  1. Today i had my first. I have a 10cc band and only got 1cc fill. Just wondering is that normal? :D I've was thinking i would get more.

What now should i look for? I am on liqiuds for 24 hrs and then back to soft foods. Will i be able to really tell if i've had enough to eat? :) What kinds of things are best to eat right after a fill? Is there anything i really need to stay away from? Any advise please will help.

  2. I was banded on Oct 1, 2009. My first few weeks of banding were great no problems feeling the fullness. Knowing when to stop eating. I was on a roll with loosing weight.

I went for a check up with the diatician and the nurse on the 16th. They both were so very please with my progress. I had lost 15 lbs since surgery. Which was like almost 1 lb a day. Keep up the good work i was told. I asked if i could excercise and they said not yet. We'll see what the Dr says when you come to see him on Nov 2nd. (fill ?)

Well ever since then i have not lost a pound. I'm doing everything the same as i was previous. Following all the steps to moving to solids. I am allowed to eat 1 - 1 1/2 cups per meal. I don't want to eat to much in fear of getting stuck. I normally measure my meals to 1 cup. Dag on it if i'm not hungry in 2-3 hours.:huggie: So now i'm snacking. I'm eating a piece of chocolate each day. It releives my stress i like to think anyway.

I'm at a point of not knowing where to turn. I want to turn to food but thats what got me where i am now. Fat and unhappy. Somebody please help me.

  3. I also want to join this party. I was banded on Oct 1st. I lost 20 lbs on the pre op diet since surgery i've lost 15 lbs. All which came off the first 2 weeks, I have not lost any weight in a week. It's getting so frustrating to me. Asking why did i do this if i'm not loosing. I think i'm going to take the advice some of you gave about weighing yourself. I weight everyday and it's getting to me. Not seeing the scale move.

I'm on soft foods right now. My meals consist of about 1 cup. They tell me i can eat up to 1 1/2 cups but i don't want to in fear i'll gain weight. I have not been released to excersice yet so all i can do is walk.

I also am having a problem staying away from sweets. I am a true sweetaholic. Although i only eat 1 peice normally a snack size candy. I know this is not good.:cursing: I eat when i'm stressed and not seeing the scale move is stressing me the HELL out.:cursing:

Yes it did. I do believe that's where most of my pain was coming from. The pain meds can stop u up. I had surgery on Thursday the 1st and that following wednesday i awoke with a feeling of having a heart attack from the gas. My Dr immediately told me to stop the Loratab switch to tylenol and take M.O.M. I did that drank a hot cup of tea and later that day i was reading a magazine on the toilet. lmbo.

Oh but the pains where gone. And ever since i've taken one dose a day to keep from having that feeling again. Sorry if i've offended anyone but these are the things we endure after having this surgery.

  5. Hello ladies,

I was banded on Oct 1st. For the gas pains i took GasX stripes and milk of Mag. Wonderful think to let it loose. lol

As far as feeling back to normal each person is different. I came back to work on the 12th and i've been doing great. Feeling a bit hungry at times but i drink something and it goes away.

I lost 20 lbs pre op so far since surgery i've lost an additional 16 lbs. I went to church for the first time since surgery and got soooo many compliments. If felt great.

Good luck to all of you. Wr're all in this together. Stay strong it will pass i promise.

  8. For those of you that have been banded. Did you experience a

burning feeling in your abdomin? I have a really bad burning feeling when i'm up and moving around. When i get up and down is the part that i having problems with. If it weren't for that i would feel great.

I'm able to get down 4 oz's per meal. Loratab elixier is the worst tasting med ever. lmbo.

  9. Hello all i'm officially banded Iwent in Oct 1st. I'm having some pain when getting up and down on my left side. The loratab is discusting any sugestions on getting it down? I still have my pain ball but it comes out tomorrow so i"ve gotta get this loratab down somehow. My Doc gave my percocet elixer but i couldnt fnd a pharmacy that had it.

I hope all the new Oct bandster are doing well.

  10. Hello all i'm banded now. Surgery went well. Spent one night in the hospital came home this afernoon. I still have the pain ball inserted. Any suggestions on taking the Loratab Elixer? Its gross ass he**. lol

My left side is a bit sore but otherwise i'm good. I hope all those who went the same day as me are doing well.

