    Slurpee?

Get a small sugar free one. I don't believe is deprivation!
  2. Mixed up the workout today. Did the arc trainer for the first time and is really working my arms. I actually have definition now.

  3. You didn't reach your goal because you didn't TRY!!! Start journaling, measuring and making good choices and those 6 measly pounds will be off before you know it. Congrats on your amazing weight loss. Celebrate your accomplishments

Fear and Anxiety Getting to Me

Your feelings are NORMAL! I was such a wreck the day of surgery, they had to drug me up in the prep room. My husband always says that he wished he had a crystal ball of me now (so happy) that day. Helpful hints: 1. Visualize yourself doing things your weight prevented you from (if needed, make a list) 2. If you have an ipod or iphone, download a relaxation app or soothing music. 3. Make an affirmation. For example, "I am having surgery and will have an excellent recovery and be successful" Hope these helps, I went to a therapist who specializes in people with food issues and she taught me these tips. You will proabably have feelings of regret after surgery....this is NORMAL and keep saying this is all temporary. I am 7 months out and life gets better EVERY DAY :D Good Luck NIna

    day AFTER sugery

You are doing amazing! I am so impressed that you were able to log on and type sentences!! On day 2, I was so out of it, I didn't know my mom visited! Keep up the great work and remember...all this inconveniece is temporary and life gets better every day. READINGTEACHER: Don't do the band!!! Check out my posts and you will know my horrific story. 99% of people have complications and over 30% will have the band out within 5 years, leaving you right at square one!
  7. OK....6 pounds to go. 7 month follow up with my doctor tomorrow. Can't wait to see him, last time was in May!!

  8. I vomited once after surgery (after I had the leak test, that stuff tastes gross). The meds controlled naseau in hosptial and I had NONE once I was home. Worst thing for me was the DRAIN... I had it for 10 days, and I didn't feel (mentally), I was getting better until it was out. It was difficult to sleep with that thing in. I would go thru it all over again and again. Thrilled with my decision!!!!
  9. It is TOTALLY normal to have feelings of regret right after surgery. I sure did. Keep thinking that this inconvenience is temporary. No you will not be sipping for the rest of your life and you won't be in pain. You can and will enjoy food but much less. It took a while for me to master eating out. Don't bother until you are good and ready. Everytime you get nervous, Visualize all the things you will be able to do without the weight. If you have an ipod, download some relaxation apps or listen to soft music. It really helps. I was NOT prepared for "buyer's remorse" but I can tell you that after 7 months and 7 pounds to goal, I don't regret this for one second!!!!!!!!! LIFE IS GREAT
  10. I also had to pay out of pocket for the psych eval. My surgeon had one that they used. I think she charged $120. Call your surgeon and ask if there is a perferred therapist that they used. It will make it a lot easier bc they will know what to put in the letter. Good Luck
  11. I like Designer's Whey Chocolate. Just to give you perspective. I am 7 months out and have lost 88 pounds. 7 pound from goal. You have A LOT to look forward to!!
  12. Horray..I finally figured out how to add a picture! LOL. Here is me in my SIZE 10 dress....wearing a BELT!!!!

  13. I lost hair but it was not noticable. What was noticable was the texture change. My hair was dry and brittle. It was between 3-6 months. I did wind up getting my hair cut above my shoulders to improve texture BUT with my new, thinner face, I can get away with it My other two friends had VSG and lost NO HAIR AT ALL, If that makes you feel better.
  14. Be sure you call your doctor and get your fluids in. Boy, your dog is sure an awesome dog!
  15. you MUST MUST get more liquid in. keep sipping from a medicine cup. I could not tolerate Water for almost 3 weeks. I drank unjury chicken soup, diet decaf tea, diet lemonade and sugar free popscicles were my best friend. Surgery is rough but dehydration is MUCH worse. It will get better and you will be able to tolerate more liquids as the days go on. Good Luck and DRINK

    DEFECTIVE SLEEVE?????

You are healing well but don't take the ease of eating and drinking to over indulging. Be sure to measure your food and eat slowly. Pay attention to how long you stay full for. If its a while...your sleeve is working fine Remember...just because you CAN eat more, doesn't mean you SHOULD. You're doing great!
  17. I was sent home with pain pills and took my regular pills (capsules). Three months is MORE than enough time. Talk to your doctor. Congrats on an awesome weight loss!
  18. (((HUGS)))) Gas pain is horrific! If you don't have a heating pad, put some rice in a sock and microwave it. It holds the heat well. Keep moving around, I know it hurts but its the only way. Good Luck
  19. No vomit, no nausea. The 2 worst things to me were: 1--the barium swallow study after surgery, drinking clear brown, evil, disgusting liquid 2--the drain. My doc required it to be kept in for 10 days. The BEST: feeling great, looking great, getting healthy, walking into a store and buying clothes so quickly and easily, tons of compliments from friends, family, and co-workers. Being a cheap date...3 meals out of one meal out. The TEMPORARY pain and inconvenience were so worth it! I could go on forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  20. That is hardly a fail! Just a learning experience!!!! With the very few calories you are consuming, a little mousse won't make a difference. Now you know your triggers and you can avoid putting yourself in that situation in the future. I can NOT have oreos in the house. I have downed 3 or 4 (yes after surgery). My kids don't miss them and I sure don't either!!! Tomorrow is a fresh new day! Celebrate yourself and all you have accomplished
  21. Have them check your gall bladder. I have read many posts about pain in that area being the gall bladder. Symptoms of a leak are: Fever, rapid heartbeat, sever stomach pain, vomitinmg According to my surgeon, after 14 days you have a less than 1% chance of a leak. I had a VERY BAD experience NOT going to the hospital where my bariatric surgeon is based. I know you are in pain, but you have to make the trip. It's amazing how LITTLE regular ER doctors know about bariatrics!!! Good Luck and it will get better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  22. People do carry weight differently. I saw posts of someone who is 20lbs more than me wearing a size 6 and I wear a size 10!!!! Everyone's body is different. I COULDN'T STAND when people said I didn't look "big enough" to have surgery. Even a NURSE in the bariatric hospital said it to me. Keep your eyes on the prize and remember this is about getting healthy. Looking HOT is a great side effect! GOOD LUCK!
  23. What a difference...but I must say you have a beautiful face regardless

    The Easy Way Out

HOW self-centered...going on about herself like that. You showed lots of class and handled yourself well. I would have not have handled it as well as you. BTW---I have lost 86 pounds in less than 7 months... so to hell with her!!!

    SIZE 34 BOUGIE

My doctor uses a size 40. I eat about 3/4 cup of food and have lost 86 pounds in less than 7 months. I don't have reflux and don't need to take anything.
