  1. Now about me.... I wore my smallest (size 6) jeans and I didn't feel like a sausage. I cheated (was going to wait till 5/1) and weighed myself127! a few more lbs and I will be my bounce zone (Like that expression who ever posted it thank you!) Now I will continue what I am doing but will resist the urge to weigh myself till 5/1! For me this really helps I get obsessed with the scale! Logging in here makes all the difference in the world.
  2. 4ALonger Life, look at how much weigh you have lost! You will get down to 140 easy (Don't know how tall you are) I am 5'6". What I know is if you follow the plan you WILL get to goal. I stayed at goal for a few years, I only gained because I was not following a plan and just ate slider foods and ate very little protein. Keep in touch with VST it will give you support.
  3. you go girl..I am going to try and not weigh myself till may 1st. I need to focus on what I put in my mouth! Logged in my food for today. VERY stressful day at work, thought my head would blow off, came home and drink a protein shake. Just for today I made it. going to go read and go to bed early, have to at work @ 4am yuck!
  4. OK scrap the 5 day pouch test... After some investigation it is just not for me nor do I believe it is sound advice, the person (non-medical) who "invented it" has a web site and sells a book. Anyway..back to my original plan...Plan what to eat and eat what I plan. I do feel better. I know I can lose this weight, LOVE the sleeve. Not going to weigh again until May 1.
  5. yesterday succumbed to Easter candy…Oh the food addiction raises its head…Need to get back on my roll….Gonna check out the 5-day pouch test, might be just what I need. Tossing all the dark chocolate at my daughters house today, since I am spending the day there (she also has a sleeve so she gets it) But there are grandkids involved so we can't toss it all. Thank God I can resist milk chocolate and hate peeps-they gross me out. My roommate bought some candy ( at least I didn't eat that!!) it is going this AM!! So there it is, today is another day. I agree with "hating to diet" I was retired from it, now I will be semi-retired for a while… The newbie, normal feels like I can live in my body. You will get there. Dee
  6. Ok fellow made it to goal, I am back and need support. There are still a few of us left who still log on. I can remeber each of us starting our journey (Oregeon Daisy-you helped me so much make my decision!) I did OK yesterday confined myself to dark chocolate only! Just planned what I am going to eat today..takes the pressure off!!!! I tried on my "smallest" size 6's yesterday, they were not sausage tight but still not wearable for me. 5ish more lbs down should put me in my bounce zone...
  7. You did the first best thing logged into VST! Eat some Protein, dense then you will be too full to graze. I know the grazing trap so easy..Unfortunately we have to live a a world full of food. I also chew gum, some people say it makes you hungry but it helps me do something with my mouth (I also blow big bubbles..entertaining to myself). You are doing great ! Plan what to eat and eat what you plan!!!! Best to you.
  8. Down 0.2. Today is going to be hard. Potluck central at work! Gotta find ham first then I will be too full for the rest of the "sliders" Candy is my nemisis repeat.... Have a blessed Easter, no matter what you believe, spring is upon us.....
  9. spent the weekend away...didn't plan my food (would have been rude to my hosts!) but I just eat in moderation. Weighed the first 130.4 will see 120's next month for sure! Day off so on the chores I didn't get to over the weekend. First thing is to make my food plan for the day. How is everyone else doing???
