  1. Wow that's crazy that you can feel it pass!!!! Are you an Aquarius?? haha! Maybe you're just exceptionally "tuned in" to your body. I am, I know what's going on w/ it at all times, but I do not feel the food go through. I think you should get another fill just to try to process alittle furhter along in your journey but def talk to your MD about your concerns. Maybe they've heard of someone who could feel it. LUck luck luck!!!

  2. I am 6 wks out and the first 3 wks I weighed EVERY SINGLE DREADED DAY, just like you. But then I realized, I was doing everything right, felt so confident, felt strong and was so proud of myself....until the moment I stepped on that scale. When it didn't say what I wanted it to, it destroyed my mood, confidence, and day. I realized that negative feelings from that were causing me to snack during wk 3. So I put it away. I weigh once every week on Friday mornings, and I still don't like that it's not moving but I know in my head I'm doing everything right, I'm not gaining, and I'm holding onto my confidence and making new good habits until I get to that sweet spot. The scale really does deflate your confidence!!!

  3. Just wanted to give my opinion on this real quick. My md and nutritionist said no soda or carbonated beverage for the rest of your life. B/c the carbonation is the drink in your pouch can cause your pouch to swell, thus undoing the whole point of the surgery. They said it's the #1 reason why people fail after the surg. I have just made peace with not having it anymore!!!

  4. I had my first fill today. I have a 10cc realize band and I got a 4cc fill, per my surgeon's protocal. Next fill in 3-4 wks. I told my md i hadn't lost weight in 4 wks and he said I was doing perfect. Healing very well, jogging and walking, staying below 1100 calories and for me not to worry over it. I guess I will calm down and not be so hard on myself. The weight will come off in time w/ me doing what I am.

  5. liz - come into the chat room here and u will see that not only r u not alone, but this phase is completely normal. u arent doing anything wrong. its called bandster hell. its the period where your band isnt starting to be fully functional yet. it may also take a few fills to get it right. one friend described it as a nail w/o a hammer. another tool image: imagine a tool belt with several tools in it. the band is only one of them. theres exercise - which is good but, you should only start with your doc's approval, since this is the time to HEAL. another tool in your tool belt is the choices you make in general. good food choices, etc. the band is only one tool in your arsenal.

Congrats on starting C25k though. it will help a lot. i hope this helps and if u want to come chat, im there pretty much every nite.

    tc,

    Carol

thank you!!! i'm just trying to stay mentally strong b/c I know this will pass and I need to keep my good behaviors going and not revert back!!! Oh and i never asked my mD about jogging, i never imagined it'd be bad for me! I will have to ask!!!

  6. I DID IT! Yay~

Ok, so my hat is off to ALL of you that run for 60 secs or more at a time! I tried the Couch to 5k podcast yesterday. Let me tall ya, I cannot run for 60 secs straight! QUOTE]

just keep at it! I just set it in my mind I will 5-10 seconds further each time. As long as it's gradual improvement, it's improvement!!!

  7. Congrats on just "doing it"!!!

I also want to run -- but as you can see by my ticker -- I am significantly larger than any of you.

Should I just wait until I'm a more normal size??

Actually, that is one of my goals. To be able to run - just really "run" - (and not jiggle and flip-flop like crazy of course!)

   )

I just started running and I'm 258 lbs! it feels awesome and everyday I push further and further. And I do it at a gym where people look at me. I don't care, this is about me, my body, my goals. When I'm 150 and pounding on that treadmill they won't give me a second look. Unless of course they're starring b/c I'm so hott!!!

  8. Hi! I'm new here. 4 wks out from banding and haven't had fills so I'm in that horrible spots so I've been extra committed to working out. I started to c25k program 2 days ago. I did 3.2m in 60 minutes and then 56 minutes the second day. I see you guys do it in 30-40 mins so that will be my goal! Guys, I'm not losing any weight. I haven't lost "WEIGHT" in 3 wks now and I've done everything right, even workout 30-60 minutes a day 5-6 days a week. What am I doing wrong??

  9. OMG I loved and hated what I read on this thread. I am 4 wks out and about 2wks from first fill. I'm in bandster hell, officially, although still maintaining what I lost. I have been expecting to have more restriction w/ my first fill and then you guys say no, that sucks. I just pray for some reason I'm different and it's at least minor restriction b/c I can really get down an insane amount of food if I wanted to. Don't need to be doing that. I am planning on adding jogging soon so maybe that will also be the boost I need.

