  1. I'm ready to beat my head against a brick wall.

I've only lost 7 pounds since the beginning of June 2010. Basically, I've lost nothing since mid July - present. I have gone down in size from 14 to 10 jeans during this time; which leads me to believe I'm losing inches.

As mentioned in previous posts, I'm a scale whore and really want to see the damn scale move. I only want these last 15-20 pounds gone.

Yes, I've changed my eating, increased excercise - I see the folks at my gym more than I see my family; still the scale isn't budging.

    Any words of advise, wisdom...?

  2. Thanks!!!

Very good advise, I've printed this out and will start gathering the things I'll need. Actually I think I'll run over to the thrift store and pickup some button down tops in the coming weeks along with some sweatpants.

I definately plan to prepare meals before hand, my DH and son will be around but they tend to think of cooking as FRYING everything and I know I wouldn't be able to stomach their cooking.

I know I have a couple months; however, I also know that it will be here before I know it.

How are things going with you? I read your blog and see that you're already back to work.

Also, don't let folks get you down. There have been a few people on this site that have sent me sailing. I actually had one person I swear was stalking me - no matter where I posted a comment she seemed to be there to make a negative comment.

I had to step away for awhile and take really deep breaths to keep from losing it.

Anyway, I'm babbling now. Again thanks!

  3. I scheduled my tt today - Dec. 22nd. Merry Christmas to me!

Now the hard part, QUIT SMOKING!

I'm going to pick a day and give up cold turkey. I'll probably be the grinch by the time this is all done but it's well worth it.

I keep telling myself, I'm healthy now - off ALL meds. To be the total picture of health I need to rid myself of this last vice.

    I CAN DO IT...

Any and all words of encouragement or advice is greatly appreciated.

  4. Hey guys I am finally granted my time off work so it is time to start preparing for my Tummy Tuck and breast lift in 8 DAYS!

Yes I know it is soon so I was hoping people can give me any tips for the aftercare, what I should do before to prepare my house etc.

Also any update pics of scars etc would be great. Thanks :smile2:

    Congratulations!!!!

I just checked out your blog, your tummy looks amazing. Can't wait for my turn. By the way, how much time are you taking off work?

    Continue to keep us posted.

  5. Congratulations!

I am at a plateau and needing a fill but I am still changing shape although my weight is not shifting according to the scale.

Interesting a few people are saying "you are not going to lose any more, are you?"

Mostly, but not all, they are fat people struggling with their weight...

I get the "you're not going to lose any more..." all the time and it's getting old. I'm planning now for a TT w/lipo and hear that after that I will possibly go down 2 sizes. Can't wait to get rid of the flab, but what in the heck will they say then - I will probably want to scream at them once that's done.

I've been at this dreaded plateau for over 2 months now and can't figure it out. I'm a scale whore (weigh myself once a day) and the blasted thing isn't moving - I'm shooting for a normal bmi and though I'm happy with my current size, it would icing on the cake to lose these last 15-20 pounds.

  6. I'd suggest discussing with surgeon. I was given clearance to resume ALL activities no limitations after 6 weeks. for several months off and on; I've participated in a bootcamp at my gym; this includes running, jumping rope, sit ups, push ups...

I will warn you that initially you will feel some discomfort around the port area; however, this will go away in time - it took about 6 months for me not to feel discomfort in port area after strenuous exercise.

Again, talk w/ your doc before proceeding.

    Much success...

  7. My insurance (BCBSMA) covers abdominoplasty (TT), I just received the letter from insurance last week approving the procedure.

I've had 4 consults, and will have another (and final) next week before making my decision on surgeons; 3 of 4 are out of the race - didn't care for the attitude of one, the other 2 need to update their website to reflect that they no longer take insurance.

It's amazing how they (PS) say what the insurance won't pay. My insurance will pay for the TT and lipectomy ("suction-assisted fat removal") - basically liposuction.< /p>

  8. I'm anal and starting buying samples of Protein shakes a month before surgery. Just wanted to make certain that I found something that I'd LOVE since I'd need to drink it for awhile.

I ended up going with unjury and a year later this is still my favorite brand. I love the chocolate and will have the strawberry sorbet to change things up a bit. The strawberry sorbet is good with Water and a little raspberry lemonade crystal light.

My suggestion is that you try a number of products as everyone has a favorite and you may very well hate what they suggest.

  9. Find something that you LOVE:wub:

I hate the whole gym thing and wasn't fond of walking... I bought an eliptical - still sitting in my family room gathering dust.

Decided I had to find something to get my butt going and decided to take swimming lessons. I've always wanted to learn and decided to give it a try. I've met great people (very encouraging) through the classes. As a result, I was lured into taking boxing with a fellow classmate and we're having a ball.

All this said, I found the key was finding something that I really enjoyed doing and have increased my activities as a result.

Something as simple as gardening is a good start.

  10. THANKS!!! It's sort of surreal... I really want to wear my pants inside out to show the size - I know that sounds crazy.

I really don't have many people to share these milestones with. My poor DH listens and is supportive, but I really don't think he gets how I really feel.

The great thing about this site is YOU get it.

    Again, thanks!

  11. I can't believe that I'm in a size 10, this is the first time in over 20 years. I'm still dealing with this damn plateau, haven't lost a pound in months; however, I've lost a pant size.

    Yes, I'm all a glow...

A year ago, I was wearing 18/20 pants and skirts and 2X tops - I'm a happy girl!

  12. Though the procedure was listed as covered, I still had some doubts and thought I'd need to jump through hoops...

PS submitted the paperwork Monday and I received the letter yesterday. I could barely sleep last time due to the excitement. I've never had a flat tummy and can't believe that for the first time in my life it's going to happen.

I'd scheduled leave for the Christmas holidays earlier in the year and believe that I'll add another week to my leave and do it then.

    I'll keep you posted.

  13. I went in for my first fill yesterday, and they did it under fluoroscopy. I got 5cc in a 14cc band, but now it seems that every time I eat, I'm nauseated for about 30 minutes afterward. Is that normal?!?! I haven't thrown up or PB'd, but I feel like I could after I eat. Has anyone else experienced that?

You didn't mention what you're eating. If you were filled yesterday, I'd suggest you stick with liquids for the first 24 hours (this is what I've been told and have done); then after 24 hours add mushies and not introduce solids until the 3rd or 4th day especially after such a significant fill.

Hang in there. As long as you can get liquids down you should be fine. Remember there's some swelling after fills and you need to give it time to heal.

    I hope this helps.

  14. Thanks!!! I'm going to see another PS Tuesday to see what she says about realistic outcome wTT only, then go from there.

By the way, I have a desk job and pretty much sit on my butt all day researching. The PS says that it won't be as bad as the hysterectomy I had, which really did me in - absolutely no energy even after 8-weeks home.

The plan is to spend more time in the gym for the next 2 months or so, get more weight off (perhaps meet my goal) focus on strenghening my core. I'm currently at the gym 4-5 days a week (swimming 2-3 days and circuit training the other days)

Ladies, you've given me LOTS to think about. I appreciate your sharing and will let you know what the next PS says.

    Wishing you continued success.
