  1. I have been banded for 2 years. The experience I have had has not been good. Most of the people I have meet has seemed to just disappear. Currently working to get my last 23 pounds off and it is hard. I live in the same area and a member of planet fitness in Knightdale. Will check back in to see if anyone else replies.

  2. I was thinking the same thing, I have lost a total of 65 pounds since Aug 09. The back trouble I have had has made this the hardiest thing I have ever had to do. I am currently 19 pounds from goal of 160. I am happy but it would have been so much easier if I had the support I thought I had. Send me a message. I am so proud of all of you.

HELLO! I WAS WONDERING THE SAME. I STOPPED POSTING BECSAUSE IT SEEMED THAT I WAS THE OLNY ONE HERE TALKING TO MYSELF :) IM HAPPY FOR ALL OF U. IT'S BEEN 1 1/2 YRS FOR ME NOW. I REALLY COULD HAVE USED ALL OF UR ENCOURAGEMENT ABOUT 6 MOS AGO. IM DOWN 47 LBS BUT HAVE JUST STARTED TO GET BACK ON TRACK. i NEED THE SUPPORT FROM U GUYS, AND I GUESS A LITTLE MOTIVATION. I WILL CHECK IN DAILY FROM THIS POINT ON. LETS KEEP IN TOUCH MORE OFTEN, ITS A GOOD THING. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK EVERYONE!!

  3. I have gone to a pain management clinic and boy do I feel better. The last week I have been able to exercise(walking) and it is making a difference. I am feelig so much better now but the pain is not completely gone. This has been the hardiest thing to do. As of this morning I am in onederland, can't remember the last tieme I was here. It has been a very so process but I will keep doing what I can. Life sometimes throws us curve balls but we must keep plugging away and moving forward. I will not give up on my band, come to far and refuse to look back. Thanx for the encouragement

  4. I am not sure why this happens but it is happening. The people that was banded with me last year don't even post anymore. I am responsible for my actions and the problems I have. I aquired my band to help me and refuse to compare myself with someone else. Some people lose weight faster than others for me I have not been able to exercise so any pound is a victory for me. The problem started a few months after my surgery(back problems). Sometimes it is good to vent but unless there is a health problem no one really wants to hear it. This is just an observation from this forum. I have lost 32 pounds and happy with it. In time I will finish getting the rest off but until then I don't post, I read them. Are there really people out there that are willing to listen? We get wrapped up in our own lives. Have anyone ever heard pay it forward. This what I plan on doing once I have all the bugs worked out for myself. At this point I can jst listen because I have not figured it out myself.

  5. Don't be so down on yourself. I was banded the same month as you. My weightloss hass been slow but I am happy with the results. Since banded I have had some serious back problems. My exercise has been very hard to even try and do any. Finally after about 4 months of chiropractor visits I went to a pain specialist. Any victory is better than none and I have accepted that. My weight has come down 32 pounds and I feel better. We all lose at a different pace and we can not compare our weightloss with someone else. All I know is the weight will not come back. According to my doctor, I am doing well. There have been months with no weightloss but there was no gain. I average 4 to 5 pounds a month. It may not seem like much to you or someone else, but is a victory for me. At the present time I am half way there with only 44 more pounds to lose. Keep your chin up and it will all work itself out. If you would like to keep in contact for support send me a private message. I have found a couple of people but no one really keeps up with me.

  6. I am 9 months out and very disappointed. Since banded I have been having problems with siatica. I will go a couple weeks without pain and it comes back. My weightloss is very slow and have lost only 30 pounds in this time. Is there hope for me? Please any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I am just worried I have failed my band. The pain is so bad sometimes I can hardly walk.

  7. When I read this post I started not to replybut guess what I am a slow loser and not ashamed to say it. Even though I had a set back I was still not losing the weight. My appointment was yesterday and I have lost 1 pound all month. I can understand that since I have not been exercising due to sciatica. I am not eating as much but wish this weight would go away. I have my days where I feel the same way but guess what? We made a good choice to start on this journey. Stay encouraged, I will be 7 months out on the 13th and have lost on 25 pounds. This month will be different, going to curves this morning.

