MAYBE THAT WAS THE TRICK TO NOT HAVING ANY GAS PAINS OR PROBLEMS.:D

I am so glad you posted this! I am having surgery on a Wednesday and I have to go back to school on Monday. I have had 3 c-sections and I can't see this being worse! Yay..thanks for posting!!:clap2:

  3. Teabagging is a slang term for the act of a man placing his genitals, specifically the scrotum, on the face, head, or in the mouth of another person.

    Chilidogging

When you are tit f**king a girl and you take a dump on her chest to provide lubricant. The resulting penis covered in excrement between her tits resembles a disgusting chili dog.

Okay who makes this stuff up?? And what country does this occur in? I am all about trying something new but the day my husband shits on my chest, there best be a new car in the driveway of my new house!

no thanks KY would be my choice!! ugghhh......who cleans it up? I am getting a visual here...oh no!:faint:

  4. I don't know about the rest of you but I am getting so excited, i've been pacing, figiting, holding my breath (ha ha that is a special one) and I feel like I could puke. Oh yeah and I am in the bathroom way too many times a day....at the rate I am going I'll be thin by the time I get to the hospital..lol.

I go for my pre-op on the 12th so I don't know about the liquid diet yet. But I did buy my 3rd case of slim fast so I can start conditioning myself prior to surgery. Found my pedometer. Took out my sneakers (actually wearing them today and my feet went "whoa, what are these, they don't look like flip-flops....LOL)

I expect that I will prob be hyper-ventiliating the week before...LOL. I need a cocktail. I am not worried just really really psyched!

  5. Would madam care for a waffer thin mint?

    It's only waffer thin...

This is so sad, but I gag every time i hear that.. Mr Creasode (i know spelling is wrong) ugh gag watching that ...as I am laughing. I said I was full the other night from dinner and don't you know DH aske me if I wanted a waffer thin mint. I wanted to deck him....ha ha ha ha

  6. gonnabethin - your post scared me! I was trying to figure out how one drink could have 1150.0 calories - but the 0.0 means something else. DUH

Bettina: Try vanilla vodka with a diet vanilla coke and a cap full of vanilla extract. (I really like vanilla) It tastes like a really vanilla delight. And if I'm feeling especially naughty I'll add a shot of vanilla rum. Cabana Boy. LOL

But I thought we were supposed to give up alcohol post banding? My surgeon was adamant about that. So was the behaviorist, matter of fact. I wonder if that's fact or if that's judgment!

Mmmmmm booze. I'm going to dream about buttery nipple shots and tequila shooters.

    Nathalie

Oh yeah Vanilla Rum...got it in the cabinet...and someone mentioned straight....you bet...when I am feeling naughty I do shots while I am mixing my drink. (I am not banded yet, just to clear it up...lol) Hubby likes Vanilla Rum Shot night...:huggie:

  7. I often wondered if I could get down and dirty with a real doll. I also saw one on Paltalk, where a guy had a female doll and she was doing a pelvic thrust. She was plugged in or something and her hips were moving up and down.

It sounds fun, but in reality...I doubt I could do it...reminds me of ..what is that called when you do it with a dead person (eewww sorry) ..oh yeah necrophelia...rather do myself...lol

but there is always "drunk and on a dare" ROFLMAO

  8. Oh my gosh - I have been away for a couple of weeks, and I came back and have seen many people who are angry, and wanting to leave. What have I missed? I wish you the best, Mandy. You have to follow your heart. Can someone please fill me in? Thanks so much.

    Rachel

I've been here and I still am not sure. I just hope its not anything I said. (not that I think I am important or anything-I just hope I didn't rub someone the wrong way)

  9. I am a firm believer of to each his own. I hope I didn't offend any Catholics with my Mom's story...that was not what it was supposed to be...just me saying I thought it was odd. And again I think Father Michael is da bomb! lol...should I tell him that if I ever run into him again? Oh did I tell you I saw Mary's drape/scarf that she supposidly wore when she gave birth to Jesus??!! It's encased in glass in a church in Rome...drats can't remember the name. Even though I am agnostic, it was still totally cool to see!!!! I wish we had old old churches here in the US like they have in Europe. Hmmm ..It just dawned on me that I was more of a believer in Europe than here. I am gonna have to think about that more.

