  1. I have been looking for this? Can't seem to find it. How long until you could take your regular medications? I am getting a new Rx for meds I can crush. I am very concerned about this, it took me a while to "find" the right meds. I take a time release (once a day) I want to start back as soon as possible. What did your surgeon tell you? D.
  2. great story. I felt so bad when I first started reading it. Nice ending! Congrats on your loss!!! D.

  4. Tiff, THANK YOU, GONNA READ THEM ALL... D.
  5. How close where you to goal when you got your revision? :confused1:How many months did it take you to get to goal? :confused1:Any issues with maintaining? :scared0: I am so close to my revision! Complete unfill on Monday. Got my $ set aside. My passport card is in my wallet. Thank you all for the information and support thus far.:biggrin0: D.

Been off of the scale...I know I have gained weight..:crying: getting my unfill Monday. :ack2: I'll be sleeved before I know it! Reading other posts about folks at goal and eating normal foods will get me thru this. Love this board. Going to make Monday my weigh day.:w00t:
  7. Geesh...one more worry. I am pretty close to my goal 25-30lbs. Do you think I will still lose hair??:scared0:I didn't with the lapband, as a matter of fact I grew my hair out! I always had short hair. I am loving my hair, please say it isn't so!!!:confused1:
  8. Go to his web site and there is a form to fill out. They will screen you and then set up a date. Good luck with your journey. There are other surgeons out there. I am having a revision so I wanted a doc who was experienced with this procedure. Suggestion: Don't let cost be your only guide. Keep us posted. D.

This has got to stop! :w00t:
  10. Jules, I will be sleeved by the time you get to Mx. I am getting a revision (this band just is not for me!) Keep in touch. Happy you made the decision. I got 'most" of my fat suit off with the band but I am slowing gaining weight....30 lbs from my goal weight. (was 25lbs away last month!-20lbs the month before-Yikes :scared0:I keep getting food stuck so I eat crappy...) Let your journey begin:party4: D. (been to Medford quite a few times, my roomate grew up in Eagle Point)
  11. I am stocking up on stuff..I got sample packets of various protein samples (there is a link on this forum, I think it is Oregon Daisy's?) I was going to taste them all be decided I would just try them after my surgery. I read some posts where tastes changed. I don't want to buy a crap load of something than hate it! I have my Costco protein drinks I know I like, I have one every morning, warm it up at work, good start for the day! I am on the lookout for clear protein drinks, bought a few of those for the clear liquid stage. I am not going to use collagen protein, going to stick to whey. Most of the protein bullets have collagen (made from boiled cow hide-thank you for that info OD!) I also read that Whey isolate is more bioavailable . I did try the Injury chicken soup, kinda salty, but I they sent me recipes with the samples, think I might use it w/mashed potatoes for the mushy stage. I also tried the Chike, really good might order more of those orange cream and banana. I also stocked up on tomato soup (sure hope this is ok concerned about the acidity? I love tomato soup!!!) and some other organic kinds. I am going to do my best to eat normal whole food when all this is said and done (I know that I will still have to use protein drinks) Going to buy me some bottles of isopure (at GNC) I did try the orange, nothing I would drink on a regular basis but for the clear liquid stage it will give me protein. I plan on taking clear injury protein with me for the plane ride home. Figure I can buy some clear drink at the airport. I am off work for two weeks after surgery so I will have time to share my experience on this forum. I have my own shelf in the pantry that I am stocking this stuff (In fact organized it today!) Hope this helps some. I get sleeved a week after you. Who is doing your surgery? D.
  12. Ok I am really thinking of tossing my scale, I have been gaining weight because I am so afraid of something getting stuck! Today I was "29 lbs to lose" that is only 4 lbs from when I started seriously thinking of the revision. It is 9 lbs up from my lowest weight with the band. I get my unfill 3/1. :thumbup1: So glad when this obsession is finally over!:thumbup1: On a positive note off the caffeine. Only drinking decaf tea. Don't drink coffee (latte now and then-will get decaf) Ok I know chocolate has caffeine but not there yet! :001_smile: D.
  13. What other Ask Dr. Aceves questions did you have? Are there any you wished you would have asked him? Glad he sutures over the staple lines makes me feel better. Getting close...

