  1. Michael--Welcome to the thread!!! Way to go on your loss! You should be very proud! Amy--glad your lil fill got you to a good place! Keeping my fingers crossed that it holds steady! Denise-- LOLing at the a$$ gasket, but sorry to hear you got stuck at the meeting. Awesome that no one noticed. Palm Springs? You lucky dog!!! I would have soooo loved to have seen a clip of the karaoke night. Karaoke is tons of fun--especially when you're drunk! That's the only way I do it because my sister gives me crap about 'singing for real' when we go out, so I just stopped doing it until I get so drunk that it sounds like my tongue is tied to my freaking cheek LOL HB--Wooohooo! Look at you in those lil jeans! Congrats! Bob--congrats on your NSV too! The towel thing is one of the best feelings! It's the little things LOL Leigha--love the pic of you. You look like such a runner ! You continue to look AMAZING!!! Betsy--haven't seen a recent update from you. Everything okay in your world? How's Mark doing? I see your Bugg updates on FB. You are burning some SERIOUS calories, chica! Bobbie--haven't "seen" you around either. How's the new job? Hope you're still loving it! Dottie--I'm glad the scale is moving again for you! 25 lbs to go? Woohooo!!!!!! Look at you, still working it even with being restricted with your knees. You should be very proud of yourself, girl! Please don't apologize for whining. I'm stuck at 165, 15 away from my first goal, 20-25 away from my 'secret' goal and all I can do is obsess and get pissed about the "gain 2 lose 1" cycle. It will happen, your body is just getting so close to where it needs to be it's giving you a little reality check. Believe me, your persistence and hard work will pay off. Unfortunately, the final stretch is just the longest is all. I hope you are recovering well. Take a pic of that puzzle when you're done! Christie--how was your 'boyless' weekend? Do anything fun (not that weeding in the oppressive heat isn't LOL)? I bet you miss him though and you're ready for him to come home tomorrow. Things are okay here, can't complain. I did fail my PMP exam on Friday, but it's cool. I'm actually very proud of myself. You need to be proficient in 5 out of 6 domains to pass and I was proficient in 4 out of 6, so I came really close. Oh well, planning for getting back on the horse already. No sense in dwelling on the past. Time to turn it around make some lemonade! Have a wedding this weekend in Cape May and I have gotten into a "new" old dress that has been sitting in my closet just waiting to be worn for 6 months. Fully beaded, sequins galore and a size LARGE!! Holy crap! I am so excited to wear it! Hope everyone is doing well!
  2. Down 1 this week to 165. I have been up and down from 164-166, so I guess I need to move my a$$ this week. It's really starting to slow down now, but what the heck do I have to complain about? 66 lbs isn't too shabby LOL Hope everyone else is doing well!
  3. SO glad to hear that you were able to get this resolved (for now)! Crossing my fingers there is no leak and this magic 7 ccs is the level you need to be at to get to goal! Restriction is SUCH a beautiful thing!! My God, for the first time (dare I say) I HAVE IT TOO :-)!!!!
  4. Oh believe me you will know it when you get there It is also known as the "green zone"--where you are truly full on a 6 ounce portion of food, you stay full for a minimum of 4 hours and you're not ready to eat your own pets or children during that time.....it's a beautiful thing! I'm sitting here at 3:30 making myself heat up my lunch (after having Breakfast at 10:30) because I need to get my Protein in! All the times I was starving in between meals makes this point in my band journey totally worth it !
  5. Booo--same as last week (although I was 2 lbs less YESTERDAY!!!) WTH?
  6. HELL YES IT COUNTS!! WOOHOOO! I know I'll never see a size 6 in my life-----I'm here content with my 12's and the prospect of getting into 10s for my goal. How AMAZING to be a size 6!! GOOD FOR YOU! YES it counts!!!!
  7. I either do Hip Hop Abs or a Jillian Michaels workout DVD. If I don't get a chance to do that, I will go OnDemand (Comcast) and do the 1 or 2-mile walk for weightloss. It's awesome because it's a brisk power walk with other moves included, so it burns more calories than a standard walk outside.
  8. Wow, I didn't even know there was another local doctor to me! I'm over in Maple Shade and went to Goldstein in Voorhees (love him nevertheless, but very cool there is another local doc out there that does bands because I heard Kipnis relocated close to NYC!) Warrior--I too didn't have a choice, as my doc only does the Allergan LapBand. He uses 10 and 14 ccs (got the smaller one, which I'm sure he chose for a reason LOL) I'm kind of glad I got the smaller one because I just had my 4th fill 2 weeks ago making it over half full and I've just now hit my sweet spot LOL! Good luck to you!
  9. That's so wonderful! Congrats!!! Believe me, I was in your shoes once and thought every number that was a dream come true was the lowest I'd go, but the miracle continues when you follow the program (which it looks like you're doing), so get ready for Onederland, kiddo!!! You aren't that far off :-)! Congrats again!
