  1. This is "the wife"..THANK YOU for that! That was sweet and so kind if you to take the time to type all that! (i am a huge rambler! so no worries!) I am VERYY lucky to have him and couldnt do this w/o him!
  2. ok i see..rockville.. duh.. if you can give me your opinion on Dr. Brinkley, I greatly appreciate it!!! thanks!!
  3. Hey Bellasmom! First...where in Mexico? OCC?? Second...can you tell me how you like Dr. Brinkley? Does she have alot of experience? where in Md are you? I am in Elkridge (Howard County)
  4. * Hello! I will be getting banded 7/8/09...and have been calling EVERYWHERE to find a doctor that will see me after.... (sucks that most wont if you were banded outside the US!) Anywhoo.... My contact at OCC in Mexico and gave me a listing of a few that DO take patients that were banded in Mexico and Susan Brinkley, MD 301-668-2800 IS one of them. I called and there is NO initial fee (which most do) and a fill is $200 and an unfill is $150. Dr. Barry Green, 9707 Medical Center Drive #200, Rockville, MD 20850 www.advancedwls.com I called there yesterday...and there is a $210 one time fee, plus $150 for fills and unfills I havent called this one yet, but this is the info I got from OCC: Dr. David Von Rueden, Catonsville, MD - 410-368-3003 - $775 program fee, $250 fill, xray is available (A tad pricey for me since I am self-pay, but he does use xray..) Hope that helps!!! Good Luck!! Agnes
  5. Alex I could not agreemore but HH and Wasa are only speaking there mind cause they were sticking up for a new member (agnes) Top Tier took it upon her self to be rude and hurtful for no reason. In anycase I hope her banding went ok and she recovers fully Take Care, Erick
  6. Makes sense  No I am not backing out! I am gonna make it work!!
  7. Can i ask you guys how much you have lost during the liquid/mushy stage (until the first fill?)
  8. First of all CONGRATS!!! I get banded on July 8th, super-exciting knowing about all the gas and watery poop I will be having! LOL
  9. haha fat and rich! I can pay to get skinny! LOL
  10. Yeah, that makes sense! THANKS FOR REPLYING! I a perfect world I will be one of those people that only needs a fill a couple times in a year, LOL I wish! I am self pay, so that can get pricey if I need frequent fills. I just get scared, bc I read (on here, so not sure if its 100% fact) that you can tear your band if its too tight? and a tooo tight band cant be good, right?
  11. "Success=working with the band!" This is what everyone says! Making sure you follow the rules and the diet, eat healthy, make the right choices....etc. My question is..has anyone ever followed the diet, the rules, made the best choices..etc... AND STILL have not seen results? I plan on making this band work for me and working with the band! Busting my butt in the gym & continue to make healthy choices, cut out stachy carbs..etc. I want to have the BEST success possible! I guess I am afraid that I will be dont everything right and not seeing results.
  12. from checking out many threads... i see that people get filled Very frequently!! and others get filled a couple months apart? I also spoke with a woman (my contact at the OCC, where my surgery will be done) ..and she was only filled 3 times in 3 years and is at her goal of a 95 pound loss... She mentioned that the may depend on the type of band that their surgeon used? Any thoughts?
  13. Just wondering, From my understanding, I will be on NO Solids for 28 days... (Clear liquids week 1) Do many people see loss during this time? or do you expect to see more loss after the first fill? I am assuming, i will lost Water weight.. Just curious was people's experiences were the first month?
  14. bump... I havent been banded yet, so unfortunately I cant answer... but i pray that everything is ok! Can someone help her?!
  15. you lost 30 pounds!! you are doing great!!!
  16. Thanks for the heads up!! I am staying at the other hotel, so i will see if they have some yummy broth. yeah, I think the office told me that anything I have should be included (not like I am gonna be eating a buffet or anything! LOL) I keep the popsicles in mind! THANKS!!
  17. Aww, thats sad to hear. We all are going thtough the same thing.. so why cant we all support each other? but yeah, seeing how some people can be online, I can only imagine how some unsupportive people can be in person. Well keep in touch, we'll support each other!!!
  18. * HI!!! I havent got the lapband (yet..July 8th!!!) However... I used to be 190 and got down to 133 on my own. When I was heavier I would Wheeze all the time! I was very active, but could never run as far b/c of the asthma...my inhaler was ALWAYS on me! However, after losing weight, my asthma improved drastically!! I was taken off my singulair and only kept on the inhaler (for as needed purposes). So then I only every really used it at the gym sometimes.. As I regained the weight, the asthma once again worsened..but its not AS bad. If you are a smoker, that plays a major role as well. So, weight loss in general should help the asthma! (As least thats what I ahve experienced as well as my PCP, allergist and cardiologist tell me..) The Lapband will hopefully get you there! Good Luck!! :bored: Agnes
  19. Thanks hun! How has your success been thus far? Yeah, I knew at the rate I was gaining..i woulda been 200lb before I knew it! I had to get in under control NOW! I tried everything, busted my butt in the gym and the weight would not move..and for some reason, I kept gaining! Thank for your kind words! Wish you the best!!
  20. * I KNOW HOW YOU FEEL! IF something were to happen, I'd have to pay out of pocket to fix it?! My preop is Tues July 7th, surgery the 8th and I go back to work Monday July 13th.. That should be ok you think? No, they said i dont have to do the pre-op diet. yeah, I think even if I am not hungry, the "act" of actually chewing is what I am gonna miss! LOL Did they say when you are allowed to lay on your stomache?
  21. Good luck to you as well! you are doing fabulous so far!!!!!!!!!
  22. just wondering... have many of you gotten really cranky and moody (esp the first 28 days) b.c you are only on liquids? I can see that being frustrating, however I am prepared! I enjoyed a delicious cheed danish with my coffee yesterday, which i normally would never buy! LOL
