    Way off topic..Is amazon.com gone?

:faint: ok, I am going wACKEd. I couldn't get on for a whole day. Then the next day, no problem. all systems go.
  2. I am an Amazon.com junkie. I need at least a daily fix of book etc surfing. Every time I log on the past day or so....the site is just ...blank. Is my computer on the blink? Am I imagining things? What happened to Amazon??? Hoping its a temporary condition. :faint:

    Any Bookworms out there??

What are you currently reading? I am a self confessed bibliophile. I love books, I love the smell of them, the look of them, the weight of them in my hands. Like Thomas Jefferson says. "I cannot live without Books." I am also an unashamed, unembarassed romance junkie. So the bulk of my reading tends to be romance novels/fiction. But that is far from my total consumption. I can't find a new website without sharing my passion. I am a pretty fast reader, and I read alot. I like to share, compare and find new reads and authors. So...what are you reading???? A few of the books I've read in the past month. Valley of Silence... Nora Roberts Match Me If You Can ...Susan Elizabeth Phillips Eat & Stay Thin... Joyce Meyer Light My Fire... Katie MacAlister Lap-Band for Life... Ariel Ortiz Lagardere Firestorm... Rachel Caine Happily banded...happy reader. Missy

    A thread for Single Bandsters

I think that on-line dating is ok. I wish it didn't have such a negative stereotype attached to it. Long story short. 7 years ago I met a guy in a chat room. We ended up living together for 3 years. We broke up..(another sad saga). But it certainly wasn't because I met him on the internet. I would do it again someday. I'm just not ready, and to be truthful, my priorities have changed a lot since then.

    Any Bookworms out there??

Kristi! Your book recommendation intrigued me, I had to go to amazon.com myself and do a search. The book is called Ghost Fox by James Houston. It is actually a YA book, but it sounded really good, had great reader reviews. I have put in on my wish list. Thanks for a good recommend. Currently reading: Black Ice by Anne Stuart. On my TBR: Moon Awakening by Lucy Monroe. Just finished The Dream Hunter. I am a huge fan of Sherrilyn Kenyon's books. IMO, this wasn't one of her greater books. I was more fascinated by the secondary characters than by the hero/heroine. It was ok, but not memorable. !!! (i am waiting anxiously for Ash's books)!!!

    13cc VG Bands..anyone else?

No flaming pls. I am miserable. I am not sure how to move past my own compulsive behaviors. I am trying to listen to my body, stop when full, eat healthy....yadda yadda...yadda. I have a 13cc band. 10.5 cc at present. I can still eat pretty much a regular portion. It is slightly less than pre-band. Yesterday...I went and walked on the treadmill for 20min. Did 10 minutes of mild wt training and went home feeling good. I was home 1 hour.......... I ATE AN ENTIRE BOX OF LITTLE DEBBIE MARSHMALLOW TREATS. I DIDN'T GET SICK...NO PB...NO SLIME....NO PAIN. OMG....THEY WENT DOWN SMOOTH AND GOOD. ........ FAILURE. I pretty much hate myself at the moment. This is not the first fall off the wagon so to speak. .... compulsive carb craving.... like an addict craving heroin.
  8. Does anyone else have the 10cm VG band with 13cc fill capacity?? If so, what amt did you need for restriction? I am 9 months out. Total fills 10.5 cc and still don't have good restriction. What has worked for you? Just wondering. I see so many with the "10cc vg band" but not the one I have. Is there anyone else out there??? feeling lonely....:phanvan thanks Missy
  9. ok, when I hit browse, it goes to my computer. I can't get to the image host. I have photos on kodak gallery, snap fish and sony image station. I can't figure out how to retrieve any of them. I have yet to figure out how to get a photo on here. I need simple instructions. Everytime I try to post a photo on my space, it says...image to large. I downloaded "inranview?" sp... like they recommended. waste of time. hello....it doesn't come with instructions. Any time I have managed to get a picture to post, its shear one-hit wonder luck. Never works a second time. I have resigned myself to stupid-dom. Sorry for the rant.

    13cc VG Bands..anyone else?

Thanks for the words of encouragement!!

10mo out and finally have restriction!!!

Congratulations Molly. This is very encouraging for me. I have the 13cc VG band. Currently at 10.5cc in my band and still looking for good restriction. I can still eat much more than the average bander and as a result I am a very slow loser. My doctor prescribes a 7 day liquid diet post fill, which is where I loose the most of my weight. By 3-4 weeks post fill, I am eating regular again. I had my 3rd fill mid january. Now I am just wondering how long I need t wait to get the next one.

    Any Bookworms out there??

