    Calories?

I was also sleeved on the 21st. I have never been over 800cal in 1 day but come very close everyday. I am sticking to 6-800cal, 80+ Protein and less than 30g carbs a day. I don't monitor anything else but those 3. I walk about 45min a day and as of today am down 30lbs since surgery. I plan to start lifting weights in another 2 weeks and will probably up my calories to around 1000-1200 but can easily see myself burning 600cal a day at the gym If you want to keep your calorie intake at 900 I would walk 20mins every day... make sure your getting your protein, plenty of Water and keep those carbs under 40g IMO.

How much was your out of pocket?!?

My insurance covers the surgery but there is an almost 4 year wait... I decided not to wait and pay out of pocket.
  3. I am almost 2 weeks out from surgery and have no issues drinking liquids. I can drink hot or cold and can take 5-6 big gulps at a time, wait a minute or two and take another 5-6 gulps. I can down my morning Protein shake in a matter of minutes and easily get my Water intake daily. Actually just about any food I have tried post-op has gone down and stayed down without any issue. Will this stay like this or will I feel more restriction down the road when it comes to liquids. I really like the way I can drink with no issues... hope restriction on liquids wont develop. thanks
  4. wow great progress, looking good. How often are you working out and how many calories, protein and carbs are you taking in daily.

    MY ONE MONTH PEEPS

congrats everyone... What types of exercises are you guys able to do 1 month out?
  6. upcal D is a flavorless powder that delivers 500mg per packet. I add it to my protein shakes or water and can't taste it. Make sure you are taking a calcium citrate, those costco chews are not.

Sleeved January 5 th. 2 week stall

I am two weeks out and thinking I am about to stall out too. Looking forward to some responses.
  8. This lack of restriction only applies to Water or water with crystal light mixed in. I feel plenty of restriction when it comes to anything else. I am not chugging down my liquids... its more of a decent gulp, wait a second and take another... I can do this 5-6 times before I feel a little restriction so I stop. If I wait a couple minutes I can do it all over again. I just hope that is stays like this because I like the ability to be able to drink a decent amount of water without any issues.
  9. I always thought it was bad to go against the grain when shaving.
  10. Here is a video of a VSG patient eating what looks like a 6" subs. Check out his other videos. He has another video of how he feels 5 mins after finishing this sub... Its doable for some people but you are not going to feel very comfortable after eating a 6" sub. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ayuYToWlD10&list=UU5Y08ElVyhwCA6FB6z_cD-g&index=12

    Incisions

I am ten days postop and have not experience any of your symptoms. I would do a search on "glue" and see what others are sayings. I do remember reading a couple different post regarding allergies to the glue used to close the incisions as well as glue on the bandages. That is probably what is it but I would research more and speak to your doctors.

    PROTEIN!

I am a noob at this stuff but have done my research. Get back to basics and drop your carbs to under 20g per day. For me I love seafood and meat so staying on my current diet of 6-800cal, 80+protein and less than 20g carbs per day is easy. Think deli meats, pork center loins, lean beef, fish fillets and other sea foods. You would be surprised how fast your Protein adds up if you only eat these types of food.

    PROTEIN!

How far along are you? I eat a lot of deli meats to help me meet my daily Protein goals... I drink 1 premiere Protein shake a day. Once I am a few weeks out I dont think I will be drinking these shakes anymore. I figure once I can incorporate chicken breast and fish fillets to my diet I should have no issues meeting my daily protein goals. good luck

    5 Confessions (Join In)

    1. I never followed my 2 week pre-op diet and might have actual gained weight. 2. I quit smoking 2 weeks before surgery but cheated at least two dozen times in 14days. Twice, 2 days before surgery. 3. I ate a 10oz steak sandwich, medium rare, and a taco Soup the night before my surgery @ the Marriot in Mexico. 4. I followed my post-op diet up until day 7. I am now eating deli meats, cheeses, eggs and tuna 8 days post op. 5. With the above said, I do feel a little guilty because my surgery went better than expected... Minimal pain, incision healing very well and no need for pain meds 3 days post-op. I have no issues getting in all my Water and Protein 4 days post-op and feel I am going to be one of those guys who can eat anything I want without upsetting my sleeve. Icing on the cake is I have lost 25lbs since surgery... I am 9 days post op. I had my last smoke 2 days before surgery and have no cravings to ever start again.

    Solid Foods

1 week post-op I tried ham and turkey in the form of deli meats as well as string cheese and it went down fine.

    One Week Post Op!

Hey lauren, I am actually doing really good. I am surprised at how much I can drink. I have no issues getting my water or protein in everyday. I am not following the post-op diet either which is kinda bad I guess but I feel great with what I am eating and have no issues keeping it down,. As soon as I got home I started with blended Soups with homemade broths to thin them out. I have already tried scrambled eggs, deli meats, cheese and my sleeve handles it no problems. I am going to wait another week and start to incorporate fish and deli meats into my daily diet. I am drinking 1 costco Protein shake a day but once I can eat some 2-4ounce fish fillets, deli meats and cheeses daily I don't think I will need to drink Protein Shakes anymore. The weight is coming off but keep in mind I hardly followed the pre-op diet, in fact did not lose a pound prior to surgery, maybe even gained. You would be shocked to know what I ate the night before surgery lol. I think this is why I got a little jump start post-op. I'm excited for the Super Bowl... You guys have a party?

  22. love the chocolate flavor but looking forward to the vanilla on my next shopping trip to costco. I do think down the road with more meats, fish and cheeses added to my diet that I wont need to be drinking these anymore. I would rather eat a 4oz piece of steak or salmon than another Protein shake hehe.
  23. Wow great job and lost very quickly. I am newly sleeved and would love some meal ideas that are within your carb range... under 40per day. I added you to myfitnesspal. Would love to see what your eating. You look great,,,,
