  1. I only told a couple people, I didn't even tell my kids cuz I didn't want to hear any negative comments. I was doing it for myself, so it didn't matter what other people thought. Although if I would of heard there negative thoughts it would have bothered me. My mother in law was pretty sure I had it done, but just stuck to telling people I was watching my carbs and I few mo later I started drinking fitsticks. Weightloss drink that helps with more than just weightloss and is all natural, then people didn't seem to concerned I was losing so much weight quickly cuz everyone is having great results with it. I told people I had surgery for a hernia, I couldn't keep it from work because I had to be off for awhile.

  2. I'm in so much pain. Trying to get Water crystal light down...is a struggle

I am surprised they don't give you enough pain medication to keep you comfortable. Having the pain under control has a big factor on the healing process. When they ask you to rate your pain make sure you rate it high, don't let them think that you are only in a little pain. Also when they get your pain under control make sure you stay on top of the pain, ask for something when you start to feel uncomfortable. Don't wait until the pain gets worse. Hope they get your pain under control and you start to feel better, try to get some rest.

  3. I understand what your going through, last year my wife and friends convinced me not to go through with the surgery. It felt like I was on that show Intervention only no flight to a lovely fat camp in Malibu. Lol. So I did what i've been doing all my life and tried this year to do it on my own with the same results. Finally my PCP and my Cardiologist convinced the Mrs. so as of know she's on board, but I decided besides our parents I'm not telling anyone about the procedure until after it's done. Last year there were too many Chiefs and not enough Indians. Goodluck.

They would have talked me out of it but I found out that I only have 2 mo to get it done, and if I wait I wont be considered for the surgery because I have lost enough weight to be under the BMI. That's good I lost but not enough. I know that if I am going to do it now is the time. i know that it is better because I don't have much time to talk myself out of it. LOL!!!!! I told my husband, he doesn't want me dto but like we know nobody understands. The only people that are going to know is my husband and my best friend. She is my support. Like you I don't want to hear everyones negative comments. After the surgery I will tell my kids. I don't care if people know after surgery because atleast I can't change my mind because of how everyone else feels about it. Hubby won't take time off to take me so she is going to take me to the hosp. we are 3 hrs away. Like I said I think he will be more support of once he realizes that I am ok and it is a good thing. Good Luck!!!!!!!

  4. Would LOVE to find another female have the sleeve on Dec.8/14 to speak with via text and help each other through the first several months!! Thanks!!

Hi, I am schedule also for Dec. 8. I wasn't planning on having surgery until next spring sometime, then I found out that I had to have it by the end of this year. I am ready for it but still kind of shocked it is happening so fast.

  5. My husband doesn't want me to do it, and then I start to think that maybe I can do it on my own. He tells me I can do it if I would exercise, doesn't quite get that it's not as easy as it sounds. Maybe I just didn't try hard enough, my dr gave me order for phentermine. I only have until the end of the year to make the decision, I just found out that it has to be by the end of the year. When I 1st started doctoring I was told I had 1 yr from the time I was approved. I was planning on doing it next spring, I have to be off work for 6 wks so I had to save and get ready to be without an income for 6 wks.

I am 40 yrs old, had breast cancer when I was 31, have high BP, high cholesterol, and borderline diabetes. So confused!!!

  6. I found out yesterday I was approved, but I was told that I would have a year to do the surgery. Now I am told it is only good until the end of the year. I am so bummed, I planned on having it next spring. I can't afford to be off work for 6 weeks now. I have to be off for atleast 6 wks because I have to lift 75lbs at work. Thinking maybe I should just say heck with it and try diet medication instead of surgery. Now that I am approved my husband tells me I don't have to have surgery because I can do it without surgery if I just exercise.
