  1. heya Garry,

Just i read the experience that you have gone through and I dont wish it upon anyone. And am glad u are getting better.

I just wanted to know if going through the fill administrator and going to the clinics that they have set up around the country is a good idea???? I am scared as it being my first fill and all.

    Are the clinics reliable ?

    Regards,

    RoseX

  2. Hi,

I have been banded since 30th june 2009. I need to have a fill. I live in denmark, copenhagen and need a fill. Do you know where the best fill to be? what are the costs?

    Happy loosing!!!!

The other reason why restriction after a fill wears off is that as you lose weight you lose internal fat so the band is looser.

It does sometimes take a while to get restriction just right and it isn't an exact science, more trial and error.

I am now only a few pounds from my desired weight and I have had 4 fills and 2 small unfills.

some of us find our bands tighten with our monthly cycle so I get one pretty tight week every month.

    Sue

    (Banded November 08 weight 260lbs, August 09 weight 149lbs)

  3. Hi all 11 days post op and the hunger pangs have just kicked in today. I had 2 boiled eggs mashed in a cup for breakfast. Small amount of cous cous for lunch and was starving by dinner and had a large bowl of mashed potato, swede, carrot for tea. Is this the right amount Im consuming. I feel really full after the mashed veg but it was a large amount. Jx

Heya, I was banded 30th June, and feel the hunger pangs as well. I am still on liquids, so am sticking to Soups, yougurt and freshly squeezed juice. Is it normal to feel this hunger with the band even though not having restriction set in yet. I am scared to eat more or i will be stretching my stomach ..... eeeekkkkkk!!!!!!! Help need advice!!!!!:tongue_smilie::scared2::thumbdown::scared2::thumbdown::scared2::laugh::scared2::scared2::scared2::scared2:

  4. I had my surgery on 6/9/09

    I survived the liquid diet.

I have slowly introduced soft solids back in and I eat about 1/2C of Protein, 1/2C starch, 1/2C fruit/veggie.

My first fill is scheduled for 7/14/09 (5 wks post surgery)

    I FEEL ZERO RESTRICTION.

    Is this normal?

I can even eat and drink at the same time.:)

It's like nothing is there - like I never had the surgery.

I have lost 19 pounds. I was down 21 but last Tuesday's weigh in showed me up 2 pounds!! I am really worried that I am going to undo all I have done! YIKES :(

Have any of you experienced this?

    What helped?

    hi ,

thought u might have had some answers as I got banded 29th june and am in the same predicament. cant wait to get filled!!!!! ASAP!!!!

I am hungry but am being good by haveing yoghurts and Soups.

What do u to to fend off the hunger???

  5. Day 2 post-op & I'm absolutely starving hungry. I understand its liquids for 10 days but I've had to have a slice of bread with my Soup tonight because I'm famished. Does anyone have any ideas how I could overcome the hunger pangs, they're worse than the incision pains :)

    Heya Fatduck,

Welcome back!!! Wow finaly banded feels good . Must say i also feel hungry but am keeping up with Soups , Jello, Water, puddings. Hope the 10 days of liquids pass by. Been takeing my shots and cleaning my stitches must say was scared in the beginning but finally done it and it was pretty easy.. Fatduck stay off the bread as much as possible.

  6. Hey Rose, Good to here from you!! I hope to meet up with you on Monday night, not sure how we'll know each other though, we'll just have to look out for nervous looking individuals who look like they enjoy there food :w00t:.

How are you feeling now that the days are creeping away towards d-day or perhaps I should call it b- day!

It's still all a bit surreal for me to be honest, like it's not really happening to me but to a character in a book I'm reading- all a bit weird. I think that this dreamlike feeling is probably whats stopping me from feeling nervous. That will probably all change on Sunday night :scared2::smile2:.

    Hope to speak soon.

    Cheers,

    Vikki :smile2:

    Heya Fatduck,

It definatly feels very surreal the day before the travels towards a new life!!! A new beginning!!! Today am meeting up with the whole family for a get together at the beach for a barbeque. I will probably be at the hotel 9ish. have a great sunny day :frown:

  7. For everyone else, I met Garry today in Edinburgh for a quickie. Wo Ho slow down tiger!!!! It was only a quickie chat :) What a sound bloke he is. When I got there I forgot all the questions I had planned to ask him but he still filled me in ( behave !!) and gave me some much needed and fab tips for my trip next week. Thank you Garry for affording me some of your time and experience. It is very much appreciated. XXX

BTW Garry has the most striking, engulfing blue eyes that I have ever seen. They are beguiling!:tt1:

Heya Fatduck: Maybe I will see you on the day. if not goodluck. I am at Campanile hotel monday night with my mum. Ready for the big day the next day Tuesday :)

  9. Hi Rosetah2006

    Welcome to the forum.

    Here is everything i can think of to take with you;

    *loose clothing

    *slip-on shoes

    *hand towl for hospital

    *wash bag

    *chewable Multivitamins

*Waterproof dressings for 5 wounds (4= 2cm long and 5th is 6cm long)

    * Travel lightly as too much luggage will be a pain to carry around

    * Pain relief ie Nurofen melts (not tablet form. you will get some from hospital but they are yuk!)

    * Sponge ( I found this helpful for a strip wash in hospital)

*don't worry about nightclothes in hospital as you will be in your gown they give you

    * Cup a Soups for hotel after op

    * Bottled Water but you can by this in the hotel

    * If you drink tea or coffee there is some in the hotel but not much so take your own(they do have a kettle)

If i think of anything else i will let you know!!!!

Heya Thanks for all the support am so glad i found this site as am absorbing all the information like a sponge