  10. Hey there. Just throwing my two cents in there in with the mix. You made one not so good choice. You probably know it wasn't the best one to make, which is why you posted. Don't beat yourself up and don't feel guilty. We are ALL human and while many on here are model bandsters, many others have "sinned" here or there, but I truly believe moderation is key. If we denied ourselves constantly, I don't know about you, but I would freaking go out and binge. I'm not saying that it's something to go out and do once a week, which you already know, but chalk it up to your past and move on. There will certainly be more obstacles thrown your way. What some of us tend to forget, it's not "snap, wake up--this is how life is gonna be from here on out"--it's a journey. You find what works for you and what doesn't. You make the best choices possible for YOU and take responsibility for them (which you are doing). Take it easy on yourself, it's okay. And for the record, when TOM is near (I know this doesn't apply to you), I have my ice cream (it may be skinny cow, but whatever!) LOL You will learn that a small treat every so often isn't so bad. Again, not saying every day (so don't be flaming me people LOL), but again moderation is key. I consider myself successful at this point and I practice moderation and exercise my butt off, so I deserve a treat every now and then. I know you've come here for support and while some don't seem to come across that way to you, everyone is looking out for you being a new bandster and all. It sucks to start out with bad habits, but from your post, it looks like it was an act of desperation to grab some calories and protein and you didn't have a lot of choices available. I agree with a previous poster though, the Muscle Milk LIGHT is awesome!!! An 8.5 ounce "juice box" size is 100 calories, 3 g of fat and 15 grams of protein!! There is also a 16 ounce one that is 20+ grams of protein and 160 calories. I order mine at Discount Anabolics and get the 24 pack of the 8.5 ouncers and keep a stash everywhere just in case I run into a situation where I have limited choices available :-) Hang in there. And FUHGEDDABOUTIT :-)!!!!!! Start each day as a new day :-)! Live and learn!!
  11. Leanne--I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. My thoughts are with you. Leigha--congrats on breaking that plateau--141 is my freaking DREAM!!! Go you!!! HB--I'm so sorry to hear that you're too tight. If you are having issues getting a shake down, I'd agree maybe an unfill would be best, especially since you're feeling so weak. Please keep us posted!! Amy--I'm so sorry you lost your before pics! Did your doc's office take any? Like 1 or 2? I can't imagine how you feel. That's the one time that I would be SEARCHING for chubby pics LOL Stacie--congrats on Onederland!! Believe me, my girls were about a 46DD and I'm now at a 38D and can shop Victoria's Secret, so sometimes we get lucky! Hoping this is the case for you!! Betsy--how's it going? Bobbie--New job still going well? Denise--BP check--how goes it? So, I am driving myself nuts right now. I weighed in at 164 on Sunday morning and I get up this morning, 2 days later after burning almost 3,000 calories (and taking in 1370) and I am up to 166 again. ?????? Honestly, I didn't make the best choices during the bbq smorgasboard, but I was still under my calories and WAY over my burn target, so what gives? I'm so bummed. My BB weigh in is tomorrow and I can't bear to put that I am the same as last week. I have exceeded all my freaking targets and have worked out every single day!! I don't even eat the full 1450 calories it tells me too because that just sounds too high. HELP! Anyway, been going through a tough time these past couple of days --my hubby is so miserable (job related) and it's trickling over here to home. I barely see him, but when I do, he's battling with me constantly about stupid crap. I feel like a freaking dog whose owner comes home after a long, hard day to get a swift kick. Grrrrr......always some kind of drama. So here I am trying to manage all this stress and somehow trying to focus on studying for my PMP (Project Management Professional) exam. 4 hours, 200 questions, like the CPA exam, but for Project Managers. SCARY test that cost my company $400 for me to take (and an additional $250 for each time I need to retest). One dude that was in my PM classes already failed and he has been a PM for about 15 years now. SCARED!!!! Anyway, my test is THIS FRIDAY and I'm starting to freak out a bit because I'm running out of time and this $hit still reads like Chinese trigonometry to me!!! Anyway, hope you all had a great Holiday weekend! They played the most beautiful rendition of "America the Beautiful" on Sunday at church and all I could do was cry thinking of my brother who is back in Afghanistan while I am enjoying my freedom and worried about gaining 2 lbs back in a day.....puts it a bit into perspective I guess. Sorry for the rambling, guys!
  12. Woohoo! Congrats! I must admit I was at first wondering what all the fuss was about. Now that I've had mine for about 2 weeks (and blasted through a 9-week plateau), I am a believer and a LOVER of the BB!!! My sister even bought one (and she doesn't really have any weight to lose LOL) Enjoy!!!!
