It would seem that "VI" has had a change of heart. Damn, I was kinda having fun calling her Vi. She just called to tell me that my insurance called her and told her to go ahead and order the cpap. Yay! She has been nothing but polite the last few phone conversations. Maybe the doc chewed someone out for not getting this done quickly as he requested. Ha ha I am not gonna dwell on that now, its over and done with. So the office manager ,formerly known as Vi, is faxing the request to the cpap people. Next they call me and set up an appt to come to my house...and as soon as I know what date that is, i can call Dr. O and schedule my pre-op appt and surgery...yay! :clap2:

I understand. He answered a question about a lap band procedure on another thread, and he seemed like he was belittling the person in his answer. (and the comment about being a fill guru-I thought was odd-not to say he isn't--the mannerism didn't fit with his other postings...lol) But then reading typed words that don't have emotion -can lead you to that conclusion. And I was surprised that a doctor would take the time from their schedule to answer questions --lol---that is what made me think he wasn't a doctor -just someone pretending. I wasn't trying to insult the doctor, I was just curious. I certainly don't want to get any of his patients up in arms either......lol my doc doesn't post here.....so i thought cool a real doc.....and lol then reasonable doubt started creeping in.:cry I just have to read his posts "differently", that's all.

Your being literal comes from your job....you pay close attention to detail. Is it bad...not necessarily. Everyone has different sides to themselves. Be your literal side when you aren't around her....and be Pattman ....man of ease, when you are with her. (LOL) (I am in school full time, I am a totally different person when I am at school...is that bad, no...its just a reflection of the environment i am in) You sound like a good guy-----I wish you all the best. (and thanks for sharing your story) I myself have thought about my relationship....but when its all said and done, he is the one I want to be hobbling into the grocery store with in my 80's holding hands and arguing about which type of toilet paper to buy. Even if he grows ear hair (eww lol) I'll be okay..that's what scissors are for!

I was told that my psych eval would not be covered by my insurance ..$150.00 I didn't even have a say in who it would be...to my delight, they paid all but $30....not too shabby!! For the rest of the tests, I went to approved doctors and facilities. My insurance covers lapbanding, the doc, the hosp. They may not reimburse me for the $500 nutritionist....but a friend of mine told me to keep submitting the bill...it was necessary for lapband....she said third time she submitted they paid it! yay. So after the doc submits to my insurance for lapbanding, i will submit my nutrition bills and see how it goes. Best Wishes!!

Hi, I am in the same boat......just hit 40 bmi. They are gonna weigh you, measure you, take you bmi...take a pic (ugh). I had all that done with the nutritionist though. Apparently they keep these and update the info from time to time.

Tomato soup is my all time fav...........sour cream? Parmesan cheese??? omg I have to try that!!! I usually have mine in a mug and drink it....goes good with the grilled cheese. Hmmm can I eat grilled cheese (ever) after having a band??? (i know not right away...just wondering if I have to lick it---i mean kiss it goodbye.......LOL:p

VI called me today...(4pm-when my insurance is closed) ...she informs me that she faxed the info to my insurance and that she hasn't heard from them (not even 24 hrs mind you) and she has "done all I can do"....oh yeah forgot to say what "it" was....its my paperwork so insurance can approve my sleep apnea machine. Have they heard of VI before and knows how she works??? Hmmm. Anyway..."done all you can do"...think again VI...I need the machine.:laser: :ogre <----can you guess which one is me and which one is VI????????

Catey, you just had surgery...this is perfectly normal to feel like that! Everyday you will get a little better.....a few months from now you will read your post and laugh. Remember too that anesthesia can take months to leave your system....you may not feel it, but you may not feel completely right, but you'll be just fine! Between the cutting and the pulling and putting something around your stomach...not to mention the camera and the surgical tools......this is expected to feel a little sad. Keep your chin up, you'll do great!!!

Mine has a little tiny belly but he loses it at whim, just cuts out sugar and drinks V-8...beast lost 22 lbs (which was more than he had to lose!!) Mine is afraid I will die, he prob doesn't want to raise the kids alone.....lol We have been married for a long time,I think he just doesn't want to let me go. He is all about the weight loss---he helped me lose 25 lbs by cooking strickly from the WW cookbook (back when I only had 25 to lose...boo-hoo)!

