  1. hi I had my first seminar in dec of 2008 and the surgery in august of 2009, after you jump through all of the hoops, it is a pain in the butt, but it helps alot, I've been struggling since this last fill its the tightest its ever been i'm at 6cc's now and food is goin down rough, especially meat, steak and pork I cant even handle!! good luck to you
  2. it's been a year for me and i've barely lost 40 lbs,pls don't be discouraged, lap band is a tool, but what you find out is it can't do anything about the way you think about food, day by day you will learn give it time you are in the baby stages my friend some of us are slow losers, like me,take it slow, success will be yours!!
  3. sometimes that happens ,today you can eat everything then the next day the same food sticks, eat slower and make sure your food is moist add chicken stock mayo ,butter anything to make it smoother to digest. I just had a fill last tuesday and still can't eat solid foods, like meat, but nuts and icecream went down fine,it is so frustrating, other people have this problem too. good luck

has anyone had single incision lapband and is still leaking through belly button after a year,my doc says its my body, and then burns the inside of my belly button with what looks like a long matchstick still leaking though its nasty if i dont wear a gauze or cotton ball on it.
  5. how many of you are doing this without excersizing? I am limited and haven't lost that much weight its been 11 months. It's depressing at times, but I'm working on moving more. How can you eat only a fraction that you used to eat and still not loose weight!!good luck all!
  6. I'm glad there are people like me,Ive lost 32lbs since last august 24th 09,talk about frustrating, and since my last fill in jan. ive lost about 6 lbs,i dont excercise allthe time, and alot of times my food comes back up,you know pb's, i see the doc tomorrow I am up to 5.5 cc's,but I dont think he will put in any more because of this acid reflux and pb's ive been having more lately!Did any of you notice though your body is looking smaller every few weeks, even though you are not losing steady weight, people at the job say I look so much smaller,it's kind of embarrassing because everyone wants to know, oh how much did you lose, ive stopped talking about it,and just say to them when I lose 40 I'll let you know, this is a tool, and It is not easy at all!! I'm not looking forward to the doc visit friday, wish me good luck:unsure:
  7. i don't like your dr, he seems to not believe in you, and I think he prefers to deal with bypass patients, from what you said here ,ive been banded 7 mos.ago and havent lost barely 32 lbs,but al least its something, yeah i could be doing better, my doc stresses the excercise, i toldhim about my back leg hip, and slipped disc issues, he keeps saying oh excercise, excercise, how unrealistic he is even walking causes me severe pain after about 10 or 15 minutes, and the office hours are terrible, i missed my last app't due to their error, now i cant see him til april 30, and havent lost much more weight since the last time in january, i like having the band, but it is not a miracle cure at all, I am trying to do better though i am a littel dissapointed in myself,i want to reach my personal goal of 40 lbs,but havent yet, well good luck to you,
  8. i was so glad to read your post, i too had lapband surgery in august of 09 and have lost about 26 lbs, i have problems with excercise and eat a fraction of what i ate before and am losing very very slowly, but my body recently looks much smaller, even though the scale is not moving much, i relieved someone else out here is going thru what i am goin thru, lap band is definitley not a fast way to lose weight, but i will do better ,good luck
  9. good luck to you, follow all the doc's instructions, sip slowly and in a few weeks after the liquid and puree diet you will be fine, I was banded 2 months ago, lost 21 pounds so far and have had no fills, yet, you will understand more as the weeks go by ,if u would like to keep in touch e mail me at tbonilla64@aol.com I always have trouble coming to these sites, and prefer to keep in touch by email,if you want to, good luck again
  10. mY hubby cant fully lay on top of me either right now,i'm 6weeks out, try different positions, he should be understanding, and supportive of you,i can feel my port after losing 18lbs,some days the area is sore, good luck
  11. I went to a meeting at a hospital, got all the paperwork, and dates for 2 required seminars for the lap band or gastric bypass, in that packet you will get all the info u need, psycolgical evaluation, 6month weight list from your doctor go to doc to get weighed every month 4 6 mos. doctor letter, medical neccesity letter, pre op test, and meeting for the surgery then surgery date then walla !I'ts a long process most insurance want u to do all of these things, plan ahead good luck
  12. to heck with those people they are ignorant, we are human too! don't let them get u down, and when u r healthy again, you can ignore them and pray for them too,its good for the heart not to hold a grudge, trust me i've learned
  13. hey sorry about your pain, according to my list yogurt is not on the list til week 5 and beyond, week 1-3 is liquid sugarfree jello, protein shakes 4 oz and hour drink real slow, sugar free icepops too, warm tea is good too,no caffienne though, your pain can't you take tylenol, my incision was thru my belly button a lot of liquid coming out but no blood, only now is my port feel achy, i can actually feel it,after losing 17 lbs i'm on my 5th week doin pretty good with the food and puree, hope you feel better soon, good luck
  14. you are awesome, I keep reading about people who are banded and losing so much weight in so little time, how did you do it I'm only 5 weeks banded and lost 17lbs,but I am happy,I will be eating regular foods from here on end do you still take the protein shakes, I will try the powdered milk and add it to milk ,see how I like it unjury protein is great but costly, other liquid protein shakes are not as good at all, good luck
  15. happy birthday, my bd is in nov,i already told the family i'm not celebrating this year, and my mother of course, said what are u talking about, i can't eat cake nor am i buying a cake for other people to eat, they can all send me a card if they like, thats what i'm doin this year, just me and my hubby and a small portion of homemade food, we have to break these habits of every celebration is about the food, lets be realistic i was banded aug 24th, and life is not as fun, cause now u just can,t eat a ridiculous amount of food, just cause u feel like it or run to the bakery and get a cannoli or brownie,we have to look for other ways to enjoy ourselves, but i suspect it takes time to get used to,well good luck to you and many successes!!