  13. Great post! I have gotten rid of: --Antidepressants (came off about a month ago and so far, so good-knock on wood!) -- Regular reflux -- Awful self esteem -- Shopping in the plus section -- Friends that weren't real friends -- My sloppy boobs (much to my husband's chagrin)
  14. Banded 7 months and no problems whatsoever than the occasional PBing due to ME being a bonehead Lost 48 lbs post-op (the rest of the total on my ticker was pre-op)
  15. Oh Anne, I am SO sorry!! I can't imagine how upset you must be! As Crystl mentioned, why the heck didn't they fix the hernia while they had you open to avoid another surgery? I don't understand why they can't band you after it's fixed--I've read many posts about people who had to have the repair done then the band (and some that have had them both done at once). Any way to get a second opinion on that or is this a special circumstance, like the position of the hernia, size, etc.? You have already been living like a bandster and losing like a bandster and you're almost in Onederland (if not already!) Honestly, look at all you've accomplished! I could see getting the band if you were pushing 300 lbs, but you are approaching the 100's, girl! You can do this and BAND or NO BAND, we are all here for you!!!! I would honestly continue on your path for another month or two and see where you are. I honestly don't see you needing to go through such a risky and permanent procedure when you are under 200 lbs (but then again, that's just my humble opinion ). We are here for you! And you will be in my prayers as you continue to weigh your options (no pun intended). xo
  16. Holy wow! I have been kind of out of pocket since last week (took a couple of days off to hang out with the kids, do doc appts, get the house in order, etc.), so I am just catching up now, so here goes.... Bobbie--you are just too sweet! No matter how long I'm gone I think of everyone here often too and how much the support I get here means. I honestly don't think I would have had much success without it. I'm so glad you're loving the new job and everyone's so great. You were due for it :-)!!!! Shamma---My GOD, girl! You look wonderful (not only on the outside!) You have a happiness, a glow coming from the inside that just takes over your outside!! I'm so happy for you! Crystl--91 lbs!!! YAAAAY on the scale victory! And AWESOME NSV as well! Hubbies aren't the most sensitive creatures (but they *do* notice). Easy to be miffed, but I know you're just on top of the world with all the success you're having! You have done an AMAZING job!!! Glad that .1 cc was just what you needed! Leigha--I'm so glad everything worked out with the tenant. I can't imagine the feeling you had inside walking over with those papers (and the relief you felt after you got the reaction you did). SO glad for you! Your garden looks gorgeous! LOVE the hydrangeas! Stacie--welcome back! You were missed! Anne---YAAAAY on getting the letter! I am sure you are feeling the reality of everything (OMG, tomorrow is the day, isn't it????) SO excited for you. And don't worry about the stinking scale. You will be in Onederland before you know it! I will be thinking of you!!!!! Jacki--- I hear you about being careful what you wish for with this thing. It's been 7 months that I've been eating whatever the heck I want without incident and BAM! NOW I get what everyone is talking about! How is your fill doing for you now? Betsy--how is the restriction? Are you borderline sweet spot or sneaking up on it? I've been wondering how it is going because I know you were so close. Denise--how are you feeling girl? So, NSV---I was out shopping with my daughter and Old Navy was having a bathing suit sale (gasp). We have a pool and my last swimsuit was a 22/24, so I knew I needed something to wear this year in the pool and they were having a $19 sale, so I grabbed an XL off the rack along with the million other items my 4 year-old got me for (LOL) and off we went. I got home to try it on and IT WAS TOO BIG!!! HOLY CRAP! I have NEVER been a Large anything!!!!!! So, imagine my happiness when I went back to the store and told the clerk, "I just want to exchange this for a SMALLER size." :-) :-) :-) Of course, they didn't have the sexy black one in a L, but I got the same style in brown and the fact that it wasn't in the color I preferred didn't upset me too much because the smaller size SOOOOO won over that disappointment! And my HUGE announcement.......I HAVE RESTRICTION!!! Dare I say, I'M AT MY SWEET SPOT!!!!! That .4 ccs I got on Thursday has already kicked in (which is weird because it usually takes much longer) and I get it! I mean, the "I better not take one more bite" feeling! The chest feeling! The possibility that I might not be able to finish something feeling!!! After 7 months of waiting for it, it's here!!!!! PRAISE THE LORD!! LOL Hope everyone is doing well! So excited for the long weekend coming up. I miss being home with my kiddos already!!!!!
  17. OMG Leigha--how are you holding up? I can't even imagine, girl! We rent out another house too and luckily my mom is in there now, which isn't always the best scenario, but at least I know I am going to get my rent. I'm so sorry you have to de" with this. TRULY every landlord's nightmare. Please let me know how you managed today. I'm thinking of you. What are we all in sympathy stress mode or something? I was up half the night last night too! The up side is that I got to see the replay of Oprah and caught my man Bret Michaels on lol. Guess I was worried about today. I think this fill may be the one. I won't be able to tell for sure until Sunday when I go to soft foods (liquids until then blech). Mammo results are NORMAL!!! Yeah I'm okay! Thanks for all your positive thoughts and prayers! Deep down I knew I was okay but there is always that part of me that says, "you never think it will happen to you".
  18. Checking in everyone. Went for a fill this morning and asked the doc to check out my pouch, since it was under fluoro. He said everything is fine and said I could stand a tiny tweak, so he ended up giving me about .4 ccs. Hopefully this is the one! We'll see! I'm on the way to the other hospital now to get the additional mammo done as a follow up to what they found two weeks ago. Prayers, guys! I'll follow up when I get home later (and need to catch up on everyone again LOL). --K xo
  19. Awesome! So thrilled for you!
  20. My skin came yesterday and I absolutely LOVE it! Can't wait for my pink armband to get here, because it will set it off beautifully  Very easy to put on and it's so "me" to jazz up any device I own LOL