  8. I was banded in Aug myself and have lost 27 pounds. It is a daily struggle knowing that I am losing 2 pounds a month for the last 2 months. When I went to the doc last month did not get a fill. I am worried now because the weight seems to not be moving. My next appointment is tomorrow and I plan on asking for a fill. I think this would jump start my weight loss. I am getting my Protein in but the weight is not coming off. What do you do in this instance

  9. I am dealing with the same thing. While I must admit this month I haven't been able to exercise because of my back. It is very frustrating to know that I am doing all I can. I don't drink with meals but still will not release the weight. My visits to the chiropractor will be going on for the next 9 weeks. I have found out how important the Protein is for me everyday. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Also I can eat what ever I want. My band is 14cc band, I think that I have 6 or 7 cc in my band. I am worried I will never get restriction. What can I do?

  10. You have done an amazing job. I was banded in Aug and still haven't lost 30 pounds. What are you doing, for the last month I haven't lost anything. I was unable to exercise because of back problems. Hopefully this month I will do better. I only have 40 something pounds to get off. Please send me what you are doing I need to try something else. I go back to doc tomorrow and afraid of what he may say.

  11. Hello there, you all seem to be doing so well. I am at 4cc in 10cc band. It has been a big change for me, some weeks I get to exercise everyday and then others 3 times. The time learning is a good experience for me because I did not gain all this weight overnight. Do you any of you have suggestions. I think I may be getting in to many carbs but I am going to work on this all week. I am so proud of you all, keep up the good work.:scared2:

  12. I have been reading so many post on here about the quick weightloss. What did you do to get this much weight off. As of the 13th I have been banded for 2 months. In this time I have only lost 17 pounds. The doctor told me it would be 1 to 2 pounds a month but it seems so many people are losing faster. What can I do, I am walking 3x a week but feel I need to up that. Also I have 4cc in my band, just need some advice.

  13. I was banded on August 13th and have also lost 20. This week I go back to the doc and maybe will get my second fill. It has been a roller coaster for me since I gained 5 pounds in the mushie stage. Try to hold for a couple more days to see if it will change. It has been said that it may take sometimes a week to know what will work. You are doing great, it doesn't matter who knows that you had the surgery. In my case I haven't told anyone at work but they are noticing the weightloss. I did this for myself and that is all that matters for you also. We can't worry what someone else will think.

  14. Hello August Bandits,

I had my first fill on September 15 and it has been a long process. When I went back tot he doctor I had gained 5 pounds this devasated me. The weightloss has been slow and it seems that everyone has lost more than I have. While I can't complain about the 16 pounds I have lost. I just wish it was coming off faster. In looking at my stats I still have about 60 more pounds to drop. When looking at the boards it gives me hope for the future wieghtloss. I must pick up my exercise regimen to catch you guys. At the beining of my journey I weighed 234 and now currently at 218. Can't wait to be in onederland.:)

  15. I had my surgery on Aug 13 by the time I went back to the doctor I was down 17 pounds. On my next visit I had lost none. The nurse said I gained 5 pounds but I know what I saw on the scale when she weighed me. I was at 224 the first visit and the next visit I saw 225. This has devastated me. I try to walk at least three times a week but I don't know what to do now. I am not hungry and I only eat about 2 ounces per meal. My band has 3 1/2 cc in a 10 cc band. Any recommendations would be appreciated. I do not drink a Protein Drink every day but have started to in the last couple of days to use as a Meal Replacement. I am so frustrated looking at all the post and the amount of weight being reported. What do I do to get back on the path of losing weight. This started when I got into the mushie stage.

  16. I was banded on Aug 13 and doing really well. The port pain is bothersome but is getting better. I have lost a total of 17 pounds and seems as if I am holding. I go to the doctor for my second post appointment on September 15. Not sure if I am doing the right thing but I break my meals up to four times a day. Each meal consist of only 2 or less ounces of mushie. I am so sick of mashed potatoes and soft stuff. During the week I try to walk at least a mile each day but I think I am going to try and up it this week. My face has really slimed down and I can tell the difference in my clothes. I was hoping to lose more but I am happy for the pounds I have lost. The port pain has kept me from walking as much. It is also hard to get all of the fluids in a days time, since back at work because I am constantly moving around. I guess I will have to wait and see what the doctor says when I go back. I am definately happy with the current weight lose.
