  1. I wish I got approved that fast, lol! I went for my consult on the 14th and they told me the nurse would call me back within 24-48 hrs to set up my appt and get the paperwork in to my insurance company. I called the 15th and the nurse told me that she needed my blood work from the base clinic and she would then she would send it into tricare. Right now I'm just waiting for her to get the blood work she needs and then get it into tricare. I hate this waiting game, once I decided to do the lapband I just wanted to do it that day, lol.

Well it’s so nice to meet you and I hope all goes well for your surgery and weight loss.

    TTYL. :)

  2. **Update** Surgeon Consult... I went to my first consult with the surgeon today and I think everything is going to work out. He told me that I am a perfect candidate and he doesn't see a problem with me getting the surgery. Right now I'm just waiting for the nurse to call me back to schedule my surgery and for Tricare to approve me!! Wish me Luck!!! :frown::thumbdown:
  3. I was so worried about fitting in the range for tricare, thank you for clariflying that because I thought you had to fit the highest ideal weight they have on the metlife chart (I thought I had to be at 282) I'm glad it's the range between 254 and 282, because me being at 275 fits me in the high middle  Now I feel so much better and have a more positive out look on getting approved. I am hoping I get approved on the 200% over if I can't get the testing for the sleep apena before my initial consult on the 14th. I never have had a sleep study done but I will definantly look into that now so that it can be done before I go to in inital consult with the surgeon on the 14th of July. How do you go for a sleep study, do you have to see you PCP to get a referrel for the sleep sutdy? Is there a long wait? Good luck to you as well, I see your sugery date is the day before my consult!!! I'm excited for you, I hope I can be in your spot too soon! Thanks again for all your help and everyone else. :smile2:
  4. I have Triwest with tricare prime. I am just hoping after my first initial visit I get approved for the surgery!
  5. Right now I only have secondary amenorrhea, possible pcos, and pre-diabetic(but I haven't been diagonos with it yet) but diabeties runs in my family. Right now I'm counting on my weight getting me to the 200% or over range. I'm hoping it does. My BMI is 44. Thanks for all your help.
  6. I have some questions... How do you calculate the 200% or more over ideal weight? (sorry might be stupid question but I really don't understand it) I am 275 lbs. 5'5. with a BMI of 44. Medium frame. According to the Met life chart I'm supposed to be 127-141 lbs for my height weight. Am I 200% or more over my ideal weight? The reason why I'm asking this is because I'm not sure if I qualify for the 100lbs over with co-morbities so I'm counting on being in the 200% or over range. I know I am over 100lbs but I don't have strong co-morbid because first of all I haven't been tested for all of them and second the ones I have been tested for are not strong enough. I have pre-diabetes, lower back pain, and secondary amenorrhea but I don't think tricare will accept those. Thanks!!
  7. Thanks so much lilpeach, that really helped me a lot! I have another question for you (or for anyone who knows the answer), How is the 200% body fat calculated? I'm 5'5 and 275lbs am I considered 200% over my body weight. According to the charts I'm suppose to be 127-141lbs for my hieght (medium frame). I dont quite understand how to calculate it. Thanks.
  8. **Questions** I called Triwest because I didn't know what "approved with modifications" meant and they told me that my first doctor appt for my consultation is approved and the reason they had “Modifications” on there is because I didn't chose my doctor yet. I did choose my doctor and made my appt, yay! Has anyone been denied after the first (approved) consultation with the surgeon? If yes, how and why? I forgot to ask the lady I talked to on the phone from Triwest. Can I print out the approved status I got online and bring that to the doctor or do I have to wait for the letter in the mail? Another thing I saw on my online status that I don't quite understand and I forgot to ask is about the other thing on there. There are two things with approved with modifications... ~"office consultation: Approved w/Modifications " & ~"office/outpatient visit, new: Approved w/Modifications" So I know I'm approved for the consultation but what is "office/outpatient visit, new"?, it says I'm approved for it but I don't know what that’s for...I'm thinking it’s the next appt after the consultation but I don't know, just asking to see if anyone has had this on their status online or approval letters and if they might know the answer. It’s a holiday weekend because of the 4th so I won’t be able to call until Monday so that’s why I’m asking you guys Thanks for all the answers on my questions really appreciate it!!!

  10. Ok I'm just in tears right now because I think I'm approved, my doctor just put it in yesterday!!! Ok so I have a question: My TriWest status says "Approved w/Modifications"...what does "Modifications" mean? Does it mean I'm approved but I need to modify something?? OMG...if I'm approved I'm going to scream, I'm so happy so see the word "approved", just need to figure out "modifications".