been not doing so good food wise. Eating slider again..had ice cream at work yesterday. Now I am scared I will just "eat around the sleeve" then I think if you could eat a solid food then maybe it would be Ok and the hunger thing if my hunger leaves I think I can do this. Since I am close to goal (moving further away!!) I hope to be at goal by July. Maybe this is unrealistic but I am getting this sleeve done. If I didn't think it would work for me I wouldn't do it. I am looking forward shopping for new clothes! I know that when I pull out my skinny stuff it will be way outdated (lucky me). Today is a new day I will see what it brings. NO ICE CREAM TODAY!:w00t:
  15. so what do you think is the best product?
  16. Ya know I think most of us are "professional dieters" aka Yo-Yo dieters. I am having a revision I have waited to get an unfil because I know I will pack on the lbs. Gonna have it unfilled ~2 weeks before. I have been gaining weight. I am so scared of getting something stuck (soooo unpredictable) that I have been eating slider food. I get SO hungry. I look at it this way. This sleeve is the last stop for me. I can't go on living like this with this band. Best of luck with your decision. I am planning on retiring as a profession dieter!!! D.
  17. Margo, keep us posted I am right behind you...Enjoy the sun! :drool5: D.
  18. This is first post I read today. What an inspiration! Still been having some "should I do this" What if it doesn't work...This post helps seal the deal for me. Thank you, Thank, Thank you.:drool5: D.
  19. Ok I am reading about some who get staples removed, stitches removed. What does Dr. Aceves do? I want to make sure if I need to see my PCP that I have an appointment all set up. VST has been so helpful to me. onward D.
  20. Please tell me this hunger goes away!! I am now stressing out, should I do this?? Am I going to be hungry all the time! I thought that with a sleeve we would not be very hungry because of the decrease in ghrelin? This is the first I heard of someone feeling like they were starving. Anyone else feel like this? seems like it would be torture to be staving and not be able to eat?? Hang in there!!! :001_unsure:Look at the weight you have lost!!! D.

My drinking yesterday at work was a flop I got some strawberry powerade zero and mixed in unflavored injury powder. Well I just couldn't do it! I do not like "kool aid" taste :ack2: anything! I tried to sip it but just couldn't do it!. I also think I am going to wait and try the samples I got post-op. I only have 10 days (I think that is what Dr. Aceves requires) of clear. When I can drink full I will be able to have my tea and soy slender, can down a pot of that no problem. The good news is I didn't have ice cream yesterday! Ok I ate a cookie...:w00t: and some M&M's This hunger thing is really getting to me lately. This band sucks!
  22. Collegen protein is made from boiled cow hide. That is what the protein bullets are made from. OMG I have drank these now I am grossed out....Put my glasses on and read the ingredients in all the protein samples I got. No wonder they have so much protein. I am going to "steer" clear of them! D.
  23. Thank you all for this feedback, I comfortable about the port removal now! Now let me think what else can I obsess about (haha) . Today going to try and sip Water all day see how I do..."Post-op at work pretend day". D.
  24. Congrats, love the picture of the scale! You must feel on top of the world! Yes if you can do it we can do it. That is the main reason I log onto this board to get inspired. YOU DeeDee are an "official" inspiration to us all!!!:001_tongue:

I changed my unfill date to 3/1 just not ready to trust myself! I need to start exercising but I am unable to do anything that involves feet, I had surgery on my foot and I still have pain, there is talk of removing a nerve!! I do lift weights also but I think I won't be able to do that post surgery. I do some walking at work it tops out my foot for sure! I love to exercise so this really sucks for me. Was really hungry yesterday..sure hope this sleeve can curb that feeling, I hate fighting it. This band is keeping me honest most of the time (we have soft serve ice cream at work :w00t: lately I have been having a cup at about 3p with chocolate syrup and nuts of course...and to make it worse you serve yourself) today I am going to have a protein drink ready, I bought a bunch of samples on line.
