I've probably lost about 18 pounds since I had my balloon in January. I took care of my dad for 4 years and before that I was pretty active. My dad has sinced passed so I'll be back to being more active and that should help a lot with weight loss. I plan on taking some actual healthy cooking classes. Maybe Chinese or Japanese as well. You're right about drinking a lot of Water. Too often I forget.

They do have a year long balloon and a duel balloon. I asked for both, but the Dr only had the single balloon. I'd certainly do the balloon again, but I'd rather have the double or extended versions.

I had my balloon put in in January. Sure I lost 20 lbs, but I lost that in the 1st month because I had to fast and get used to the balloon. Haven't lost amy weight since. It's been a big dissapointment for me.

I was considering Mexico too until the prices went down. It's best to do it in the USA..for many reasons. See Dr. Hong in Huntington Beach.

I just had my Obrera balloon inserted Thursday, Jan 5th 2016. Kind of painfull. Thew up a lot the first night. Still nauseous on Saturday. I can't wait until this first week is done. I'm sure the pain will subside. I have a craving for miso Soup. I'm going to order some and see how it goes. Otherwise I'm drinking coconut water; drinking no caff tea and eating fruit veggie popsicles I got from sprouts.
Note: This forum doesn't give a balloon option on the Surgery category under my picture.

So, I'm introducing myself. My name is Edward. I'm 61 years old and pretty healthy other then the extra weight. I weigh 280lbs at 5'10". I'm in the beginning phase. Blood work very good - my cholestoral's a little high. My blood pressure is xlnt 107/64. My colon is in great shape and the rest of my complete physical shows I'm doing fine. I still look great, but want to look better. I can't wait for the surgery to take place. I have been assigned to Dr. LaPorte in Fountain Valley, Ca. I have Anthem Blue Cross insurance.
I imagine there's a few more steps my Dr. wants me to take before surgery. Maybe see a counselor or attend a group session. I hope these other 'hoops' don't take too long as I want this lap band done ASAP. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Any veteran gastric balloon patients?

I had a gastric balloon put in 2 years ago. I lost about 25 pounds and gained it back. I should have had a gastric sleeve or gastric bypass done to make it permanent. I wouldn't do the balloon again.