My husband does not want me to be banded either....he wouldn't even talk about it for the longest time. Finally he admitted he didn't want me to choke and die...silly man. Then I lost 6 lbs and he said "good, you don't have to be banded now" which shocked me because I didn't realize he still remembered..lol I had mine watch the webinar on the laptop of the doctor who is doing the surgery. I am not inviting him to the dr visits, however, he is getting laid off (again) on Wednesday, so if I get the appt while he is home, i will ask him to go with me. I am banding for the following reasons: 1. Health, 2. Me, 3. the kids, and 4. Him. Health is a biggie for me, and if I feel better, well then its for me. Its for the kids so that I am around for them...and for him so that he has the one he married back! He knows this, and knows that I do nothing in haste and I research everything (maybe too much even) he knows I am level headed but apparently he can't help but worry (which is reasonable!) OMG....the doc thinks i have sleep apnea...so his nurse calls me to tell me when and where to go for testing.....the doc writes stars all over my chart and writes "august surgery" on the papers. I know cause he gave me a copy. So she calls and gives me an appt 5 weeks later...hello this does not work for me...doc told me a day or two...yeah. So then she tells me getting the sleep study sooner will not get me into surgery sooner.....omg did she not hear her own words???? So I decide to look around for another place...i find that my insurance covers a place an hour north...no problem its near my school. I call her back and she tells me that she "doubts the doc will give me a referral for that place" I inform her that i am going where the insurance pays it!!!!!! So two days later she calls the place and I get in...in two weeks. So now I def have it and nurse-zilla calls me to give me the results...."wow-this is the highest number I have ever seen" okay "what does this mean?' i ask, she comes back with "I don't know" OMG shoot me now please!! She has no clue about sleep apnea....so why is this woman with RN behind her name calling me?? At the very least I expect the person calling me and giving me all this info to know WTF she is talking about! So now I have an appt where she wants me to go...I call insurance and got the tax id for them..yay its covered. I call after its said and done because the tech tells me she is rushing this because of all the stars on my chart. Yay. I call nurse-zilla and she gets pissed "it takes 2 weeks you know" Ummm yes i do and explain to her again why I need it in Aug and why the doc starred my chart. So i call the sleep apnea place directly, its on the doctors desk....my doctor!!! Yeah i call back, I get the machine. Nurse zilla calls back to tell me that the doc will come in and it takes 10 days for the transcriber to type it. Ugh okay I am at her mercy I thank her and hang up! Now mind you I starte this lap band journey back in April and have had all my pre-op testing done. I need August because today was my last day of school and I start again on 8/28 but with 6 CLASSES!! I cannot miss that many classes I will be too far behind..3 psych classes and 3 education classes!!!! The doc knew this...they all did, and all promised me august. Okay so the doc calls me last night and tells me to call the surgeon in the morning and schedule my surgery....he faxed everything over...I call today and nope, nothing. I tell the receptionist about nurse-zilla (she was not surprised) and i tell her no way can i call that office back, but i did because the surgeons fax was down..lucky for me. So i call the pulm doc and leave a message for nurse-zilla and she informs me that she didn't know i had insurance and had to call them first.......OMG shoot me....no shoot her. I have never ever had problems with any doc anywhere but now i see how this crap happens. I can't believe she is a nurse, and doesn't know anything about what she is doing...oh and she is NOT new! Oh and guess what......my sleep number is a 7, which is not so high, so why the hell did she scare me like that a month ago and I haven't slept since then (except for the Mojito night...lol) I am not for wishing ill will on people.....this woman is gonna get hers via bad karma!!!! Oh yeah and last night I slept like a rock!!! :notagree yay (except hubby said i was having a big conversation in my sleep ugh) Oh yeah since the sleep apnea I have been sleeping on the couch (well laying down anyway) for fear of keeping hubby up all night with my tossing and turning. (he is roofing right now, don't want him to fall off due to lack of sleep!)
