hey welcome, just an FYI for you guys from SD, we have a local support group that meets once a month. click on my profile and youll find it in my groups. You're welcome to join us.

During the planning stages and even right after surgery I only had a handfull of family and friends that knew. I know who I want to tell and who I don't.

I started school and told the whole class, it feels good to not have to hide anything.

There are still people I don't want to know, and they dont need to know so they wont. :sad:

Who cares what other people think, this is for you and only you.

I don't need to explain to people how I lost this weight, they can kiss my rapidly decreasing butt!

Dr. Ortiz is awesome! both my mom and I were banded by him. Carolyn was my patient care coordinator. They'll help you out.

Call Dr. Ortiz or the OCC front desk, they are all very willing to help and can probably help you figure out what it is. I'm willing to bet it isn't food stuck in there.

How are things?

I have a non weight triumph for today!!

Took the kids to the beach and for the first time I wasn’t terrified to walk around w/out my shorts.

I took them off after getting there and never put them back on. I even got sunburned on my legs. :wink2:

I was in the Water so much, it was great. I was out playing with the kids instead of just sitting there watching them.

Do we have a meeting place yet?

After leaving I called my doc and have an appt. sent for 16th.

I was told that my last visit was in Nov. of 2007.

I feel renewed to have people to talk to not only one line but in person.

I was looking on-line w/googleearth.com and found libraries to be our best bet.

There is one in the Mission Valley area near the stadium (next door to Ikea) if we'd like to start there?

Erick I don't know exactly- BUT I'm having surgery by Dr Ortiz on wednesday, so I can get back to you!

You can always e-mail your patient coordinator- Carolyn is very good at responding to her emails.

Can I just say though, that you can't make her understand what shes getting herself into. Be supportive by just being supportive-help her stay strong through her pre-op dieting, if she has a question help her find the answer on here.

What shes getting herself into is a road to a happier, healthier life! Of course theres trials and tribulations along the way but that makes victory all the more sweeter.

Good Luck, and I'll keep you posted about the aftercare and postop dieting.
