Had port revision done today at Raleigh-Duke In Raleigh, NC.. Little to no pain. Dr. Kerri Seymour is the best..
-
Don't get discouraged!! Hang in there????
-
After the port revision, could you feel any restrictions? The reason why I am asking is because I went in to have a fill due to me not feeling restrictions and that is when my surgeon realized my port had flipped.
-
Did you get a fill while having the port revision done?

This was a choice that we made, just like anything else in our lives!! I personally think it's one of the best health I have ever made.. Congrats to all who can see the desired results.????????

Glad to hear you are doing ok. I am having my port replaced Tuesday 10/27/15, excited and scared.

We all fall down at times but the most important thing is that we get back up and try again..????

Keep us posted on your recovery!! Good luck and best wishes.. ????????

Happy to know that I am not along. I was banded 7/31/2009. My original weight was 293 and I got down to 205 in 2013. I didn't see my doctor for 2 years and decided to go for a fill in February of this year. I immediately began to lose weight and by July I was down to 152 until I fainted a work, hitting my head in the process, therefore i received 5 stitches. I was hospitalized for a week and unfilled.. I have been eating like a cow and now weigh 187.. When I went for a full last week, I was told my port had flipped and need revision.. This is frustrating!!! I can not afford to gain another pound......

i recently changed doctors because my insurance company will no longer pay for the original doctor who performed my procedure. On my first visit I was immediately impressed with how friendly, professional, and caring Dr. Kerri Seymour was. She schedule me a fill under Fluro which I had never had done in the 6 years of being banded. When I arrived at the Duke-Raleigh Radiology my wait was short and I was escorted to the back. Once she began to access my port , frustration set in. After 30 minutes, of poking and looking at x-rays, she concluded that my port had flipped and need revising. Just my luck!!!!

Everyone seems to be doing well. Keep up the good work and don't try to rush things. Remember this is a slow process that takes time.

My bandiversary is tomorrow. I am far from where I wanted to be, but like someone else stated, I am 68 lbs lighter and proud. No, regrets.. I know what my problem is, I don't intake enough Protein. That can be fixed easily. As I approach my one year milestone, I vow to continously change and reach my goal...

That is amazing. I hope everything goes well. Good Luck and Best Wishes.

I was banded on 7/31 and I had a bad pain in my shoulder for about 3 weeks. All I did was put hot compresses and took liquid motrin to relieve the pain.

I had my second fill on Saturday - and think I am close, if not at my sweet spot. I have a very bad habit of bolting my food - which has been absolutely curtailed by this fill. I am forced to eat slowly or I get a lot of pain in my upper chest - and I actually had an incident of thowing up at a resturant (thank goodness I made it to the ladies room in time ) because I wasn't chewing properly. I stay full for 3-4 hours after eatting which for me is really good.I was banded in mid-August and for the first time feel the band working. It takes time...but eventually you will start to feel restriction.
How much weight have you actually lost..

anyone ever rescheduled for surgery because of not losing enough weight on pre-op diet?Hey I am NC also, where is sea level at? I had to see the nutri. twice, because when I went to see her the first time she put in her notes that she did not think I would change my eating habits, therefore, I had to see her a second time which I was billed for to tell her that I am going follow the advice that she recommend. After the second appointment, I went to the GNC store and got a Protein shake (Lean Body) and began taking that and watching what I ate. I actually lost about 10 lbs. pre-op. Don't give up...

I was banded on July 31st and I have lost about 40 lbs. I feel that I am not losing weight like I want to. I exercise at least 4 times a week for 45 minutes. I know I am not eating enough Protein or taking in enough Water. Everyone is telling me that 40 pounds in 3 months is great, I just feel like it should be more. I have started going to aerobics to see it this helps. Any suggestion's or to ear log/things that I can do help me drop at an average of 2lbs a week.

So yes, I gave up on my pre op liquid diet. It's NOT REQUIRED. I was planning on doing it for 2 weeks, my surgery is on November 13th.I'm just going to do a 24 liquid diet prior to the surgery that IS REQUIRED.
Today was the 1st day doing it, and I'm about to start day 2 - and I'm going nuts. I broke down and went down to the cafeteria (I'm at work) . I needed to eat something..
I was about to kill someone if I didn't.
Ugh.
Hey, I am from NC also. My doctor required a pre-op diet, but not a liquid one. Good luck and best wishes...

Hello everyone! I am newly banded in NC. I had my lap band surgery on Friday, October 23rd with Dr. Enochs from Cary, NC.So far so good.....I am SO NOT feeling the clear liquid diet. I am SO ready for something heavier to eat. Some nausea, lots of gas....the expected I guess.
Looking around the site to find lots of useful resources!
:scared2:
Hang in there and remember the reason why we had the surgery!!

I didn't know that it really matter. My surgeon put all of his patient's port on the left side.
Comprehending gastric bypass...

Amen!! Thank you for the reminder that this a choice, an opportunity to change my life for the better. I am one week post-op, about 10'pounds down and beginning to feel hungry. I will not yield to temptation. I will increase my Protein intake and figh for what is rightfully mines (My health).
