  1. Just be positive about your progress, keep the exercise up daily be that gym or housework, anything, you will see the benefits of your weight going and then this in turn boosts you again..its great!!

  2. How did you get on? Thing is you can still have cheese just not in the quantities you had it before. I have a little cheese with the salmon/tuna meals i make. We all go off the rails, the thing is when you have the band it does help. a Good example...

I went to a friends leaving party. I got drunk on 4x250 wine + 1 sambuka and 1 B52. Walking back i did my usual thing and bought a kebab not thinking as i was worse for ware. I got home and had 1 tiny bite of the meat and felt pain where i hadnt chewed it or it just didnt agree. I put it straight in the bin and went to bed. The moral is i still lost weight that week, had a lovely time socially with my friends and the best thing was I DIDNT PUT WEIGHT ON.

  3. Hi Rowley,

Well this is a hard question tbh. I decided myself without consultation that the easyband was for me. Then i went to Dr Ashton and he asked had i considered the Bypass.

I said no and that i wanted just the band.

The bypass and sleeve are more drastic surgery due to there being more "possible" complications. Mine was a simple operation with fast recovery.

What this boils down to is you. If you are a grazer, ie you eat pretty much most of the day with a sweet tooth then you will probebly cheat the band unless you work at changing your lifestyle and go into it 100%.

I am 3lbs short of loosing 4stone since May2009.Its not easy but as i am getting more restriction with the band its getting easier.

The difference is this. At my goal weight i can decide to reduce the restirction as i want depending on my eating progress. With the bypass or sleeve there is no option to choose as its permanent. It will boils down to your commitment to change.

  4. Ref to food:I am eating thick homemade soups at present, yoghurt's and yoghurt drinks etc. Also had this weekend family Sunday dinner which i had gravy, 1 mashed protatoe and Sweed, which was nice as i could sit with the family at dinner time still. I think after my first fill i might have to amend it slightly and move back to thinner soups/shakes till i am ready to move back onto phase 2 food. Phase 3 in 6-8 weeks i cant wait for. I know at present i could eat anything i like but sticking to the diet is the main thing here. The band is a 60% helper in weightloss 40% is still you training your brain to eat differently.

  5. There was a program on this morning show in UK showing the band. I think fern Britton had it fitted because if it but she didnt tell anyone and got a lot of stick on TV for it.

  6. Hi Annie, nice to hear from you. Will outline the things i know about it.Firstly here is the site with the exact detail:-

Easyband Gastric Band obesity Surgery - Weight Loss Clinic - Healthier Weight

Professor Favretti and Dr Ashton did my operation.

The band itself as the Professor says is the rollsroyce of bands. It is a normal band base but there is no fluid to move the band in/out. It uses a telemetric signal which controls the opening and closing of the band. You dont need to undress even its done by putting a device on your chest and just type in how wipe you want it.For my op i had 5 days pre-op diet. The op leaves you with 4 small 1 stitch which will disappear and a small 3 stick sucher cut near your breast bone where the receiver is placed(equiv of the port) which will aslo disappear. 1000 characters is to little for messages..lol