  10. I have a problem with this post.

It sounds like an attack on the Catholic church - MY church. And I feel the need to address it..

Even though this is 3rd party info, IF this were a true story - your friend would have grounds to possibly sue the Tribunal in his Diocese - in the least, bring in the Bishop on this situation.

There's more to an annulment then an application and denial.

And yes, Ive seen MANY annulments granted to those that were married for 25 years with 4,5,6 kids. Years and kids have nothing to do with proving that a sacramental marriage never existed. Thank you.

Most of the time the roots of ignorance, stem from a lack of understanding OR knowledge. There are many good and holy priest, religious and laity in every community that give classes on apologetics, church doctrines, papal encyclicals and so forth - basically they teach why Catholics do (and believe) the things we do. This is just a FYI - incase one is interested.

If anyone is interested in discussing this, you are welcome to pm me. I will not reply to attacks.

Now, excuse me while I go pray my rosary.:biggrin1:

I don't think that was an attack, its just factual information on some policies of The Catholic Church. My mom is catholic, she has told me the same thing. Her own church would not let her get married not because my father had been prev married, it was because his first wife was prev married.....how messed up is that. My mom couldn't get married in her church beccause it was "her fault" that my protestant dad married a divorced woman??!! Please! I don't knock the catholic denomination, my uncle died and the methodist reverend wouldn't give him last rites because he was not an "active" member...hmmm no, he had cancer and was ill, couldn't attend. It was a catholic priest who gave his funeral services....what an honorable man, Father Michael, I will never forget him! I hope he is truly blessed in his life for such a random act of kindness. Even though I am agnostic, I believe blessings are important.

So there is good and bad (yin and yang) in everything.

  11. I am trying to figure out the best time to tell my daughter, age 9, about the upcoming surgery. I am scheduled for the end of September. I don't want to blindside her with the news a day ahead, but also don't want her to spend time worrying.

    When did you tell?

Hey Karen, I am getting banded the day before you. (I have been looking for others who are close to me in banding-you are the first) I told my 9 yr old daugher right away (back in April when I first started the process) She is happy for me. I even sat with her and we watched the surgery together online so she would better understand it. I have an 18 yr old daughter and a 17 yr old son, and I have learned never underestimate the knowledge and understanding of a 9 yr old. LOL she won't let me anyway! I feel I need her support and understanding just like I do of the others. Prob more so, because I am with her more. I understand you not wanting her to worry, since Rachel saw the procedure...she is cool with it. Kids are more afraid of the secrecy than they are of the truth. If you decide to tell her earlier rather than later, and you see her worrying.....just tell her about all the cool things you will be able to do with her that you don't do now. For me its I'll be taking her to the beach all the time next year...riding bikes is gonna be more fun! Oh you know, you could start by asking her what she thought if you were thinner, then go to what would she think if you had surgery to get thinner...start small. Mine I can jump right into because she has older sibs so she is a tough cookie. Good Luck and let us know if you told her earlier or later and how she took it.

  12. Faith is very important. I would never want to take faith from anyone, nor try to break their faith by logic or showing contradictions in their faith.

However, no one has the right to claim his/her faith any more valid than the next person's. If you have faith that you are on the correct path to eternal life with your God, you do not have the right to tell another person who has faith that they are on the correct path to eternal life with their God (or who worship the same God as you, but in a different way), that only your faith is true. If you want to feel it and believe it, fine. But do not put down other people's faith any more than you would want them to put your faith down. It is the "Golden Rule".

Many people say, "Money is the root of all evil". They are wrong. "The Love of Money is the root of all evil".

Many people say, "Never discuss religion". I believe they are wrong. "Never try to convince anyone that your faith is better than their faith" would be more appropriate. I have spent much of the last 7 years speaking to people in person and through forums about religion. It has caused me to listen and to go to the Bible to verify or disprove what was said. I had read the Bible cover to cover, first when 17 and then about 19 to 20. I started reading it much more while talking to people about religion.

I then read the "Holy Qur'an". It was illuminating. I am reading "Purpose Driven Life" by Rick Warren right now. I am attending church regularly for the first time in 40 years. Why? Because I got interested in religion by talking about it.

I found that many people of faith know the Bible very well.

I found that many people of faith don't know the Bible very well or at all.

