  1. Hi Shay...Thanks for joining!
  2. I just came back from getting my first fill after surgery. The NP gave me 1cc. I was told the surgeon had given me 2 ccs during surgery. We will see how it goes this next 4 weeks. I do not feel any restriction at all. Hopefully it will kick in later today. I'm on liquids for the next 3 days. This will give me a chance to try the Nectar protein samples.
  3. Hi Jennifer. Welcome to the challenge. I am so thrilled that we have enough people on board to motivate each other.
  4. Hi Amy. Thanks for accepting the challenge. We are just beginning our journey. I wish you well. Do what you can and try not to hold yourself to making the goal right away. You may not feel like exercising the first few days after surgery. We can brainstorm our next challenge for August. Let's try and mix it up so we do not get bored.
  5. Glad you are in WonderWoman. Congratulations on your banding. Let me know if you have any questions before or after your surgery.
  6. Thanks for joining us Gabi! I too needed something to motivate me. I almost talked myself out of starting the challenge. I was thinking no one would join. I can't believe I am getting excited about exercising. WoHoo!
  7. I am tracking actual exercise.
  8. Welcome aboard Willowcat. Glad to have you join the group. I also have a bike. I will possibly alternate between the two so that I won't get bored.
  9. My "mentor" who works in my doctor's office is 3 years post op and she plays softball. She has not told me of any injuries.
  10. JuJuVee, thanks for accepting the challenge. I am so glad you are on board. I need someone to hold me accountable and found this to be the surefire way to reach my goal.
  11. ALuv82 thanks for accepting the challenge. I am looking forward to this next phase of my journey. I havn't exercised faithfully in years. This is the next step of a healthy lifestyle. Hopefully I will be able to start a 50 Mile Jog Challenge.
  12. Hello. I would like to start exercising and my preferred method would be walking. I have a treadmill that currently is not being used. I would like to change that and the only way I can get motivated, is to have a partner or two or three..... I would like to start a 50 Mile Challenge from July 1st to August 1st. If you are interested let me know. We will start Wednesday, July 1st and end Saturday, August 1st then maybe start over again. We can have weekly check in every Wednesday to log our miles walked and, or exercised. I know there are many of you that can easily walk 50 miles or more. I am not one of them yet. Hopefully I will be soon.
  13. Wow! I am really impressed. I'm glad to hear that all is well with you since you had complications. :bored: Thanks for replying to my post.
  14. OK Sugga. I might be a little slow here. Did you lose 18-21 pounds since 6/9/09?
  15. Hi Sugga. You've only had 2 fills so far? When was the second fill? When were you banded? Your weight loss is impressive.
  16. You look years younger! I can't wait until I lose enough weight to see a noticeable difference.
  17. Thanks Reneek. I just needed to hear from someone who has gone through the process to encourage me. I am feeling much better today. 6lbs lost in 8 days is a great loss. That is awesome and the fact that you are eating what you want makes this journey easier. Have you had any PB, stuck food or sliming incidents?
  18. Thanks for the advice. We are doing a lot of walking while on vacation. When I return home next week I will fire up the treadmill and the Wii Fit. I will also make sure I eat according to my doctor's plan. I hope to lose with the 1st fill. I will be on Clear liquids for 3 days and then soft foods for 3 days before going back to normal foods. I told several people at work that I had the surgery. I'm afraid that when I return and I haven't lost I will be thought of as a failure and a fool. I am a self pay and my co workers know that as well. So many people tried to convince me that the surgery was not a good idea. I have until mid August before I go back to work and hopefully prove them wrong. I just want a noticeable amount to be lost. I am not going for model thin.
  19. Hi. I have a 10cc band and will get my first fill on 6/30/09. Who lost weight with the first fill and how much did you lose before needing a 2nd fill? I lost 11 pounds the first 3 weeks post op. I was scheduled for a fill on 6/16/09, but had to reschedule because I was flying out on my vacation. I am now on vacation and can eat anything. I am not over doing it, but I no longer get full after a few bites. Last night I was able to eat most of my hamburger. Nothing is getting stuck at this point. I do not have a scale available, but I think I am gaining weight. I just hope that I can lose more after I get my first fill. Please tell me I can. I really need to be encouraged right now. I pray that this will be the last vacation where I am FAT. I look like I am 7 months pregnant.:blushing:
  20. Hi China. Why did you wait 5 months before getting a 2nd fill? Were you losing weight? I do not have my first fill yet. Does the doctor determine how much to fill the band by some formula?
  21. Thanks Sarah. I'm glad you are doing fine. Sharing your experience will hopefully make it easier for me.
  22. WOW!!! Shark congratulations on your weight loss. That is an impressive amount in less than a year! :blushing:
  23. Hi Sarah. How are you feeling? I will get my first fill on 6/30/09. Do you feel any tightening around your stomach? Do you have any discomfort? How was the overall fill? I'm scared of needles.:blushing:
  24. Jenn, I bet that Chocolate Truffle might be my fav. It has been mentioned a few times on this thread by other posters.
