banded, banding, bands--verb--To assemble or unite in a group
Gosh, it really stinks that the one place we all go to for support has to be tarnished with some negative nellies. So kind of NSV, I went to support group last night and of course did a weigh in since it's been awhile. Ahh, how I missed that beloved Tanita scale...NOT!! Anyway, my fat percentage is in NORMAL range! That little item "fat to lose" that once was 90 lbs was 6!!!! 6 lbs of fat to lose! I thought there was a number missing! I guess I may not be losing the weight as fast as I used to, but it's reconfiguring the right way! 6 lbs of fat left to lose?!? Doesn't seem possible when I have 20 left until goal, but I'll take it LOL! (I am sure 10 of it is extra freaking skin though LOL) Just wanted to share!

banded, banding, bands--verb--To assemble or unite in a group
Holy $hit, Leigha! I'm with Bob-- forget about those 8 lbs! I honestly don't know where they will come from. You are SKINNY! OMG, I actually have tears in my eyes looking at you! You've been so much inspiration to us over these last few months and to see such results on someone who deserves it so much is SO wonderful to see (oh and btw your hubby is a hottie too )! So, I have been in and out with my kids (dental appointments, gigs and stuff), so I missed all the freaking drama with the 'newborns' and the clique crap. Ummm, honestly, tone can always be a huge issue anyway. But since day 1 I have just known Bob to be witty and a geniune smart ass like me (and I mean that in the most loving way honey ), so I have never thought him rude. Oh wait, I must be just sticking up for someone in my clique. Don't they realize we're ALL in the same clique? We have a piece of plastic around our stomach to eat less, umm I'd say we're a group of 'different' people! Whatev. Let the haters hate. The ones that are truly successful are the ones that at all cost suffer and follow the rules in the beginning. Add up all the weight lost in our little 'clique'--speaks volumes. So in this case, I'm thrilled to be part of a clique. I couldn't ask for a better group of people to be grouped with! (Oh and for the record, I can eat a whole 6'' Subway turkey and cheese on a whole grain roll with mustard and my doctor said it is fine! It's slow going, but I do it every now and then if I'm out and about and need a healthier choice in the junk food mecca that is the mall food court LOL) Bob- you're a smart ass, but you're OUR smart ass--we've got your back, brotha! HB--how are you feeling? I'm sorry you had trouble eating yesterday. I never realized how much trouble elevation level could cause. Luckily, my travel schedule for work has fallen off since banded, but dear Lord, this doesn't excite me thinking about it when it does happen. Please post an update and let us know how you're feeling today! Shammah--Love "Phil"! I'll also be happy to lend you my doc any time! He's AWESOME! I'm contemplating calling today to cancel my fill on Thursday because I am thinking now that I don't need one (but you get charged $100 if you cancel within 72 hours). Don't know what to do! Christie--you have every right to whine (and it really isn't whining)! You've had a really hard time and you've been amazing through it all! I just hope Steve cuts you some slack so you can tighten him a little bit and get you back on the awesome road you started on! Love the new pic! You can sooooo see that difference! Way to go!!! I actually made my first public puking debut on Friday night. We were at my niece's championship softball game and I was starving--literally drove there right after getting off the train from a LONG day at work, so I ran to the snack bar with my kiddies (and the only thing I felt I could 'get away' with, the mini tacos, would be 7 minutes and I didn't want to miss my niece's first at bat and I was STARVING!) Of course, I'm all, nothing bothers me EVER, so I figured I'd treat myself to a soft pretzel. Thought I'd eat half, give the other half to my daughter and BAM! FORGOT I needed to space a little while between swallows, especially with something like a freaking pretzel, but it was too late. So I sit there waiting, thinking I'll just slime (it's happened before, no biggie), and it just kept filling my mouth until I looked like Violet from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory so I booked over to a lonely FAR field with woods and just let it go. I waited and sure enough. It all came up. I felt SO much better though. And thank God I was able to crawl into the woods so no one saw me yacking my guts up!!!!

hanging belly going away with dropping lbs????
LOL to Bob's point, you at 25 have a much better chance than an old fart like me (37). I've lost 100 lbs in the past before getting preggers with my first, then had another one and my weight before starting the program for the Lap Band was 240-241 ish. I notice that a lot of ab exercises I do has helped considerably, but gravity is taking over and I do have an 'overhang'. Funny thing is, it only really bothers me when I'm...ummm...naked and laying on my side. My hubby said it doesn't bother him at all, I'm too self conscious, I think it's worse than what's actually there, blah blah blah (LOL), but I'm thinking at some point (in a year or two, of getting a tummy tuck). Honestly though, it sounds funny, but Hip Hop Abs really has made a marked difference in my torso area and I have definition--holy cow I can see ribs too LOL! Good luck! At 25, I think your elasticity is still strong enough where you will see good results when you get to goal :-)

banded, banding, bands--verb--To assemble or unite in a group
I think my surgeon's assistant thinks I'm addicted to fills. My band is over 1/2 full and I have never been full on 8 oz of food, nor have I ever had to eat eraser sized bites. Maybe I'm just a freak...

banded, banding, bands--verb--To assemble or unite in a group
Well next week I am lol! This will be my 5th and I am also not sure if I need one or not. Thank GOD for fluoro! I think I am pretty close, but I should not be able to eat as much crap as I've been these past couple of days. My meals aren't lasting 4 hours anymore either so maybe a teeny tiny tweak is in order. Do you have your fills under fluoro? I'm LOLing @ Goldilocks!