  10. I am 4 wks post op today and I'd say the "bandster hell" is the worst part. for the first 2 wks I was doing fab goin' through the "honeymoon phase" w/ restriction, losing weight left and right. But now I have no restriction and I'm giving in to the snack monster. I have faith I can do well b/c I have done really well just minor slip ups. I stay under 1100 calories a day, and work out 30 mins a day, so I'm just keeping my focus on that until my first fill on 7/28!!!

  11. Oo! :huh2: Do explain, please! :)

Thank you! Perhaps it will make me feel better about being alone.

what she was talking about it some people's partner's cannot deal with you losing weight. If both ppl are overweight, the "still overweight" person feels like they aren't good enough or the "losing weight" person feels better than they do. There have been a few guys on here that this happened to and the chicks eventually dumped 'em b/c they were fighting so much. I think it only seems to be a huge issue if your parnter is overweight or your partner has low self esteem and thinks you're going to leave them after you lose the weight.

  12. I had a tiny fill yesterday, and my mom could see I was not in a good mood. So she drags out these jeans that she swears will fit me. They were a size 16.

Well these must be some Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants friggen magic jeans, because lo and behold I didn't even have to struggle into them. I almost cried I was so happy. Yes, they are stretch-ish and yes, they are not the slim-est of cuts (they're actually "Not Your Daughter's Jeans", if that means anything to you). But they were a size 16. I can't remember the last time I was a size 16. Probably 8 years ago.

I still wear a size 18 in majority of pants, and I'm still rocking size XL clothes (thanks boobs). But I have one pair of super flattering jeans that say size 16 on them.

Ahhhh! you need to perk it up! They're 16's, woooo hooo! And you know what you should do to cheer up?? Measure yourself! The scale is not your friend, but you are NOT that number on that scale. Measure yourself and weeks the lbs won't go anywhere but the inches will fall off! It is such a motivator. Last wk I lost 1.5 lbs, but 10.25 inches!!! It's so weird but beyond amazing! I refuse to weigh myself now!

  13. I updated them on here and my personal site. My fav is the last one, it's a 2 pic stomach collage, from after surg day to like 2 days ago! I can finally see the difference and where the 32 inches have come from! Super stoked and motivated!

  14. I love this, must participate!

    halfway there goals

    1. tattoo "the path one must travel to reach greatness passes through the realm of pain. with the heart of lion, perservere i shall." on the middle of my back, not too huge, just big enough to read.

when i'm at my goal weight, I hope to:

    1. do a belly dancing class awesomely

    2. be a yoga body w/ tight skin

    3. run a marathon (26.1 miles)

    4. be healthy inside and feel great

    5. more tattoos probably

    6. travel to where I can hike and explore and just be active and do my photography.

  15. ...body wraps! I was told they work and you maintain the result if you are eating properly and working out regularly. But if you are doing nothing, get them done, and continue to do nothing then you lose the result. So I'm figuring if I'll constantly be shrinking, would I maintain the results from a body wrap?? I already have 2 saggy areas I'd like toned up a little bit. Any help would be fabulous!

  16. I was banded 10 days ago but also lost weight pre-op. So since losing a total of 21 lbs, my NSV's are:

*Down from size 22 to size 20!

*Shirts down from 2x to 1x (xl) some brands!

*Panties actually went down from size 9 to 8, no more saggy butt!

*Had the courage to talk to a new hot guy at work and he was super friendly and flirty!!!

    *Lost 21.75 inches so far!

*Can reach all the way to the far end of my trunk! hehe! 5 inches of belly gone!

  17. I'm just wondering how ppl in their 20's that are still big, single, and losing weight deal with dating. I am a single mother and between that and my weight I haven't dated in 2 yrs. What do u do if someone asks you out and wants to go out to eat? Do you tell them straight forward?? My mom said a dude would think I'm the "incredible shrinking woman" as they date me.

I almost PB'ed in a one-on-one meeting w/ my Supervisor today. So embarassing. If he knew, he probably would be way understanding of a PB. haha!