I haven't read a Maeve Benchy in a while. May have to give one a try again. I really enjoy most Nora Roberts books, but I have to admit, she is a hit or miss for me. Some books I really really love, others are just so so. My fave Nora Roberts. Honest Illusions, Carnel Innocence and Blue Smoke. Her last 2 trilogies, the flower one and the paranormal were ok, but made no lasting impression (can't recall the names at the moment. .) I loved her "dream" trilogy and "island sisters" trilogies. todays book: The Killing Hour by Lisa Gardner. really like her recent work. TBR stack: Chasing Stanley by Deidre Martin and The Callahan brothers trilogy by JoAnn Ross.

Looking for Bandsters near Denton, TX

Richard, I look forward to seeing...."da bus". Your website is really really great. I was a teen in the 70's so my memories are similar. Does anyone remember the Texas Jams of the early 80's. Huge rock venues held every summer for several years at the cotton bowl. Those were fun.

    May Bandsters~February Chat!

Didn't quite make the Valentines day challenge. But I got darned close! I have been stuck at same wt for about 2 weeks. I am going for a mini St.Patricks day challenge. The good news is, I am hanging in there with my treadmilling....sorta. Averaging 2 days per week instead of 3. But I keep thinking...this is so much better than 2 years ago when I was a total couch potato slug. Drew...hope your leg is improving. Marci, congratulations on Onederland. Your pictures look wonderful. ps..I think you look taller too!!

Omg Kristi, how scary! I am glad it wasn't worse. Take care of that leg, don't over do it to soon. Too much to soon can cause escalating problems like infection etc. (....just tell the nurse in me to shut up..lol), but...WISHING YOU A SPEEDY RECOVERY. Same ice storm maybe??. Two weeks ago, during that 4 day icer in OK, I was acutally visiting a friend in Durant. We were housebound for 2 days. 2pm...sitting in the living room in our pj's/robes.......we hear this HUGE crashing noise. We both jump up, run to the door. A (about 60-70 foot) huge tree in her neighbors yard had fallen....right on a passing minivan!!!! We go running out there, a family of 4 in the car. The body of the car was totalled. It fell right on top of the car, by the grace of God, no one was hurt. I keep thinking, what if a tree branch had poked thru the glass, someone could have been killed. It turned out ok, but it made for a scary, and exciting afternoon. We had the two kids in the house with us for about 2 hours during all the comotion. They had to cut the tree up before they could remove the car. Ice is scary and dangerous. Kristi, keep us posted.

    Is this GURGLING normal?

Mine gurgles/growls occ too. It was often just after surgery, and I've noticied that it increases a lot the first few weeks after a fill, then settles down again.

    Anna Nicole Smith has died

Sometimes I feel I am just not getting it. . I am just amazing that a deceased nude model with a history of drug addiction sparks so many posts.

    What Peeves you?

When having a conversation with someone and they answer their cell phone...and make you stand there...and stand there...waiting. I think its so rude. 99% of the time...its not an emergency or even mildly urgent...just chit chat. Bothers me a lot. Ppl who don't wash hands after using the restroom. GROSS!!!! I have a positive phobia about this. I am telling you, stand and watch. So many ppl don't wash their hands. Ewwwww. Parents who allow their children to misbehave in public. Kids who are throwing loud and noisy temper tantrums should be removed from public areas. Those drivers who have the base on the radio SO LOUD, it rattles the windows. It is another of those things I consider very rude. I am sure they think they are very "cool", but its just rude. I don't want to listen to it. It has actually given me a headache in the past.

    Any Bookworms out there??

Kyretha, I love SK and LKH. Two of my fav authors and always on my auto-buy list. Sherrilyn has a new dream hunter novel coming out tomorrow!!! As for sci-fi/fantasy...Have you read any of JC and Barb Hendee's books? The Nobel Dead series is fantastic. My latest reads: Blood Bound by Patricia Briggs. (paranormal fantasy) This was a great book. I thought book 2 much better than book 1 (Moon Called). Todays read: Close to you by Kathryn Shay. 1/2 done and so far pretty good. (romantic suspense)

Do you sleep in the nude?

I usually sleep naked or with just a short tee. Anything more I will get tangled up in. If I do fall asleep with clothes on, they are always wadded up at the end of the bed by the time I wake up. In winter I do go to bed with socks sometimes..those always end up off to though.

I had a pt last night who's husband came walking in to see her at visiting hours, she had some minor cardiac issues and had successful angioplasty. Her eyes lit up when he walked in with his daughter. She reached up both arms for a hug. She is 91...he is 93. They told me they have been married for 73 years. I was so touched, it was so sweet. Can you imagine??? I can't.
