  1. HI there, Tricare was easy for me - I was one of the first approved when they decided it was a covered procedure (so things may have changed since then). My Dr. said I had Sleep Apnea (I did - and had surgery to fix it years before), so I don't know if that may have played a part in it - but they approved me right away - no additional documentation needed or anything! Good Luck and I HOPE you get approved fast! Keep me updated as to your progress.

  2. There is one at St. Luke's in The Woodlands, Dr. Spiegel's office in the Woodlands has one, but the one I like best is at University General in the Medical Center - it is huge - and they have awesome speakers come.

  3. So cool, we are both in Conroe - do you go to any support groups or anything? I have in the past, but kind of slacked off a few months ago.

  4. Wow, that is phenomenal! You are doing fantastic! I have always been a slow loser - even when the band is working well - so it is about a lb a week for me - but I will take it! Your pictures on FB are awesome - you are truly beautiful.

  5. Girl - you look so good! Things are going well for me - I am finally starting to lose again after the unfill for galbalder surgery and then the months of trying to get a fill that would work - so I am thankful. I need to lose 13 more lbs to get back to my lowest. But I am finally optimistic on it happening! How are things going in your world?

  6. I didn't have any problems getting approved - but I was one of the first that went through the system when Tricare started covering the procedure - so things may have changed now. When I went through - as long as you met the weight requirement - you were approved.

Good Luck and let me know how it goes!!!

    Bodybugg users report here!

Wow, thats awesome considering you get an additional 6 months -hmm, should I ask the hubbs or just get it?
  8. Congrats on being banded! I don't remember how many CCs I got - but I know it is in my BLOG somewhere - I documented everything. Here is a link to it, What do you mean I am getting a fill today - Lap Band Surgery and Lap Band Discussion Forum

  9. I don't see why it is offensive either. That WAS me before lapband. I think it is a pretty fair depiction.
  10. Ive had more than my share of surgeries and I have never woken up with a tube IN. Now, I do have a memory (dream-like) of the tube being pulled out - I told the Dr. at my last surgery and the anesthesiologist said she would make sure I didn't remember this one. Just tell them that is something you are worried about and they will do what they can to make sure it is removed before you come totally awake. Now, with that said - when I told the surgeon that I was worried about it he explained how sometimes it is necessary and sometimes they even put it in before surgery on EXTREMELY heavy/ill patients, then when he left the room, the anesthesiologist roller her eyes and told me not to worry about it that she would make sure I didn't remember anything. sigh, I loved her :-)

I am not voting because I can't decide who I want to stay. My vindictive side says keep Ron because he wants his son there, but I want to kick his butt off. Either way - I get a fill tomorrow! This should put me back where I was before my gallbladder surgery and on the road to happy band life again!

After last night - I think more is staged than I had originally thought - if anyone has it TIVOed, check the clock by the bed when Kristen brings her breakfast in bed - I swear it said 12 something. and I KNOW they get up early and workout. So it just seemed really phony to me. Maybe it was just another commercial, this time for the stinkin mattress.
  14. I am ALWAYS on FACEBOOK - I live on there! find me and add me Wendy Baldwin, Conroe, TX

  15. OMG! I am so excited for you!!!! That is my one true goal is to be under 200 lbs! I am doing pretty good - I have a little restriction - losing not quite 1 lb a week. I need to start working out - but I was having migraines and my Dr. said it is because I have injured my neck - so for a few more weeks I am supposed to take it easy and hopefully the headaches will go away completely.

Once I start going to the gym again - I will probably go back to get another fill - so I can get to where I was. I still have 20lbs to lose to get BACK to where I was before the surgery. It is a LOT harder this time.

You are my inspiration! Thanks you for doing so GREAT!!!

  16. We just got a new good will store in our neighborhood - I have been browsing - I am refusing to buy anything until my clothes now are too big! I would think you could contact your high school to get a copy of an old yearbook - but I don't really know. W

The brown teams brother at home - killed me. I wanted to hug him so bad. I still get teary-eyed when I think about it. I wish TBL would take him on for next season. I am sure he touched a lot of hearts last night. I was confused on the cookies too - we saw her eat them - I think she should have said who she put the points towards - cuz it adds to the drama. :-) W
  18. OMG! You are doing awesome! I am working on losing the weight that I gained when I was unfilled for surgery. It is slow going - about a lb a week. But that is what I average. It just sucks - it litterally only took a couple weeks to gain it and will take MONTHS to lose it! UGH!

