Hi ladies!!
I have 9 days till my surgery!!
My DH doesn't approve/hates the idea/refuses to even drive me
I'm doing it anyway of course, BUT should I care about his opinion?
I mean yes, a marriage is a partnership but doesn't that mean wanting the best for each other?
I am feeling guilty for going against his wishes (not guilty enough to not go through with it tho!)
Anybody else go through this, or have any insight?

When I reached my highest weight I knew I needed to do something so I quit drinking soda and quit fast food that was 7 months ago and I lost 15 lbs just doing that, once I decided on surgery I started pre-op dieting right away b/c I need to lose 5%(15lbs). I'm down 26 lbs from highest which feels great! I have 10 days till my surgery and am sticking to my pre-op diet as best I can. I haven't had last supper syndrome, I've had enough big meals in my life, thats how I got here! I just wanna set myself up for sucess in banded life.
Just remember: Nothing tastes as good as being healthy feels!

yeah weighing everyday takes a toll on you emotionally, and I just can't take the dissapointment! once a week or even every few days at least you know where you stand and can see your progress.
weighed today -2lbs
::off to update ticker::

I know better then to do it everyday, but I wanna make sure I'm getting results!
How often do you weigh yourselves and what time ?(morning before anything, middle of the day?)

I went through a personal blockage with heels a year or so ago. I had always told myself I was too fat for heels, and I could only wear flats.
BUT I finally told myself I could wear whatever shoes I want!! So I gradually went to heels. I started with wedges (still my fave) and on to to pumps from there.
I'm 5'9 and DH is 5'11 he doesn't like me being taller but I dont give a flying f$*$ :ihih:
Rock those heels ladies!

Hi all, Im David from Cali and I was Banded June 3rd in the OC by Dr.leporte's office through LiteDimensions. I am now posting as Im just starting to feel human again as the pain and gas was wearing me out, I still havent eatin much and my Water intake isnt that great but getting better. I have droped 15 lbs post op pounds and 10 pre for a total of 25 lbs. Im happy! My goal is to drop 130 more and Im cool.I am excited about it and understand its not the magic bullet but a great tool to get me where I want to be. I have studied the Lap and Bypass for 2 years before I made a decission and for me the there was no option here. Well i hope to learn more from all of my fellow bandsters and hope to make some connections here as well, you see that Im very free and friendly too :grouphug:
Best of luck! I'll be banded on 6/24. I'm in San Diego!

good luck Vanity. You won't regret it.I'm twice your age and wish I could have done it sooner.
Just remember it's a TOOL AND USE IT WISELY...
I sleep better not worrying about how I'm going to manage my day of eating...feel better...making wiser choices and just love everyday when I get up!
AMAZING....
Thanks for the advice svelt!

IMO.... he's insecure that you're leaving him behind. When two people are chunky together... and eating together is usually a common bond, there is a comfort there. You are leaving the pack and now he will still be the chunky one, and you're gonna be the skinny one. And..... there is a lot of insecuritites that once you get thin, you may move on. Not saying you will, but it definitely is something that goes on in their mind. But I think it's more of you leaving the 'club'..
yeah I totally understand this, I have been trying to overcome it by bringing up the positive points that will effect him (dirty things of course) > and giving him lots of love and attention so he knows my love and my thoughts are with him-not on getting skinny and leaving!
At the same time, life post op is gonna be hard if he doesn't change his eating habits as well. He's working on it though.

stupid fiances and husbands, see my hubbys bigger then me so I dont get it, he knows what it is to be obese and I think he should be happy and supportive!

So I've found my fave exercise and I don't have to leave home!
I don't know how many people get FitTV but there is a bellydancing show called Shimmy
Its really fun and with a half hour run time its a good way to ease into exercising.
Of course if your not into dancing--not for you.
Anyway, I thought I'd share what I'm into right now

I am having surgery in less than two weeks.
Oooh, when is your sugery?
Oh and apparently my husband has been telling people >.>
He's not happy about it so I guess this is his way of getting back at me
(I put a stop to it tho)

Shaun,
Thats what I'm going to do. I've told those that know not to spread it around, but we'll see how that goes
In the mean time, I'm just trying to survive my pre-op diet
Thanks for everyones responses!

I'm so glad to hear that!! ::whew::
Nothing like getting work done to make ya feel good right?

lol I thought of getting one to decorate the surgery scars  like stitches or something  (or maybe an X to mark the fill spot)

NSVs I'm looking forward too:
- Not needing a belt extension on a plane
- Not having to search for the weight capacity of chairs and exercise equipment
- being able to wear cute bras! (like the little balconettes)
- Going to amusement parks and being able to RIDE the rides!!
- Not feeling like I can't go to the cool clubs because even though I'd kill everyone with my style, it wouldn't count since I weigh more then 3 of them put together.
- as posted on one of the first pages: seeing my va-jay-jay! and NOT through the mirror
- Not feeling like Shrek (like an ogre walking through town and everyone is staring at you)
- and I am so EFFING tired of hearing: YOU HAVE SUCH A PRETTY FACE.
I'm sure theres more, Can't wait to check things off that list

All of you are in my thoughts!!

stick too it, we have faith in you!! I am 19 days away and getting ready to really diet it up, my surgeon doesn't require a liquid diet, BUT I do have to lose 5% of my weight before surgery!
NO DQ!!!

Thanks Ladies
If he would discuss it I'm sure I could make some ground, but he shuts down what the topic comes up.
He is a big man and he knows what it is to be obese, I'm tryin my darndest to make sure we stay strong as ever, but its hard trying to talk to a rock!
