Was able to eat 2 hard shell tacos today... Is that considered a lot?
mikeross replied to mikeross's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think you have a very tight sleeve, I felt like I could eat more after the first 1... surprised I finished it in so quickly. Props on the Vblogs... I follow a few vsg guys on youtube and added you to my list. No doubt... I few weeks back I made a pizza with "flatout bread" for the crust. Its a very thin low carb/cal bread that a lot of people use as a pizza crust. I literally had 3 bites and was stuffed. I am convinced it was the bread. I bet I couldn't eat half a soft taco... well maybe just 1 hehe. I agree... Some days I breeze through eating my lean Protein and some days its a challenge. These tacos are not to bad but only something I will use to treat myself once and awhile. I think I am a little too strict with my diet and exercise and might include some type of cheat meal in the future. Taco supreme with all the fixings... Was able to eat 2 hard shell tacos today... Is that considered a lot?

Thanks for the replies guys. I just wanted to note that this isnt a "OMG I cheated" thread or "help me get back on track" post. This is a "I hit my goal of 50lbs lost since surgery in 2 months so I decided to eat 2 tacos" thread lol. I eat on average about 10oz of lean Protein in the form of steak, chicken breast or pork tenderloin daily, salmon once in awhile. That 10oz is usually split into 3 meals or 2 bigger ones. It takes me about 20-40mins to eat 3-4oz of meat. I can eat the first 2oz pretty quickly then takes about 20mins to eat the other 2oz. I force myself to finish all 4oz for the protein intake. With that said I do think these tacos compact easily in the sleeve. The insides of one of these taco bell tacos isnt that much especially if you look at really how little beef is inside one. The shells, if chewed properly, can be broken down to less than a 1/4cup. I was just a little surprised I was able to eat them both and feel great afterwards. If I tried to eat 4oz of chicken in 10mins I would be foaming and feeling very uncomfortable. Again, thanks for the replies.... -

great job... any tips you can offer. -
I drink 1 protein shake like this every day before going to the gym... the caffeine acts as a preworkout supplement.

you know a whole banana has almost 30g of carbs right? If your trying to lose and not maintain I would not eat them.

My weight still fluctuates upwards of 4-5lbs in a matter of a day or two. I actually hit an all time low of 260lbs early morning 3 days ago. Yesterday I was up to 264lbs in the evening. This morning I wake up and back down to 261lbs. Get use to it because this is how my weight loss has been for the last 8 weeks post op.

I actually sent him the same private message... I hear he has a new desktop background

Didn't you get my private message? Must have sent it to the wrong person

6 weeks post weight loss
mikeross replied to mrsmsp's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Its normal... Its not so much a gain but more so a fluctuation. I go up and down 3-4 pounds once I hit an all time low. A week or so goes by and I break the mini stall, hit an all time new low and fluctuate 3-4 pounds and do it all over again. I am approaching my 8 weeks post op and have gone through this 4 times... didnt start this pattern until end of second week. -
wow upwards of 1000 cal at the gym... what are you doing. I do about 45min of heavy lifting followed by 30mins HIIT cardio and might burn 600.
-
I would also recommend a casein protein powder... its a slow digesting protein that keeps you in a anabolic state while your sleeping.

What should be tested during labs/blood work? Any specifics....
mikeross posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was self pay, had the sleeve done in Mexico. I am approaching my 2 month mark and had not had a follow up appointment yet... actually my PCP doesnt even know I had the sleeve. I did have blood work done about a month before getting my sleeve done so there is something to compare to. Anyways, I wanted to ask if there are any specific test that needs to be added to the basic lab work. My doctor specializes with babies but is also my PCP... dont ask lol. He probably doesn't even know what the sleeve is. In my area there are only 2 sleeve DR and I bet neither would be willing to see me as a patient; they are both very busy practices with appointments being booked several months in advance and their surgery wait list is over 3 years. Chances are they dont have time for a mexico patient when they cant even service their own. I am planning to see my pcp soon and request blood work to be done. I just wanted to know if there are any specific things I should ask be included in my labs. thanks -
I drink a cup every day as my preworkout shake. I make my coffee, wait for it to cool down a little, add my protein, glutamine, calcium and drink it about an hour before my workout. Gives me a nice little pump in the gym. I started doing this at week 5. There are plenty of members here who drink coffee daily... some upwards of 4-5 cups a day.

jack3d changed their formula... not sure how long ago. That could be the reason for the mix reviews. I read that original recipe was pretty crazy.

I love the threads where people complain about stalls and slow loss but in the same post write about their lack of water, protein and exercise ect; They create a thread looking for answers when the answer to their problem is in their post. geezz I'm an ass

looking good... big difference.

HOW MUCH CALCIUM SHOULD I TAKE?!
mikeross replied to dynamitetee's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I take 2 500mg UpcalD packets and at least another 500mg from food I eat... 1500mg daily on average. 3500mg daily is way overkill and not needed IMO. -
January Sleevers thread - how is everyone doing?
mikeross replied to canuckpaisa's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
sleeved on the 22nd... down 49lbs since surgery day. -
wow 100lbs in 3 months... is that all post op? whats the secret to your success? what was your weight day of surgery? Keep up the great job.
-
Great loss so far... keep it up. I was sleeved on the 22nd. I had a 2 week preop diet but didnt follow it really, might have even gained a pound or two. I am 1 pound short of my 2 month goal of 50lbs. Have a couple days to hit that goal. My next goal is 220 by first week of June.

I can literally make 2 scrambled eggs and 2 pieces of turkey bacon in less then 5 mins.
