  2. We are already on low calories so the only thing we can do to keep the weightloss going is to increase our exercise. Way to go Amanda!
  3. I still experience a little soreness where the band was placed. Are you sore around where they cut you or just inside? I never experienced any nausea, just gas
  4. WOW! What an accomplishment! I think people are probably noticing but not sure how to approach it, weight/weightloss are touchy subjects sometimes. Congrats!
  5. Shaving my legs is soooo much easier! lol
  6. I don't blame you! My mushy stage included scrambled eggs and they were my lifesaver. I added egg whites to my regular eggs also. But I tried one different food each day. I was full quickly. I know your hungry, I put everything into my little magic bullet once i was on full liquids  Pay careful attention to your Protein and make sure your getting enough, it will help keep your energy up and also, eat small meals every 3-4 hours, even if its a Protein shake.
  7. Just keep yourself on track, I hope your fill helps! That muscle milk flavor sounds delish! Do you use the lite muscle milk or the regular? Do you add flavorings or did you find one in that flavor? thks!
  8. My family had pizza one night this week, I ate the toppings off two slices, I really wanted to try one bite of the crust, but I am really trying to stay away from carbs and I read on someone's blog of getting the foamies after eating pizza....skeered me :ohmy:
  9. Kimberly~I am trying to stick with low carb so I haven't tried any bread or pasta, you may have to cut it really small first? My appetite is back as well.... Bendy~even though my hunger is back, I still feel restriction, I am unable to eat as much as I used to, I get full much quicker. Gen~ you are one pound away from 20lbs, AWESOME!
  10. I have only been able to find the plain at stores in my area. (walmart) I didn't have know that they had flavored. I guess I can buy my own berries to mix into it? I like the idea of using in the place of sour cream, I like to use a little sour cream with fat free refried Beans. Any other ideas for greek yogurt? Please.
  11. B omelet (1egg,1T egg whites, few mushrooms sprinkling of cheese) S 1/2 banana/choc protein shake L 1/2 c. fatfree refried beans/2T lite sour cream/2T salsa S choc/peanutbutter protein shake D 4 fishsticks (not a good choice) s indiv container of cottage cheese The fishsticks were not the best choice but my kiddies love them on fridays, they expect it. I am going to try to find a lowfat version. I did limit myself to 4, before my banding, I would inhale a dozen or so before in a very short time
  12. Yep, I'm getting along on plain willpower which I always have a short supply of.
  13. The band is a tool and will not lose the weight for you. YOU have to make the committment to a healthy lifestyle for the rest of your life, not just a diet. When I was trying to decide which WLS was right for me, my doctor explained it to me this way....the band is for those who historically do well with diets and have had success with them, but then gain it back when hunger kicks it. He told me if I did not have a history of success with dieting on my own then I should consider the sleeve or bypass. Bottom line, lapband is the least evasive procedure but it is also the one that relies most heavily on YOU to do the most of the work.
  14. I had a little meltdown yesterday. But, picked myself up in end and now I'm back on track. My real hunger has not come back yet, it's the "brain" hunger that is frustrating me at the moment
  15. OMG, this soup is soooo good! My whole family loved it and I wanted to share it. Butternut Squash Soup Prep Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 47 mins Serves: 8 Packed with vitamin A and fiber, this creamy soup blends the flavors of squash, sweet potatoes, and apples. Molasses and cinnamon add sweet and spicy overtones. Ingredients 2 pounds butternut squash, peeled, seeded, and cut into 2" pieces 1 sweet potato, peeled and cut into 2" pieces 2 cans (13 3/4 ounces each) reduced-sodium chicken broth, defatted 2 tablespoons light molasses 1 teaspoon chopped fresh tarragon or sage 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg 1 large onion, chopped 1 tart apple, sliced 2 cloves garlic, sliced salt ground black pepper 1 cup 1% low-fat buttermilk 2 tablespoons chopped fresh italian parsley Directions In a large saucepan, combine the squash and sweet potatoes. Cover with cold water and bring to a boil. Cook for 25 to 35 minutes, or until very soft when tested with a sharp knife. Drain and return the vegetables to the saucepan. Stir in the broth, molasses, tarragon or sage, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Remove from the heat. Coat a medium no-stick skillet with no-stick spray and place over medium heat until hot. Add the onions, apples, and garlic. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 5 to 7 minutes, or until soft. Add to the squash mixture. Working in batches, puree the squash mixture in a blender or food processor. Season with the salt and pepper. Return the mixture to the saucepan. Cook over medium heat for 3 to 5 minutes, or until warm. Ladle into bowls. For each serving, swirl in 2 tablespoons of the buttermilk. Sprinkle with the parsley. 16. I'm doing low carb, I did South Beach Diet and lost quite a bit, of course I have done every diet out there, some 2x! lol But all in all, low carb was easiest for me and it is also what my doctor recommends. My doctor wants us to eat Protein, then the veggies and last is the carbs, I am usually full way before I get to the carbs now ! so thats good!
  17. Katlynn, The worst of it was the gas in the first week following the surgery. Although the gasX strips did ok, I found the extra strength chewables worked better for me, but I think maybe that is a personal preference Also, I need it will be painful, but walk, walk, walk! I increased the length of my walks a little each day and now I am doing 90 mins a day. It honestly is the best thing for the gas and a speedy recovery. CONGRATS AGAIN!
  18. There is nothing wrong with taking a break for a day. Just be sure to resume something the next day. You are doing so wonderfully, you don't want to lose that momentum! lol
  19. Jody, We are two days apart in our surgeries, you seem to be handling it much better than I. Dee
  20. I am 17 days post op and have lost pretty good so far but my darn scale is stuck this week, I cannot possibly eat less than I already do and I'm doing lots of cardio. ~Just keeping the faith that Mr Scale will start doing right by me soon:laugh:
  21. Eva, Good luck on reaching your goal. Keep posting, it will help you stay on track! Janet, Have a safe trip!
  22. I do not plan on trying to eat bread or crackers at all with my new band, I am trying to keep a low carb diet and I have read too many horror stories of people PBg with bread getting stuck.
  23. My doctor insists the only yogurt recommended by him is the Plain Greek, please tell me your ideas for making it tastier! It seems so bland to me! Thanks!
  24. Your being too hard on yourself, If you were able to loose weight without restriction from your band, you wouldn't have had WLS to begin with. Do the best you can until your fill! This is not a diet, its a lifestyle change that you have your whole life to work on!