Omg, Crystl congrats on your successful year as a bandster! You are truly an inspiration and a success story for those on the fence about being banded! Christie- I'm so glad you're okay! You have seriously been through it girl! I hope and pray the worst is behind you! Wow, Denise. Everyone okay out there? I'm with Butters--holy crap lol

Exercise Goals #2
Well I am slllow to start this week. Yesterday and today were over 100 degrees and it's supposed to be that way tomorrow too. Thank GOD I have a pool or I would be reporting NO exercise the past 2 days. I swam for 2 hours yesterday and two hours today. I actually challenged my kids to some doggie paddle races so I KNOW I burned some calories. My bbugg is telling me I'm making my calorie burn targets too (I guess because I'm cleaning a lot here in the house). I am kind of upset with myself--I've really fallen off the wagon these past 2 days. We had a party on Sunday and while I barely ate, I sure drank some calories (and had a few smirnoffs, which are carbonated--something I NEVER do). I was so mad at myself the following day instead of going back to basics, what did I do? Started grazing on crap! It's weird-all of a sudden I have no restriction! Praying I didn't do anything to my band by having those 3 or 4 drinks. Ugh, I am soooo disappointed in myself. I am THIS close to goal and here I go letting up :-( Tomorrow is a new day they say, so I am going to really try to make my good choices and steer clear of the crap!

Shammah- my heart goes out to you. I remember all too well not having great restriction and having to rely solely on will power. That fill should have been your reward for working so hard sister! I don't blame you for contemplating finding another doc that has a more aggressive approach will fills! Bobbie--prayers are with you. I am so sorry you are going through yet another bout of hard times. Your positive attitude just amazes me. Christie- leave it to you to put a humorous spin on your hard time. I couldn't help but chuckle. How are you feeling today? Elfie--I hear you. We're supposed to hit 105 in NJ today. The kids are bugging me to go in the pool, but I am still burned from yesterday. Going to bite the bullet soon and go in I suppose.... Stacie- sorry to hear you had a 'bad' eating/drinking Holiday. Me too!!! I selfishly came over for some support myself because I have been eating crap for the past 2 days--chips, pretzels, ice cream... On the 4th, I actually had 2 smirnoff twisteds (and I haven't had carbonation in a YEAR)! For some reason, I CAN eat all this crap and I don't get full on anything lately! I was thinking of canceling my fill next week, but I'm definitely thinking I need it. So bummed and disappointed in myself. I have followed everything to the t until this past weekend. I need to get my $hit together!!

Your interpretation of a perfect LapBand eating day
Breakfast: Breakstone's Cottage cheese Doubles and a Kashi Fruit & Grain bar Lunch: Grilled chicken, green Beans, 1 starch Preworkout: banana, light cheese stick Dinner: Chicken breast w/ tossed salad Depending on what time I workout, I may have a muscle milk after for the Protein. Total for the day ends up at about 1100 to 1200 calories. Allergic to seafood, so my protein is a bit boring lol

Denise-- LOVE the rings! And girl, I'd KILL to weigh what you do. You are a true inspiration! One of the 'normal' ones to look up to LOL Stacie--SO glad everything checked out okay and sorry to hear about the HB, but thank GOD nothing was wrong with the band. I'm sure you breathed a heavy sigh of relief (I'm breathing one for you too!) Jacki--WOW! Congrats on your loss! You SHOULD feel a sense of accomplishment! Holy wow--I'm so proud of you and CONGRATS on making that 4th of July challenge goal! I have been thinking about the C25K too, but my issue is...I have little ones (4 and 6) and a hubby that works CONSTANTLY, so I don't know when I'd have the time. It's hard enough forcing them to stay out of my hair while I do a DVD workout. Lots of times I find myself waking up at like 5:30 to get a workout in before they wake up. Maybe I could do that. But GOD I am SO not a morning person and I LOVE my sleep! LOL I'm so glad to hear about the iPhone 4! I am really excited to get it! There was an ADORABLE Juicy Couture case I saw on the Apple site, and OF COURSE it was for the 3G :-( Oh well, guess I have to wait for the cool accessories. My HUGE concern is that I have had Verizon for about 10 years and I LOVE the service (no dropped calls or issues with anything, love the customer service too) and I've heard very mixed things about AT&T not to mention now they are saying that Verizon is going to get the iPhone in January. Ugh. Oh well, I'm too much of a brat to wait (I waited this long), but if you have any good thoughts on AT&T to ease my mind about switching service, I'd LOVE to hear them! So, ordered my new DVDs today after thinking it over for about a week. I love the beachbody stuff and have been loving the TurboJam workouts. Well of course, lo and behold now there is a TurboFIRE program that takes it to the next level. TurboFire® Workout - Turbo Fire Reviews - TurboFire: Chalene Johnson's High Intensity Workout - Fitness, Nutrition, Diet, Weight Loss Official Web site It looks similar to insanity, so this should be interesting. I really want to push myself a little more and this looks like just the thing to give me a good hard kick in the as$ LOL Hope everyone has a terrific 4th. We are having a bash on Sunday. Pool is ready and I may even save some calories for a nice bottle of blush LOL.

