  1. Since I am back on track with my diet I just would like to take a laxative to flush my system. Is this ok to take? Before surgery I used to take this liquid kind from walgreens. They come in different flavors like grape, cherry, ETC. Anyone still tried laxative?
  2. I just wanted to post about being back on track with my band. I can admit I was messing up at first, but I have started back and have been eating more protien and never knew that it worked so well. I had 2 boiled eggs and 1 piece of toast this morning around 8am and I am still full almost stuffed feeling and I can't belive it. I think I will get rid of the shakes becuase they don't hold me long enough. I also have my snacks almonds, yogurt, string cheese these keep me full too. I feel so full I almost feel like im cheating on my diet, but I know im not im just eating the right things now. I also have a cookbook called the biggest looser and will be trying some of the receipes from there that are high in protien. I see this isn't too bad once you have the foods down right. Any receipe suggestions I am all ears thanks.
  3. Yes I now have 5.5 cc's in my band. I go for another fill on the 16th. I actually haven't seen the dr yet I have been seeing the the nurse that does my fills, but she did say I was doing good and that most people that come in have gained all there weight back from after surgery. I have basically been maintaining my weight it will go up and down just by like 3lbs. I was not eating right though and I think that's the problem. So yesterday I got back on track eating more protein drinking lots of water and working out at curves. So hopefully by my next appt day I will have lost a few more lbs. What have you been doing?

  5. The point of this is to reset your band and get yourself in gear. It's to help get the cravings out your system so that you can get back on track with your band.
  6. I have been doing carnation sugar free shakes now for 2 wks for breakfast and they don't keep me full long at at. Anyone know of good tasting shakes that work longer?
  7. I heard someone that has been banded that is taking phentermine. What do you guys think about that?
  8. Yeah I have tried the muscle milk I found it near my job at a gas station on my way to work one morning. It wasn't too bad, but it did keep me full for a while. If I can remember those have a lot of sugar in them too. I have atkins at home and haven't opened them yet I will try one tomorrow. I do wanna try the ujury where do I buy this?
  9. I can admit when I first git banded I was messing up big time on eating the wrong thing. Now im trying hard and don't know what to eat. I have been doing shakes for breakfast if I get hungry I would eat chips and salsa before lunch im just stuck and in bad need for help.

    New protein shake

    So does this shake keep you full for awhile? I have been drinking sugar free carnation shakes and they don't last on me too long.
  11. @2020mom I had surgery around the same time you did I was banded 10/14/09 and I also have 5.5cc's in a 10cc band. I am stuck at the same weight that I lost right after surgery 22lbs. 2020zmomzmom

    Emillie1 yes my problem is when I get hungry too. I think I let myself starve too long trying to do this 3 meal a day thing so when im starving I wanna eat more and too fast. Also sometimes the wrong thing. @season4change thanks for the info I will go to this website and also try to eat more protein that is another issue I am having I don't eat enough. Maybe im eating waaay too many carbs. I just don't get it I do eat less, but the scale just keeps going up and down 2-3lbs here and there up and down up and down. Im just glad I haven't gained back my weight that I lost right after surgery im still stuck at the same spot and it's been 3 months I don't wanna see a yr and nothing more lost. Yeah I think I am trying to do what some people here do eat the same way as before surgery but less and I see now that doesn't work for me. I know everyone is different and I have to try another approach.

    Yes I can eat bread long as it's not too soft it has to be toasted for me to eat it and I take small bites. It got stuck once so I only eat it toasted now. Chicken is starting to be another issue over the wk end it got stuck as well.

    I am now down to 320's and trying to get out of the 300's. What are you guys eating I think this is really hard for me I want to cry. I was banded Oct and lost 22lbs and im stuck there. I just joined curves and started 3 times per wk I just don't know what to do well I guess I need to eat like a rabbit lettuce. How do you guys stay away from all the bad foods it is so hard for me. I haven't had sweets in a wk been doing good with that I drink a carnation shake for breakfast light lunch i don't know this is just harder then what I thought it was going to be. I have 5.5 cc's in my band and had a turkey sandwich for lunch and was able to eat the whole 6 inch.
  15. Can anyone tell me of any smoothies you can buy pre made and healthy from the grocery store? Also that taste good?
  16. Yeah I saw those yoplait ones too when I googled smoothies they sound pretty good. The only thing is I still don't have the time to blend them the morning I need something already ready to go.
  17. I was banded Oct 14th and can still eat anything I have had 2 fills so I am at 4.5 cc's right now and the only thing that I noticed that I cannot eat it un toasted breads. They get stuck and that does not feel good at all. Other then that I can still eat whatever I want it is lesser then before the band, but it's still to much. Then the holidays didn't make it any better. This is frustrating and hard speacially when you still crave certain foods how do you stay on track? has anyone started off bad and ended up doing very well? Help please I need some encouragement.
  18. Yes I have started curves last month but haven't been in two wks cuz of the holidays. I have my bag packed and ready to go for today after work, but my eating today went bad. Well tomorrow will be a new day and I will try it again I wonder if lean cusines are ok I think im going to buy a few of those for my lunch this wk.
  19. Yes I just got banded Oct 14th and am learning now to eat when satisfied. I do find myself sometimes over eating and yes it doesn't feel good either. I just ate lunch and ate til I wasn't hungry anymore and feeling satisfied. I guess im so used to over eating from before surgery it takes time to learn to just eat til your hunger goes away.

    Banded in october--updates please

    I also had surgery Oct 14th and all together I have lost 23 lbs, but I gained back 4lbs of that. I had my first fill last month and second fill dec 7th I feel a lil more restriction since my first fill and lost 4lbs. I just started curves last wk will be going mon-thur trying hard to eat healthier, but it get's hard for me. I also could eat anything until my first fill. I now have trouble if the bread isn't toasted and rice seemed to get a lil stuck if I don't eat it slow enough and chew it well. I alse need to learn to not let myself get hungry or I will over eat and fill misirble. Hopefully with this workout I will see more results.
  21. Ok I had my first fill last month on the 16th then another one yesterday the 7th. I am now hungry I had a ww egg mcmuffin for breakfast for lunch a chicken breast with a half can of spinach and after my lunch my stomach was still growling. So I ate a few bites of my friends rice then later drank some water im still hungry why why why. I had 3cc's at my first fill and yesterday 1.5cc's. What are you guys eating do I need more to eat? I thought were to eat only a half cup.
  22. Yes the nurse told me that I may still not be full after the fill yesterday as well and that I may need to come back for more. Also I had my fill yesterday morning at 9am and had to do liquids for 24hrs so I was able to eat a late breakfast today and lunch.

    What is PB?

    Oh is that what that is I burp a lot since I had this band, but never have thrown up I almost have. I really burp when I walk sometimes like after a meal. I have had it where I burp and I almost throw up like it almost comes up in my throat and go back down yuck. What does that mean?
