    Any suggestions on Vitamins?

I have. I do 1/2 a serving every morning in some almond milk and then take a 1/2 a serving of chewable or liquid Vitamin with Iron (the ultra mega has no iron) in the evening for my daily vitamin. I take Upcal D (2 times a day) which is a powdered Calcium that can be mixed in drink, Water, Soup, creamy/mushy foods foods, etc. for my daily calcium and a sublingual B12 once a week.

    Vitamins...?

Right after surgery I was taking the Solotron chewables from GNC, but I got tired of them so the next time I went in I found Women's Ultra Mega Nutrition Formula which is a powder it comes in chocolate and vanilla and I believe it has a few grams of protien in it. In the morning I do 1 scoop (serving is 2 scoops) and a scoop of protien powder in 12 oz of almond milk and drink that on my way to work. The only thing is that it doesn't have Iron, but I bought Prenatal Plus DHA Complet by Buried Treasure off of Amazon and I take 1 TBSP (serving is 2 TBSP) of that in the evening when I get home from work it has the iron I need and will hopefully help my hair stay healthy thru this. My doctor and nutritionist both are very happy with this. For my calcium I use a powder form that the doctors office gave me a sample of and I bought some from Amazon called Upcal D. I usually just either mix it in my Water or some crystal light 2 times a day. I bought the single serving packs for convenience to travel with. I just make sure I space my calcium and multi at least 2 hours apart per my doctors orders.

7 ccs and I need some advice

I have the 11cc Realize band, but I'm not at 7cc's yet. I went for my 3rd fill today which brought me to 6.5cc's. I asked my physician Assitant that does the fills when do most patients get to the green zone or sweet spot with the Realize Band and she said in her experience it's usually between 7 and 9 cc's, but some people feel it before. She said she has not had a patient yet get filled to capacity with the band and not feel restriction. I am on liquids for the next 3 days so I don't yet know what my restriction is yet. When I get a fill she also draws all the liquid out to make sure I don't have a leak and that the amount on my chart is still the amount in my band then she puts it back in and then adds whatever amount they are giving me that day. Is your doctor not checking your levels to make sure it's all in there and they didn't miss the port? I hope things work out for you.
  10. I went to GNC yesterday to get some more muscle milk light powder and they are having a sale on almost all of the different protien powder brands.....buy one get one half price and the sale goes thru 2/25....just wanted to let everyone know.

  13. I have been doing the Jillian Michaels 30 day shred for a couple of days now and find difficulty in doing the jumping jacks because of it being uncomfortable with my stomach bouncing up and down. Usually I do a few then hold my abdomen with my hands and keep doing the foot work of a jumping jack and I feel like I'm not getting the full benefit of the workout. I went to the doctor yesterday for my check up and fill and asked about suggestions of what I could buy to help me out. They suggested wearing a full body briefer when I work out to help out, so last night I went to the mall with my husband to look for a tool box at Sears and decided to check out the lingerie department and see if they had anything that would work for me. I found one called Diet Trim Bodybriefer it goes by bra size, tried it on when I got home and did a few jumping jacks and it seemed to help out greatly. I will wear it today while doing the "Shred" and see if it does well with the true test. Just wanted to put that out there for any other ladies in the same predicament as me  Oh and it was only $17.99, which to me is a steal compared to others I have seen so I bought 2.

    Abdominal Support for exercising (ladies)

It definately helps to have someone to talk to that is in the same boat as you, I will keep in touch as much as possible and definately look forward to doing the walk with you. Does your nutritionist have you on any certain eating plans? Mine likes to see us do a diet with no breads, Pasta, rice, etc. for the first year, just to fill up on good protien, veggies and fruits for the most part. Thanks for the heads up, I am going to go on Sears.com and order maybe 2 more in a smaller size for when these are too big, definately worth it if they are buy one get one half off. I absolutely love the way they hold me tight while exercising.

    Abdominal Support for exercising (ladies)

Hey Mississippigirl!!! The diet trim thing I bought goes by bra size and I thought yeah right it's not going to fit me, but it did and it supports great doing jumping jacks I put on my 2 sports bras and then put that on over it cause the bra part really doesn't do anything for the "ladies"....lol. That would be great to keep in touch and hopefully end up meeting up for a run/walk.. I am really wanting to build up my stamina for the Breast Cancer walk in October this year. Keep in touch and let me know how you are doing
  16. LOL I think I can safely say no one will think you are crazy. It baffles me the things that change as we lose weight, like shoe size, who would have thought your shoe size can change drastically. I've seen where people went down 2 sizes in shoes!!! My shoes are actually starting to get loose now so I have quit giving into my shoe shopping obsession because why waste the money if they won't fit in a couple of months.

    I just don't get it.......

I think it's pretty normal. My doctor told me not to worry to much about weight loss during the healing process after surgery which I know is not something anyone wants to hear, but I guess it makes sense cause you have alot going on internally after surgery even though it's minimally invasive compared to bypass. I guess the healing swelling does effect your weight loss, but then you start loosing again. I lost 7lbs at my 2 week post op appt. and then at my 6 week appt I had lost another 13lbs. Hope this makes you feel a little better about it. Congrats on your loss so far you are doing great for being 2 weeks out from surgery.
  18. At 5'9" i am not short at all, but as I am losing I feel like I get shorter....lol...I think it's because as my butt goes the bottoms of my jeans drag the ground and get longer on me because there is not as much butt for them to go around

    Recovery Time????

morichesdonna I had my surgery on a Thursday and returned to work on a Monday. I spent the night in the hospital cause thats how my doctor does it. The first time I got up to pee they had me walking the halls I think that helped me out ALOT. The more moving around you do the better you will feel and the easier your recovery will be. Everytime I would get up to go to the bathroom which was like every hour (because I had an IV) I would go walk up and down the halls before going sit or lay back down. As long as you don't do any heavy lifting at work you will probably be fine.

Tips for not drinking after eating?

I have broken the habit, but before my surgery my nutritionist told me (to get myself into the habit) to fix a glass of ice and whatever melts in the time it takes me to eat I can drink...lol...which is pretty much nothing and you will eventually get into the routine. Maybe you need to try that fix a glass of ice and during that 30 to 60 minute wait whenever you want to drink something only drink what has melted...Hope it helps!!

    Need some info

    1) how much time do you have to take off of work with this WLS? I had my surgery on a Thursday and returned to work on a Monday. I have a desk job with no heavy lifting. 2) What is the average cost? My insurance covered it, but if I would have had to self pay it would have been $15,000 which includes an overnight stay in the hospital 3) Does anyone know of any dr. in the Pensacola, Fl area they would recommend? Sorry can't help you on this, I'm in New Orleans, Louisiana 4) How quickly are you able to return to exercise, bending or lifting after WLS? My doctor wanted me to walk the halls when I got out of bed and it wasn't bad I think it actually helps to start moving around right away. Nothing over 10lbs for 4 weeks then he upped it after 4 weeks to 15 to 20lbs. After 6 weeks he said I could go back to normal activity, just to listen to my body if it hurt to much stop.
  23. Hey Neesh! I'm in the same boat as you. I was banded on 11/5 and have had 1 fill so far (4cc in an 11cc band). I'm still having to fight the urge to eat things I crave but know that I shouldn't have. My Physician Assistant told me last time that sometimes it can take between 3 and 5 fills to get to the "sweet spot" or "green zone" and I go once a month so I'm just hanging on to hope that it will get there soon because I don't know how much more self control I can have. The main holidays are over, but here we still have Mardi Gras and King Cakes to contend with....ughhh! Hopefully someone will come along with some encouraging words for us both. :rolleyes2: Good luck!!