I found that many people of faith take the Bible and use it for very unchristian behavior.

I found that many people of faith who claimed to be Christian only knew the "Old Testament" or at least only quoted the "Old Testament".

I found that many people of faith who claimed to be Christian never practiced the teachings of Jesus Christ, but claimed that they had a personal relationship with him.

I found that many people of faith who claimed to be Christian really acted towards other people in the way that Jesus wanted us to act towards people.

But most of all, I found that only by reading and talking could I have found these things out. I never had to put down anyone's God. I did many times question the use of their claims that only their faith was correct. I even chastised people who said that all believers of this protestant sect or all Roman Catholics or all Jews or all Muslims would go to hell for not believing in the ways of their (only true and correct) way of worshiping (their only true God).

I have had people tell me that they are not condemning those people to hell, “it is in the Bible. It is word for word in the Bible". When I look up the passage, it does not say that "word for word". When I tell them that, they say "well what that means is..." Sorry, that is an interpretation, their interpretation, not "word for word".

The Bible and/or the "Holy Qur'an" can be read as "word for word" or it can be read as stories to help you in your life and help you gain eternity. Some people call me a "Cafeteria Christian" because I don't believe in certain things in the Bible, but then when I ask them about certain passages, they say that the passage doesn't mean what it says "word for word" or that was replaced by the "New testament".

My point is that there is more than enough Bible interpretation to last for a few millennia. Faith is wonderful, except when used to put other people's faith down. I believe that was the idea behind the post that started this thread.

PS: When I used the word "you" above, it was rhetorical and not addressed to anyone.

I totally agree. And (ooops) I forgot to say that too that "you" was not pointed in any direction...it was just my way of not sounding preachy or self-important. :huggie:

  13. I am going to look into that. Right now, I am just trying to breathe in and out. My husband refuses to discuss the bypass option. He was supportive of the band.

Hi, sorry to hear your news! But don't give up that easily...They cover life threatening surgery but not a "belt" for your stomach.....um no, that makes no sense....fight it---appeal it! Give them all the info you can get about lap band vs. GP and send it to them along with your appeal letter. Do you have any co-morbities??? If you do, use them to your advantage!! My sis had GP but for her I considered it life threatening not to have it. Its totally not for me. I read that GP costs $40,000 and lap banding is $28,000 (well here in NJ anyway) ask your insurance if they pay for all the medical problems that come from being overweight!! You can totally do this!!! GO GET 'EM!!!!!! Keep your chin up and keep at them until you get your way!!!

  14. Did you hear about the new digital mammogram? Really, it was on the news tonight.

Yes, I had one!! No more squash-a-grams...yay. Gentle as can be. Now if they could just invent that for the pentulum thingy for paps...yay|!!! (i finally got my doc to warm it---threatened to use it on him...LOL

  15. Spritual people have faith that there is someone or something of a higher being that takes care of them (I don't mean like ET *snicker*) I mean something heavenly (powerful, light). I think as long as you have faith in something, then your okay. (it could even be yourself-covering all basis here) its not healthy to think that there is no brighter future. We all need a positive source without one, we might as well curl up in a ball and call it a day.

It shouldn't matter that we don't all believe in the same thing (which is totally impossible anyway) We should be happy that there are forces that make others happy too. There is no wrong belief...to say that we would be saying that one is not a person and has no validity in life.

  16. Wha?? We are supposed to talk about the Lap-band?? I'm game. Having some issues here myself. Found out today I may have a leaky port. Dammit!

I have been very interested in all the threads about TT and always check it out on Discovery Health. I'm afraid I might be headed for one and the thought scares me! I'm a chicken and those are some big scars!

Yikes how do you get a leaky one? Is it from fills? Manufacturer Defect?

Unless it becomes medically necessary for me or I win the lottery, I won't be having a TT...but you know, they are quite good at stitching...so even though they look bad in the beginning, they usually come out nice. I always said if i had to have something done i want Dr 90210 to do it, but I don't think that would ever happen I am not a glamour queen with bleach blonde hair...lol!

  17. I just got my date and I will be an official September bandster! My preop appt is this Thursday and my surgery date is 8-22-06

    Diane...you are so excited...did you mean 9/22?? LOL sorry I couldn't resist...i am the same way...I am 9/27.