4th of July Challenge!
Ugh. Down 1 more this week for a total of 7. I have lost 7 lbs since 5/17. WOWZA! I've been working out like a fiend. I guess realistically at this point I shouldn't expect to lose 2 to 3 lbs per week like I have been. It's been pretty much one per week. Hoping this fill on 7/15 will do the trick and get me to goal (12 lbs away from my first goal, 22 from my "ideal"). Thanks guys for all being here. Like Jacki, I don't know what I'd do without you all! I am SO in for the Labor Day Challenge.

What Happens When You Reach Your Goal
You couldn't be more right, adagray! I'm 13 lbs away from goal and I feel like I've been saying that for ages! The sad thing is, it's really my first goal (I'd like to lose another 10 after that), but it's gotten soooo slow. I can't be too upset though. I haven't been this weight in over a decade ! This is the first time in my life I actually am comfortable in my own skin and if I don't ever lose another pound all of this would still be worth it!

Question about hunger in week one
Totally normal. And trust me, you're going to be missing this time when you start healing LOL! Enjoy it now! Congrats on your recent surgery!

Am I really at THIS point?
Believe me, you are NOT alone in thinking or feeling the way you do. As many posters have already said, the one most popular regret is not having done this sooner, so please try to keep that in mind. If you're contemplating WLS, you are either at or near the point to do whatever it takes to get healthy and lose the weight. I will tell you this tool has been the best one to lose the weight and KEEP IT OFF, unlike all the yoyo dieting, pills and programs I have tried in the past. I am a little over 8 months in, but I know each pound I lose, it will be FOREVER gone this time. Good luck to you. It is perfectly normal to question sucj a huge decision. It definitely is a life changing one!

banded, banding, bands--verb--To assemble or unite in a group
Elfie--SO glad you're back!!! We really missed you! Shammah--Any pics of the new do? Stacie--thanks! I'm really trying to stay motivated. Doesn't help when I freaking HATE exercise. Leigha--are you celebrating a victory right now? I'm thinking your C25K is in the final stage right? Woohoo!! Denise--how about my shopping addiction LOL? You know it's been awhile, so what did I go out and freaking do? Yup, iPhone 4. HUGE thing for me because it means switching from Verizon, a carrier I already love, to AT&T. Hope I won't be disappointed! I have THE worst credit, so I applied online just to see (and really not thinking I'd get approved) and low and behold, that magical little screen popped up LOL. So I get it in about 2 to 3 weeks. I am not a good "waiter" so I'm thinking about seeing if I can just go out to the store LOL.

I'm in Onederland and Half Way to Goal! Woohoo!!!
YAAAY! Congrats to you on this huge milestone!!!! YOU GO GIRL!!!!

Hunger?
LOL-- I have NEVER been one of those. I can eat a whole Lean Cuisine in one sitting and STILL be hungry! I know many say they can only eat one cup of food total for their meal, and I do try to keep it reasonable, but in no way does 1 cup ever satisfy me. I told my doc the same thing. He does all my fills under fluoro and I've never had a pouch issue (knock on wood). I'm very close to restriction too--I guess I just need to keep eating slowly so my brain will catch up with my tummy LOL! Next fill is July 15. I am thinking it will only be .2 or .3 ccs--I should definitely be in the green zone then. I HAVE to be LOL!

Exercise Goals
I can't believe I did 6 days last week! I did slack off on Sunday...oh well. So far, yesterday my sister and I did TurboSculpt for 40 mins then 30 minute hip hop abs. This morning, I did the 30 minute hip hop abs again, so I'm in for 140 minutes for this week. We can do this!

Hunger?
Yup--same here! Some days I am so ravenous I try to curb the calories, but it's really difficult when it's genuine hunger. Every day seems different, but lately, I have been noticing I am getting pretty hungry in between meals and I am able to get things down much quicker than usual. Thank goodness fill #2 is scheduled for July 15.
