  1. Well I actually thougth the outside incision was my port but when I went in to see my nutritionist she said it was the incision next to it. I felt silly since I had been telling everyone to "feel my port" and it wasn't even the right spot:blush:. So I know its not the port site. I did call the doctor to ask what I can take for occation pain and they said I could take tylenol or motrin. I took one today (cut it in half). So far so good. I just got back from the gym so in an hour or two might be a good judge of how sore its gonna be after a workout.

    Any Brand Suggestions for Elliptical??

I don't own one but the gym I go to has about 8 different kinds. I have tried all of them and some I hate and one I love. My advice it to try it out. If you are going to spend that kind of money you need to be real sure you like the one you get. All the ones at the gym are very nice and very expensive but I wouldn't give a dime for some of them.

    June 2009 Surgery

Hey Ya'll! I am 15 days post op and I'm feeling great! I have been released from my doctor for regular duty. I went to the gym and had a great workout today. Felt great. I'm eating small meals and drinking my protein shakes. So far so good. I'm down around 21 lbs and my energy level is high. People are starting to notice. This is one of the great prizes folks. Feeling great, high energy, getting positive feed back. I wish this for all my June bandster buddies.

    Texarkana Bandsters

Went to see Ms. Betty May yesterday for my 2 week post op appointment. I was so glad to get those darn tape sutures off. Anyway she told me to drink warm liquid first thing in the morning. No problem coffee it is. Well I had the bright idea to add a scoop of choc. protein powder to it and make a cafe mocha. Got my warm drink and a jump start on my protein intake for the day. Very proud of me and my delicious mug of joe in front of me.:bored:

Well to day I put a scoop of my chocolate protein mix in with it and made cafe mocha. I've got my fluids and a start on my protein today. I'm very happy with me and my hot cup of joe right now. YUM!!:bored:

I only had to wait 48 hours before I could shower. Felt great too!!
  12. Today (9 days post op) I feel stronger and more ready to resume regular activities than any other time I have tried . I have been getting lots or rest. I am getting very tired of liquids only though. I'm wondering if that maybe the cause of low enerygy levels. I may ease into mushies a few days before my doctor visit just so I can really get my stamina back.
  13. I was banded on June 10, 2009 and weighed 209 lbs. I now weigh on June 17, 206 lbs.
  14. That is so funny!! I'm gonna have to use that!
  15. I can't feel mine. Just soreness.
  16. Hey I was banded two days before you. I found when I walk while I'm drinking my broth or slimfast it goes down better. Burping is not happening right now. Pray it comes out the other end! Everyday gets a little better. Hold on.
  17. Thanks for posting. Its good to hear from folks who have been there. Right now the pressure and soreness i feel seems like it will never go away. Patients is a new concept for me to learn. )
  18. Gob Bless the UK health care system. I recently wathced the Movie Sicko by Michael Moore. The it talked about health care around the world. It really sounds like the UK is one country who really has it figured out. I wasn't forced to go back to work I just felt like I should. Didn't want to let down the good folks who are covering for me right now. the emotional process is just as important as the physical one.
  19. Well I over did it. I thought I was ready to go back to light duty at work today. Took a shower, got dressed, put on make-up and was ready to tackle my day. I get to work and everyone wants to hug me and ask me how I was doing (I'm loved). Talking to everyone really wiped me out. I was exhausted. I was only there and hour before I felt clammy and dizzy. I decided to go home before I got nausious. I've slept all day since. Note to everyone, take it easy. Give yourself the time you need to mend. There is more to going back to work than work. I'm going to take my time before I go back. I deserve it.
  20. I did too much today! I thought I was ready to go back to work, I wasn't. I was there for about an hour and I was clammy, hot, and starting to feel dizzy. I haven't been nausous in this process so I left work before I did. I came home and knocked myself out with anti-nausia med. and slept til now. Note to self, take you time and don't go back to soon. This was major surgery and you deserve to have the time to heal.
  21. I'm a June 10 bander myself. I agree with all of you. I know its sore. I have found when I drink my broth or slimfast if I walk when I do it it seems to go down better. Plus walking really helps with the gas.
  22. Hi Everyone!! Day 4 of post op. Day two was the worst so far. Very sore. Today I got to have thicker liquids like slimfast and v8 juice. My energy level is better and I'm not nearly as sore. Thanks God I have a wonderful supportive woman who takes amazing care of me. Not sure how anyone could do something like this alone. Moving at all with insision marks on you belly is tough. Having someone who loves you help you to do everything from pulling up your panties to giving you nurishment really affermes your love and committment to each other. I expect tomorrow to go even more smoothly. I am finally thinking about eating something. Firtst three days I only drank something because I had to. Now I want to. That's got to be good news.
  23. It's so nice to have it over with! I'm with you. I am 4 days post op. The gas and the port site was kinda hard to deal with, as long as I took my pain meds and rested I was in good shape. I started on slimfast today. Broth and water before that. Now I'm going to be getting some calories and maybe really getting my energy up. I'm very proud of us.

    June 2009 Surgery

Hello everyone! I am 4 days post op. The second day was the worst. Whatever they gave me during the surgery to numb my belly wore off and the soreness really started to sink in. Today was good because I got to start on slimfast and have coffee!! First three days was just water and broth. Which sounds bad but I really didn't want anything heavier. So far the gas has been my worst problem. I take my little gas stripes regularly. I also found out that when I drink anything I stand up and walk around. Seems to go down better. Luckily I have not been nausious once. I've had lost of sleep and loving support. So far its been really good. No suprises.
