  1. ask your doc. Band docs are very picky.
  2. So here is my exercise scheduel M, W - water aerobics for 45 mins T, TH - swim laps for 1hr Sat- hike for 2-3 hrs Sun- rest I want to pump up my exercise by doing am stuff but so far I have been unsuccesful.
  3. Make sure your scale is not on carpet or any other soft surface. When my scale is on hard wood I get the same reading now matter how many times I get on and off but put it on a carpet and its all over the place.
  4. Thankfully in MA we don't have to list our weight. We just give our height and thats that. I got my new license about 1 yr post banding and I love love love the pic, even the woman at the DMV said it was the best she has seen. I always give my license to waiter/ bouncers/ etc even if they don't ask for it because I love it soo much.
  5. I would just prefer it to be under the user CP and not in the current location. I hate seeing 0 friends it makes me feel like a loser (and not in the good way.) I get that some of you like to keep track of each other and thats great I just don't want to see that x person has 20 friends and I have none. I know a little childish but I can't help it.
  6. I love the applicators. I can never figure OB out. It seems soo akward to me.
  7. Laurend are you happy teaching? Every few months I see a thread about how annoyed you are by your students. Your young maybe it's time for a career change.
  8. I was going to say the same as Laurinda. Go to 2% stay there for a month or 2 then go to 1% and maybe then skim. I personally drink 1% but when I'm treating myself I drink whole. One thing that I found interesting is that you call whole milk regular, this can be giving you a mental block as regular usually means normal. Try calling it whole milk and slowly transitioning to 2%, 1% or skim.
  9. Liquid tylenol seems to work much better for me than its pill counterpart. Also the original version of midol is made with acetomenophine (tylenol) so it should be fine but make sure you read the ingredients as some of it has a naproxen or asprin in it.
  10. I would say no. I was in the same situation as you. I waited for winter break and I was soo thankful that I did. I ended getting a stomach virus a day after banding so I needed to be hospitalized for a week. If this was during the semester I would have been screwed. So leave extra room for possible complications and you also have to keep in mind that you will be on major pain killers, a liquid diet, and will generally feel like crap for a little while. Maybe if you have a fluff major you could get away with it, but I would not risk it.
  11. The instead ones are not reusable. I tried them a few years ago and I liked them. Like a tampon if it is inserted right, you can't feel it. It you feel it, take it out and try again. It takes a few times to get used to it. But it is on the expensive side when compared to tampons so I went back to using tampons and pads. Pads for light days, tampons for heavy days.
  12. I have gotten slightly bigger. I went from a 44C to a full 38C. My bras fit sooo much better. I don't know if you go down in band size if the cup siza decreases too but now the bras fit soo much better. I have lost about 60 pounds so far.
  13. It's really bad but I have developed this habit. It happens towards the end of the meal, when I am full but I still have food on my plate. The food taste soo good that I chew and spit it and then give it to my dog. It sounds soo bad as I type this but I get such enjoyment of tasting the food. I never knew that there was a name for it, I thought I was the only one that did it.
  14. go to your doctor. Yes it will suck but it is the only way to find out what is going on. He may scold you but in the long run it will be beneficial that you get your band checked and filled! Goodluck.

I don't know if anyone else said this but it is called a buffalo hump. People with certain disease such as cushings get this but you can also get it from plain old fat. Lose weight and lose the pain and the hump!! =)
  16. I'm the same way. I always feel like people are staring at me, but I know that this is all in my head. I wish I could say something to help, but I'm facing this too.
  17. I am in nursing school and we were taught that sugar free and artifically fat free foods are horrible for the body. Basically the body dosen't know what to do with the stuff and converts it to fat.
  18. If you stay in the hospital just comfy clothes they have everything else. If you stay in a hotel: clothes, lip balm, your own pillows, thats all I can really think of. I was so drugged that I really didn't need much. Just make sure someone is with you, because if you are having a problem they will notice it first.
  19. I shopped around and all of the major Boston hospitals charge $500. I think it is a scam but the way i see it , I have already paid thousands to LA weight loss and the such but at least I know this will work.
  20. If no one in the ER is familar with it ask for an oncology nurse and a huber needle. The port is similiar to ports they use for chemo so they would be your best bet. You could also ask your doctor for a needle for emergency situations.
  21. I think it only counts if you have documented hypertension that requires medication or some other immediate intervention. But don't ask us call your insurance comapny.
  22. I didn't have one.
  23. I would just call them and complain. I don't think there is any need to sue unless you actually contract something which I think would be rare as the food is frozen which kills bacteria and then heated which also kills bacteria. Just call and never eat SB again.
  24. If you don't mind me asking, how do you see this website. I'm a student nurse and I have encountered several blind people in my practice and I would love to be able to tell them about any programs that are available. Thanks And OMG that was really really unprofessional the way the hospital didn't even call you or change thier wesite. I would have been soo mad! But don't let this set you back, go to another meeting and see if the lap band is right for you.

I have to relax on my back before sleeping but turn to my right side to actually fall asleep.