  10. I drink a diet soda every now and then but I am over 2 years out. I was never a big soda drinker before. I drink alot of tea (warm w/vanilla soy slender*, cold w/splenda) so I need a change every now and then (Water is not my beverage of choice) Each of us is different. *sweet and has less sugar than milk and has protein-I use this for Cereal also-which I rarely eat) Best to you. Dee
  11. I am still here. last night had a carb crave, drank a warmed Premier Protein drink. I had formed a really bad habit of snacking while reading in bed (carbs of course-healthy carbs ha-ha) put the nix on that! Planned my food for the planning to eat what I planned. Lets keep this alive. Dee
  12. happy for you, I agree w/being accountable. I will weigh myself on Sunday the 1st. I have been logging my food for 7days now. I really did get off track. I feel better eating more protein! You go girl..I am right behind you Dee
  13. Mini-me, I am so the same 5'6" I feel good at 127, gonna try to get to 125. I saw 134 and freaked out. The only reason I weighed myself was because my biggest pair of jeans (still size 6) were getting tight. My old MO was to just buy bigger pants thank god I don't need to go there anymore. Not going to weigh myself till the first. The scale will just rule my life! Right now I know what I need to do. check-in also.. Love my sleeve! Dee
  14. Follow your the food plan, I didn't like the one I got from Dr. Aceves. I used one called Cornell for the sleeve, it worked for me. Plan what to eat and eat what you planned. I also kept a copy hung up and crossed off each day. It kept me motivated and on track. This is ilfestyle change. Your stomach has to heal you had surgery! Best to you. (do not beat yourself up, I have had my fill with all the crazy diets I tried over the years) I consider myself a retired dieter. Dee
  15. I think the best advice is too follow a food plan. I used the cornell sleeve plan got it off the web. No matter which one it will give you some structure. I know for me, given to my own devices when I was first sleeved I would have sabatoged myself. Best to you no matter what you decide! Dee
  16. try logging your food so you get a good feel on how much Protein vs. carb you are really eating. (I use sparkspeople.com) there are lots of sites to choose from, most are free (mine is) I recently put some weight back on because I went back to my carb diet. I got sick of Protein shakes etc, it is really challenging for me to get enough protein without some form of supplement. I am trying to get over 100 grams a day and never more carbs (today I had 121 protein and 67 carbs) I won't keep logging in my food once I get back in the groove. I LOVE this sleeve (I had a band and it sucked!) make it work for you! keep logging on to this board. (I heated up a Protein Drink, Premier chocolate, it worked for, yeah!!) Best to you.. Dee
  17. All can tell you is keep doing what you are doing follow your food plan, each of us is different YOU WILL lose! Get off the scale! I only weighed myself once a month. Remember this is a lifestyle change not "another diet" best of luck to you. Keep loggin in her for support. I am 2 years out and have kept my weight off (I have but on some but that was because I was just basically eating slider carbs) The good new I didn't have to buy the next bigger size clothes! Dee
  18. Since I have gained some I am not worried about being too thin. I did this to be healthy and stop the yo-yo down 40 up fifty...So I quess I am a light weight, but my struggle is the same. Each of us has our own path. That being said I am now 1000-1200. I use sparkspeople to track, my main goal right now is to get enough Protein in. I am positive that is way I gained carbed out way too much. I don't obsess about the scale. My jeans were way too tight. That is what got me to be serious again. Dee
  19. Irene, I just read this entire thread. YOU ARE AMAZING!!! The last pic of your legs is unreal they are great looking. You rock. Gonna post some more before and after? Hope all is still going well for you. I am inspired. Thank you. Dee
  20. I didn't have heartburn aka GERD before my sleeve. I now take 2 PPI's a day. I guess it is a small price to pay for this sleeve. I really does work. Get an Rx or OTC if you have s... insurance. Dee
  21. crackers are a slider food for me. I need to stay away from them! Everyone is different. You'll know..'Did I really eat that many!" good luck I love my sleeve!!!!!
  22. I didn't really follow a diet plan per say. I use sparkspeople.com to track my carbs and Protein. I changed it to have more protein. I have a sweet tooth too. Gave up candy for lent. (just like I did when I was a kid) however I was eating Cookies etc...finally could only get in to one pair of my size 6 jeans, NO WAY am I buying bigger sizes. I used to have a collection and just kept moving up, Gave them all away. I do love this sleeve.I got 7 lbs to lose (hope to lose 10 so I have some room to sway a few lbs) Keep in touch! Dee
  23. I have days when I can eat a lot. But if I eat Protein first I am full. slider foods are slider foods. I need to stay away from trigger foods> crackers whole wheat, rice crackers, choclate, candy...no wonder I gained weight! on the path again. loggoed my food for 2 days now. I am going back to once a month weigh in till I get back to 127! Dee
