If you band had slipped your doctor would have called you. She is able to put it off for another day, most likly becuase there is nothing wrong. Try not to worry.

It was one of the best decisions that i have ever made. I just wish i had it done earlier. Now i want my sister and my friend to get it done!

I'm afraid that I am losing my best friend. We used to talk almost every day online, but now we hardly every do and when we do it seems really strained. I think the problem is when we got together all we did is dinner and either shopping and a movie. And for like a week before we would lust over the thought of the resturant. We would go online and look at the menus and talk about what to get. But now the food really dosen't interest me. And when we go out i want to do something active not just a movie. I realize that i have changed and she is the same as ever. Wow just writing this makes me feel better. I know that I am making the right choices but i hate to leave her behind.

I think you may be pushing it. After surgery i was a wreck. Everybody is different but it sounds like a lot. Let us know how it goes and what you decide.

wow thats rough. hopefully it will get easier as you lose the weight. I was hard to fill at first but it has got alot better.

I ate alot of sweets and just general junk. And the band has been great! Just because you eat sweets it does not mean the band won't work. The amount of food the i eat, is greatly reduced. And futhermore my cravings for junk food has diminshed. The band is a great tool.

Well. I still get hungry. I don't know what to tell ya.

Why not get it done during one of those week long vacations. You could have the surgery on the friday before break starts and have a whole week off and then you can take more sick time after that if you wanted to. There is a way to work it out.

yup, whats wrong is that you are trying to eat. Right now you have to super strict with yourself. No more cheating!

Ok i want to do water aerobics but i'm afraid it will be all senior citizens. I'm 20 and i would love to have other younger people in the class. So for those of you who take it is it usually just older adults?

I can see paying for the band yourself if the insurance company will not pay for it, but why not see if the insurance company will pay first. Try to save any money that you can. If they deny you, so be it but don't just throw your money away. I haven't seen sicko yet but I can't wait to. It looks like such a good movie. something that will really make you think.

Well the good news is that it is more of a reason for your insurance to cover you. It must have been a huge shock though.

You know whats interesting my doctor never told me. I have just eaten and then had a fill with no probs. So I'm interested in seeing what other people have to say.

My biggie is sometimes i just really want to eat everything in sight and the band stops me. Now this is a good and a bad thing. At that moment I get so upset because i want whatever it is but i can't have it, usually because i am full I can pretty much eat everything. But once the moment passes i realize how great the band is and how it stopped me from eat a huge quanity.

What your parents did was horrible. But what the theapist has been doing is even worse. She knows the facts and still supports you parents, you need a new therapist asap. You should also talk to the surgeon and thier staff and tell them what happened. They need to be aware that their evaluation is flawed. Now are you living at home or are you in college in a dorm? If you are living at home it sounds like you need to get out. Right now that enviroment is toxic. Now i love my band, but if i was forced to have it I am sure that i would hate it and resent every minute of it. The good news for you is that you can get the fill taken out so that the weight loss will stop. It sounds like you are losing weight really really fast, what is your fill and normal meal scheduel? I am 7 months out too, and the weight is soo not falling off. It has been slow like a 1 lb a week and I have no muscle wasting. How much weight have you lost so far? Please talk to someone at the surgeon's office and let them know. What your parents did can't be reversed but hopefully some solution can come out of it. Keep us posted.

Welcome to band land!!! I was banded at the brigham too and i love them all there. The whole staff is so great! Good luck with your band!

with arms down, i only notice the nipple being off. Try to get some of your money back, but I would not go under the knife again. They look fine. Why don't you wait 6 months and see how you feel then. But if they really make you unhappy and you have the extra money to spend get them redone by a new doc. Or better yet why not see a new doc and ask him if he thinks the size differnce will improve in the months to come.

It sounds like you have alot of resentment towards women. Perhaps you should seek therapy. All three failed marriages could not have been the womans fault. Don't rush into a 4th marriage until you are sure that you are truly in love with the woman.

Oh man you guys, i was going crazy with that lady too. The kid needs the surgery, let him get it. How would subjecting him to years more of abuse help him mentally. She does not have a clue about what it is to be fat, she needs to get perspective or get out of that practice. Oh she was so smug! grrr

mel, you can do it. But is your band helping you enough, do you have enough of a fill? I just got what i think may be the perfect fill and it is dramatic. Go see your doctor and talk about it.

11 lbs to go I'm getting so excited.

My PCP was very supportive of the lap band and never talked about by pass to me. The surgeon and her staff were all really happy that i picked the lap band. The Surgeon even told me that she would not have done by pass on me because the nurses get upset when she operates on young people ( i was 19)Overall everyone was very positive.

I don't regret it at all. As i was coming out of anesthesia i had a bit of a panic attack that i had actually gone through with it but once i realized i was gonna be ok it was great. Now about 6 months out i am just sooo happy i did it and i want my sister and best friend to get it next!

I get the shoulder pain if I am really hungry too. It goes right away once I eat, but it it soo bad if i am hungry.