Other than that - doing pretty good - I don't have a lot of restriction, but do have some.

I can't believe how much you have lost - that is awesome!!!

  19. Hey girly - my Dr. says gas is because you aren't swallowing right. His nurse made me practice in front of her - you take a drink of water - or whatever - let it go to the back of your throat - exhale all the air - then swallow. It seems like a lot - but once you do it a few times it becomes second nature. It really does help too.

Well good luck tomorrow - I won't be there (so sad) been at a funeral and my eyes are all swollen, nose running - look like hell and haven't slept in a couple of days - so not up to stand in line and have the happy pick me face. BUT good luck and don't forget to take a great - ugly, fat pic of you and go to their website and print the 9 page form - have it ready! Don't forget your lounge chair and drinks and snacks! Thats right - they want footage to show - give it to them girls! Rock ON!!

The idea that my job would be to workout and eat right and no other responsibilities would be awesome! I wouldn't be excited about wearing the oh-so-cute outfits, but when I think back about Allie and Michelle - I can't even remember what they looked like before - it is the after that I remember. I think it would be terribly difficult to be away from my family for that long - but the payoff would be fantastic. You are talking to an Army Brat and Air Force Wife - so I have lots of experience with being away from loved ones for long periods of time. I have heard "us" talk about how they don't teach them healthy eating - but I have never seen or heard that anywhere else (other than speculation). I think there is a lot that goes on that we don't see - and the producers want you to keep the weight off long term - so you can be their poster child - so I bet they teach a lot more than we think. I would do it for the gym/trainer access 24hours a day. No job, no hubby, no phones just working on making yourself healthier. I think it would be awesome (minus the weighing in and unflattering clothes, and editing, of course) Plus I would have the band to keep me from gaining it back! I keep thinking they wouldn't let a LB person on there - but who knows I keep my hopes high that we will get a contestant that has had WLS and isn't a moron!

I totally want to go, here is the info off of Channel 2 News: HOUSTON -- "The Biggest Loser," NBC's hit weight-loss reality show that changes lives, is coming to Houston to look for possible contestants. The show is looking for outgoing and charismatic people who have the desire and competitive edge to vie for the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to change their lives forever and to compete for $250,000. They are casting for both individual competitors and teams. An open casting call will be held on Saturday, March 7, at Dave and Buster's, 7620 Katy Freeway, from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Show representatives will do their best to see the first 500 people in line. They asked that people not line up more than three hours before the start time.Bring a non-returnable photo of yourself to the casting call. Contestants must be 18 years of age and a legal resident of the U.S. Do you have a partner? Or are you trying out on your own? I want to - but I think I would have a better chance of getting it if I had a partner - seems all their shows are going that way. I can't talk anyone I know into it - they are all like - OMG, no, and let people see me in those clothes and see how much I weigh. I would totally do it. I am trying to get back to Houston area in time to go - I have a funeral tomorrow out of town - so it may get sticky. Take lots of pictures of the lines and such - so everyone can see what it is like. Hope to see you there!!!!

If they chose me - I would let them say whatever they want! I am thinking about going to the tryouts - I am still way fat and gained 20lbs after my band was unfilled for a surgery - I would love to get ahead by being on BL - then have my band tightened sounds like the perfect life to me. My problem is choosing the right foods and working out (I am pretty sure that is everyones problem - WLS or not). If I could go there for a few months - have a personal trainer kick my ass daily and have food choices made for me and learn to eat right - that would be awesome. I think I would learn a lot - then have the best of both worlds - a band that could be tightened afterwards to help me keep the weight off. Tryouts in Houston in a week - anyone want to be my partner?
  24. Hey there! Things are finally getting back to normal over here. I have been without restriction for almost 3 months! Ugh, I gained 20lbs during that time. Last week I had a fill (I was unfilled for Surgery the first of December). I feel some restriction again - not where I need to be, but I will take it. Anything is better than nothing! Hopefully next week or the week after I can get another fill and start losing the weight I have gained. Sucks so bad. Other than that - we are doing good - I have to break off my love affair with food again. Hopefully he won't take it too hard this time. :-)
