow so I'm gonna look into a few options..u ladies be safe! Kristina sorry to hear bout ur blood clot...Hope ur feeling well
  16. Is anyone on birth control? If so are u dealing with weight gain? I was on the pill for a month n quickly got off cuz I felt bloated then my legs started to hurt I panicked n thought I would get a blood clot...I'm gonna speak to my doctor tomorrow though..just wondering do all birth control make u bloated?
  17. I felt like that in the beginning, but once the weight started melting off my body and I got healthier and sexier, omg I do not miss food lol I still have my bad cheat days, but overall, so thanful for the sleeve..Im sure u wont be sad a year out!
  18. Just wanted to share my weight loss struggle! I had the lap band in 2009 lost about 60 pounds in 1 year. Everyday was a struggle, and for about 2 years I never found true restriction and would only lose weight by not eating and/or throwing up...Alot of foods just would not go down at all. I pretty much gained back all of the weight and accepted that I was a lap band failure. I know a few people who failed with the band, it happens, but what's not ok is giving up. I can only speak for myself, and the lap band was not the best tool for ME. I can honestly say, I have never been more pleased with my results with the gastric sleeve. I can actually eat dense protein now without feeling stuck or throwing up, I actually can eat anything/everything in small portions and stay satisfiried. I am 8 months post op and have lost more than 80 pounds since June, In total from my heaviest its 102lbs! I'm not tryna bash the lap band, I just want those who are still struggling for years to know that there is still hope! You may want to look into getting a revision to the gastric sleeve. Congrats to those who have reached their goals with the band. Goodluck to u all...Below is my weight loss video...Dr.David Buchin is the doctor you would want to see if u live in NY and are interested in the sleeve
  19. Only regret was when I woke up and was in pain I was like ohhh myyy gosh what did I do?! Lol but that lasted for like 5 min (same reaction when I had the lapband)...it will prob happen to most lol just cause your thinking holy crap will I really be able to eat again??? What if something went wrong and I don't know it yet lol But overall I have no complaints at all! I'm 35 pounds away from my goal! And with time, ur stomach stretches out a lil bit so u can actually eat more...right now I'm 8 months post op and I loveeeeeeeeeeee where I'm at! I feel soo normal it's not even funny, there is nothing I cannot eat! Plus I still feel full after a good sized portion....my revision from the band to the sleeve is the best thing that I did for myself