  11. Ok so i'm so sorry. I had a list of all the October Bandsters and i've misplaced it. Someone was keeping name and dates for us all so we could keep in contact with each other. Please if anyone knows where i can find it send it to me. Next week i'll have a lot of time on my hands. lol I also want to check on those who's date is the same as mine.

    October 1st here i come. A new beginning to a wonderful life.:tongue2:

  12. This is to funny. I was all geeked up to eat all this food on friday at the cheesecake factory. And guess what. I couldn't hardly eat anyrthing. lol I got soooooo full so quick. I did manage to have the spinach and artichoke dip. And the brownie dessert i hate about half of it.

I guess that's a good sign of my eating habits. It's been since May that i've been cutting back on my meals. It's just not taking as much anymore to get me full. Just imagine how it will be after surgery. Speaking of the Thursday is the day.:smile2:

  13. LMBO. @ 2flyguys. My sister was just talking about that. She has heard it's fabulous. I plan on having some of her's. I want the chocolate brownie with fudge AND ice cream. lol

The dish i normally eat i can't have only because i've agreed to do a study with my Dr that will pay $200. There are certain foods i have to stay away from for 2 weeks prior and lemon is one of them. I love the bistro Pasta that has a lemon based sauce. That's ok. I need the $200 more than i need the Pasta anyway. I'm still gone enjoy myself to the fullest.

Pre-op diet is very close. Although i've read many ppl have 2 weekk of clear i only have one day which is great for me. Surgery 1 week from today.

  14. How many of you have had or planning on having your "last meal". I know it's wrong to do! lol

I am having mine tomorrow evening and i can't wait. I am going to Cheesecake factory with my sisters and a few close friends.

Surgery is one week from today pre op starts Wednesday. i can't wait for my new life to begin.

I hope everyone has a wonderful experience with starting a new life.

  15. I know in my case insurance took a long time. My surgeon submittee it on Auguest 3rd and i got approval on August 31st.

To be honest i called my insurance company once a week to see what was goning on. And then also according to how long the insurance takes will have a lot to do with when surgery will be done. My Dr was scheduling at least 6 weeks out.

Good luck and don't be affraid to call the insurance company yourself. I gave my surgeon the authorization number. lol

  16. It is so nice to be able to meet ppl who are going thru the same thing with you.

@ Lindac80 i also had to loose weight. I've lost 21 lbs. Mu surgery could not have been scheduled if i didn't loose at least 20 lbs. Good luck to you. Stay strong!

@Happy loser i went out over the weekend and purchased some protien drinks to try, gas-x, sugar free Jello, broth and my flinestone Vitamins. I'll go out the night before surgey to get a few more things.

This is a very exciting time in all our lives. I wish all of you much sucess. We can do it.

  17. I am soooo excited. I will finally start my new life in less than 2 weeks. I've been told by so many "you've lost weight without surgery why are you have it done u can keep goin you've done so good" Has anyone else experienced this? I've lost 20 lbs pre-op Dr's orders.

I went yesterday to purchase items i would need post op. Gas-x, Protein drinks, and broth ect....

I wish all the October bandsters good luck and much success.

  18. I'm in the same boat as you. But i had to loose 20 lbs. The first month i lost the ten so easily. Now i'm in the second month and i can't drop the other 10 lbs. I have my final appt july 23rd and was hoping to have the 20 lbs gone. My surgery will not even be scheduled unless i have lost the 20 lbs.

Good luck and i'll be praying for a miracle to loose the last few lbs so you can have your surgery.

  19. Hello all,

I am new to the site. I have just begun my journey to being banded. The problem i am having is i have to loose 20 lbs before i can even get insurance approval. I know my insurance covers this.

I have an apt on June 25th to meet with the dietician again and support group. I was hoping to at least be at the halfway mark. Then July 23 is my psych eval and final appt with my surgeon. If i have not lost the weight i will have to wait until i do to be schedule or even info sent to insurance for apprval.

I was given a liver reduction diet. It reminds me alot of the Atkins. But i am not seeing the weight come off. Any suggestions on how i can speed up this process of loosing the 20 lbs? I really want to be able to set a date in July.

Thank you for all your suggestions.

  20. TV Guy,

What pre op diet did u use? I'm in the beginning stages of this long process and i've read about several different diets being used. I have to loose 20 lbs before i go back to the Dr July 23rd. At that point if i've lost the weight then it will go to the insurance for approval next. And then of course surgery date. I'm hoping to be banded in August, September at the latest.
